The only bad experience that i got is the rooms were mixed up by the reception lady. She is and she looks so friendly but not efficient. Her mind is blocked and did not listen to our explanation. She put us in the wrong room.
Wonderful staff. Rosita hugged me more than 20 times in our 4 days there. She is like your favorite aunt--warm and lovely--who really wants to make sure you have the BEST time in Positano. The breakfast room view makes it worth the stay and the food is a huge and delicious spread.
We were in room 216--the farthest from the reception in the annex and there was VERY LITTLE wifi. One complaint and a very first world problem!
Staff treated us like old friends. Breakfast on the terrace over looking the harbor was outstanding.
steps to the hotel
Rosita was really helpful. Excellent breakfast. Thank you.
the staff was so kind and helpful convenient location the view from the room the huge bed
the price, this is way too expensive for what it is, but to be fair, i think all positano decent hotels are
Incredible views, balcony, breakfast and walking distance to all of Positano. If you can handle a lot of steps - this hotel is worth the effort to get to.
the view, reception, porter service
too many steps to get anywhere.
Helpful staff ... especially to carry our baggage up and down steps large room .. almost a junior suite location of hotel atmosphere lovely breakfast
nothing ... recommend to anyone
Rosita, the lady that works the front desk, is by far the most helpful concierge I have ever seen. She truly wants you to enjoy your stay with their hotel and she goes to great lengths to make sure you have all of the information you need in order to do so. She was extremely excited when she found out that we enjoyed an excursion that she recommended, and the excitement was genuine and truly heartwarming. The room we stayed in was nicely decorated, with a phenomenal view. The city of Positano is fairly small, but charming and fun to explore - with access to Capri and Amalfi very easy to get. We will efintely go back to this area, and we will make sure we stay at the Miramare.
We didn't mind this at all, but for people that have a hard time maneuvering on steps, Positano might not be the best place for you to visit. You will need to go up and down a lot of stairs in order to truly enjoy this beautiful place.
Fantastic views of Positano and beaches. Excellent and very friendly service from all hotel personnel, especially Rosita. Great recommendations were given for shopping and dining.
What's not to like?
The front desk rosita was nice. It was a surprise that they charge for parking. A lot of walking up and down stairs will be involved which might be difficult for some. They let us get breakfast an hour earlier so we could continue on our journey. Good AC and shower pressure.
The shower leaked which seemed it could be solved simply by buying a less cheap shower curtain. Our floor was completely wet--the nice thing was cleaning people came right after our shower to clean up the floor without us even having to ask. This probably is why the room smells musty and moldy. The furniture and everything was old and outdated which for almost 400 a night I think was a bit much but it is up to each person what they want to pay. We had a standard room and our view was of the water not positano. We spent our 1 year anniversary here after reading all the race reviews from honeymooners but I would've been sorely disappointed if this was our honeymoon.
A Very nice staff and incredible location
An old TV in the room! Old baths. A high price in order to the quality offered.
Rosemarie and the hotel cleaning crew were great but the other staff members we interacted with (at the front desk) were lack luster. The all day yacht trip around Capri which they recommended was AMAZING...do it! A bottle of wine broke in my luggage and soaked all of my clothes..somehow the cleaning woman at the hotel was able to get all of the wine stains out. Everything was salvaged which is absolutely unbelievable and very reasonably priced. The balcony in our room offered extremely beautiful scenes each night. This is what you are really paying for! Love the complimentary breakfast and the views from the restaurant were very nice. The bed was comfortable The maids cleaned more than once a day and kept everything tidy.
The shower was small and awkward...not what I would expect from a medium priced hotel The shower curtain could use an update
Great location and beautiful water views. Set in a central location with a walk up to the main road and down to the beach. Clean rooms, great breakfast in a beautiful setting.
The hotel, room and staff were fabulous. Nicola and his coleague were AMAZING throughout the entire time. Room was great, location excelent and we would definetly go back.
Breakfast was a bit desappointing. Everytime we got there tables werent set and the choice of bread given that you are in Italy, was below average.
This hotel is a wonderful place to be. The staff treats you like family rather than guests. Hugs and kisses whenever you come back. The rooms and the views are fabulous.
The issue for this hotel, like many others, is that it is halfway up the hill. There is no road to the hotel, so you park at their lot above the hotel and they will carry your bags down to the hotel for you. If you go to the town, the beach or on a boat, you have to walk down 200 stairs (and then back up).
The hotel was wonderful and the view was magical. Very close to the beach, 2 minute walk.
There are many, many, many steps to get to the hotel from the street. We were not prepared. We arrived late and had to carry our own luggage down 1,000 steps. The hotel is in the middle of the mountain and steps is the only way of getting to the room. Just need to know that and be prepared. But the Positano experience was worth it.
If you want this hotel - for you will derive pleasure from stay in Amalfi!
It would be desirable slightly more affability from employees reception.
The views from our room were magnificient. Personnal attendance was superb.
Bed was a little short and hard. No mirror or dressing table.Need a full length mirror
Wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, stunning view
It would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problem, owing to the large amount of steps to get to the hotel and the beach.
The hotel is fantastic in every way. However the staff, go well beyond the call of duty to ensure that your experience of Positano is exceptional. Every night a local and well priced restaurant was booked for us that was exceptional
That we had to leave! Perhaps we could have been better prepared for arrival with managing steps and luggage
Views, location and Rosita! All other staff including Orlando were very good too.
