The one guy at the front desk couldn't tell us anything about the area. The public transportation nearby also sucks...the bus may pick you up at the nearby bus stop, but we had trouble finding our way back from elsewhere - no one understood where the bus stop was. Your best bet is to walk 10 minutes to the airport, then take the ALIBUS (which costs a slight bit more and only goes to the train station (from where you can take other buses) and ferry stop).
Arianna (I hope I spelled it right) at the front desk was so great - she explained about transportation, things to do around the area, and answered our questions well. The room was clean, comfortable, and quite a good value for the location and price. We liked being close to the airport; the breakfast was also really nice (varied selection - cereals, juices, fresh juicer for oranges, bread, warm eggs, bacon, ham, and cheese)!
