Good Location, close to airport and highways
Very loud music from opposite hotel all night (4.00pm till 9.00am following day. Rooms supposed to be soundproof as advertised on website. Breakfast, went for breakfast at 9.00 and there was no bread. Following day went for breakfast at 7.30 still no bread.
Very close to airport.
NOTHING (Wi-Fi worked out)
... as this hotel allows pets they need to use perfume(!) to refresh their rooms - soooo much perfume that you can not sleep in this place! We tried to sleep with windows open which was not helping the smell was extraordinary obtrusive! ... next to the hotel (100 m away) is a disco playing loud techno music (I assume at the weekends only) - you will hear it with windows open and closed (you still hear it after being 1 km away - that is not an assumption! we tried to escape the noise) ...at the end we preferred to sleep in our car instead as the reception told us that this perfume is used in every room in the same amount ...the reception was not helpful at all - and not understanding our problem ...the airplanes which are flying over the hotel are not a problem at all - REALLY! (you do NOT even hear them) *sarcasm* WORST HOTEL EVER!!!
The lobby is really nice and cosy. Great attention of the receptionist Serena (she´s nice and speaks 4 languages!). Location in front of the sea. The rooms are quite comfortable. Restaurant open every night (despite being off-season).
It´s located really close to the airport, so you should expect it to be quite noisy (in my case, anyway, i didn't mind) You have to pay to get to the beach. In some rooms the wifi doesn´t work at all (and sometimes in the lobby as well). Poor variety of dishes in the restaurant.
Close to the airport, however impossible to reach by public transport. Simple but nice room. Excellent price, excellent location
Inexpensive nightly rate.
Difficult to get AC unit to work properly, so first night of sleep wasn't very fitful.
Friendly and helpful staff
The Locations is ridiculous - it is supposed to be 'Near' the airport. well it is under the Runway, but it still costs between 20 and 25 Euros to get from Hotel to Airport - there is NO alternative transport, unless you catch a bus to Catania Bus station (they leave every 50 minutes and it takes 20 minutes) and then get an Airport bus from there. Catania is a great town/city and I only wished I had stayed there instead!! I see absolutely NO point in staying at the Miramare unless you like aircraft noise and disgustingly polluted beaches.
Close to Catania airport. We had a family room, with 2 separate bedrooms, which was comfortable. Late check in was not a problem, we checked in at 24:45 and the staff member was very friendly. The rooms, bathroom were very clean.
The shower was ancient and the shower head broken. The breakfast was quite poor, but good strong coffee.
Location and front desk staff very helpful and nice
Elevator for one person only. Random Sulfur vs sewer odors were frequenting the various areas of the hotel. Only warm (not hot) shower was available. Some of the furniture in the room was broken
Everything Advertised location is misleading it is not 1.5kms from airport There are several better options than this Do not go here
Good value for money. Clean rooms but slightly shabby. Close to beach. Good breakfast and evening meal.
Air conditioning circulated but did not cool the air. Beach had a wide line of flotsam and jetsum along the high tide line. Sea water appeared clean clean.
The location, the staff, the fine dinner (good kitchen and reasonaple price). I liked most the nervana at the sea shore on evening (probaly not possible summertime)...
No public transportation to City Center nor to the airport, The noise of the airoplanes during night,
we stayed there the first night and because we found the hotel it very convinient, we returned for the last night 29/30.The rooms are not luxury but we had all we needet .friendly staff at the rec.desk. the hotel is very good located for beach-airport and the citycenter.
the showers should be renovated. the breakfast was a little poor.
Reasonably close to airport, but no troublesome aircraft noise.
Difficult to find without satnav. No reasonable restaurants close by, but hotel food acceptable. WI-FI worked in reception area but not in room.
What can I say? The breakfast was miserable, the hotel is to noisy, the room uncomfortable, the personal absent.
Could check in late
Room small and shabby
The girl at the reception (I think her name was Serena), the taxi driver who took me to the airport in the morning (for the life of me I can't remember his name -- long hair, lovely guy)..
# Very poor wi-fi in the room, ok near the reception # When I was booking the hotel, one of the things that influenced my decision was that there was supposedly a free shuttle bus to the airport. This was non-existent. Just a taxi, so for a solo traveller it was a very expensive option. Considering the hotel was like 30-35 euros a night. It cost me 20 euros to get to the airport with the taxi which was only 2km away. Ridiculous! Luckily the driver was a really nice guy. # Location is quite weird. The main road next to the hotel gets quite dark at night with very poor street lighting, so taking a stroll down the road can be quite tricky. Especially with the way some drivers tend to behave on the road in Sicily. I suppose the hotel has little to do with this, but it's noteworthy to mention.
Cleanliness was spot on, the room is necly furnished, with everything you need a solo traveller / couple. This includes air conditioning and WiFi. The view of Mt Etna from the window was great.
Other guests' kids were noisy.
-There is a bus station in front of the hôtel -the beach is at 2 mins
- the environment is too animated. Too much light from external, music from discothèque, noise of planes - room for 4 is very small and low quality for the price 130€. -not a 3 stars quality - the personal seemed not very friendly. My questions seemed to bother them. The service is then unsufficient. - we paid 20€ 10mins from the hôtel to the airport. Their taxi was late and very expensive.
The hotel was close to the airport with secure parking we had just arrived at the airport picked up a hire car . Travelling to the mainland the next day it provided us with a restful night and after a good breakfast we were able to travel on as it was easy to access the E45 to Messina. my wife had read other reviews and was surprised how wrong most were regarding cleanliness and noise etc. good stopover for onward journey.
Probably the locking system on the room doors, sufficient if you are staying in the room but to leave luggage and perhaps to go out for a few hours questionable
This is very close to the airport and ideal for budget hotel for early flights. It is very clean especially bedding and towels etc. and recently decorated.
Staff could smile and offer more info on restaurant etc.
Staff were helpful and polite. Wifi worked well. Free parking in enclosed area good.
The hotel is advertised as being 5 minutes from the airport but it took about 15 minutes or more through heavy traffic to get there and cost 25 euros by cab. The air conditioning didn't work properly and just blew air which didn't cool the room. It also took at least 20 minutes to get to the city centre. Maybe the times stated are accurate in off season but in summer there are 1000,s of people at the beach and the traffic is thick everywhere between hotel, airport and city and times stated are unrealistic.
Some good Beach resorts across the road from the Hotel
Do not stay in this hotel if you want to get some sleep for a flight the following morning as across the road is The Cucaracha Discoteca which seems to enjoy all nighters! Also the 5 minute journey to airport by taxi is 20 euros!
Reception person when I arrived was helpful and friendly.
--Night porter was awful. At 5:30 am, as I was checking out to catch a flight, he announced that (1) he could not take a credit/debit card and (2) he had no change for my 50 Euros bill (room was 44 Euros). Unclear how he thought I would pay. -- WiFi did not work. --Cockroach in room.
