Hotel Miramare    

This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in Naples. Set on what we thought was the best spot on the waterfront, within the Santa Lucia area, we were close to Teatro San Carlo, Plebiscita, shopping and restaurants. We could stroll along the waterfront, visit the castles, and enjoy the marina cafes. The rooftop terrace where we had breakfast was wonderful. As busy as it is in this area, we found it quiet and quite comfortable. We had the added benefit of being able to watch the Giro d'Italia tour right in front of the hotel!

The room and bathroom was rather small, but otherwise very comfortable

Location and terrace. And I liked chocolades they kept putting in my room every day. And their antique elevator is really something. I mean it. It is much better than standard thing they have in properly renovated hotels.

Many things indeed. But that is the spirit of Naples actually. If you are a traveller interested in the world's divercity why should you expect "north-european" standarts everywhere?

Loved staying here, was a bit apprehensive about leaving our passports for so long at the desk but all good. A lovely little grand hotel and would stay again. Beware the Tom Tom will probably lead you Astray on your way there tho but you will eventually reach your destination :) great location along the beach.

This Hotel is just fantastic, I could not have wished to stay at a better place. The owner and staff are just so helpful and the views from the roof top during breakfast is just beautiful.

Location is perfect, most of rooms have a view to the sea and the Vesuvius. The charm of the anciend building: the seating room and the breakfast room are chic and comfortable, the windows are of the ancient original construction and soundproof, the elevator is gorgeous. The staff is friendly.

The general atmosphere of dilapidation. The facilities are absolutely worn-out and do not meet modern requirements. The chic of decadence and vintage mood can't make up for the small uncomfortable rooms crying for renovation. Bathrooms are tiny, the fixtures are groomy. In my room there were serious problems with hot water and they had to call for a plumber to fix it. The rooms are dusty, shabby, with torn wallpapers, dirty stained textile. It is a shame to see a decay of such a nice building perfectlu located on the embankment! I think the Hotel should undergo a major renovation which seems unprobable in the today's financial crisis in Naples. The price does not correspond to what you get. The facilities are on the level of a hostel/

the location is very nice, just several steps from the sea. On the roof garden, we can have the beautiful view of sea and the Vesuvius. The hotel staff are also nice.

The owners of this small lovely hotel went out of there way to help us enjoy Naples. They were truly interested in knowing us and giving us a wonderful impression of Naples. It. As like stayin with friend in the city of Naples!

Really a historical hotel with more than 100 years, near the main shopping street within walking distance. Rooftop terrance for breakfast with grand view of Napoli Bay is so wonderful. Hotel owner Enzo gives us a lot of tips for hanging around in the chaotic Napoli city.

The wall and carpet is really old and need to be cleaned with more care.

Very friendly and efficient staff The owner was there and spoke to us every day. The rooms are all differently designed and had every facility. There were 2 balconies on our rooms with large French windows. The public rooms were outstanding. The breakfast was served on the roof garden overlooking the bay of Naples and Vesuvius.The location on the sea front was excellent. Altogether it must be one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

great location, and the most gorgeous view in all of Italy!

Loved the view from the room and breakfast on the terrace. Breathtakingly beautiful, overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The staff were helpful and ready to give advice on where to eat, places to go etc. They recommended a day trip to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast which was the highlight of our holiday. The location was excellent with lots of resturants nearby, ferry and bus terminus 5 minute walk, plus shops - but worth noting that most shops are closed on Sunday. Another nice touch is that after an evening out you come back to your room and the sheets are turned back, with a sweet and a note saying tomorrows weather forcast. It was all fab!

The location

There were stairs that you had to use to carry your own bags about 15 of them. The location was close to the old palace museum. The hotel was very old with very few staff poor room maintenance, bad smell old rags, rooms were poorly maintened and smelled bad too.I Do not recommend this hotel.

A very comforable room, with a fantiatic view of the Bay of Naples & Vesuvius. Breakfast on the roog top terrance was good, and the coffee was about perfect! A good location for a wander along the front/promendade at night, but its a longer walk to the historic center, which may bother some people.

Absolutely nothing

We were shocked how run down this hotel really was. At night the airco went of!!!!Complaining changed nothing. Carpet in the bathroom... The breakfast was very very poor. Staf spoke little english and were very arrogant .They actually laughed when we said we were leaving the hotel earlier. We left the hotel after two days although we had already paid for the third day. How the hell can this hotel have a good rating?? Napels : never again.

This is the most beautiful, romantic, cozy and charming place in Naples! The owner of the hotel Enzo and his fantastic beautiful wife - they are magic!!! So friendly, sweet and kind!!! All staff is very friendly and hospitable, taking care of every detail, always ready to help! Beautiful rooms with incredible views of the sea and Vesuvius - you lie in bed and see through the balcony door to the divine view! Wonderful breakfasts on the terrace with fantastic views! The romantic interior, nice food, great location - it is right on the main promenade of Naples! Shopping, restaurants, old castles - all nearby! We find in miramare magical atmosphere and beautiful people! We will definitely come back! Liliya and Miroslav from Moscow.

The hotel staffs are very nice because they explain the sighseeing points, bus and taxi information and also high-quality restaurant very freindly. Their information was very clear and correct. We really enjoyed Napori life in this hotel.

Clean up was not perfect, however, acceptable.

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at Hotel Miramare. The family owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.the rooms are clean and fashionably aged, not quite what you see on the website, but functional and very nice. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was wonderful, great view of the bay and Vesuvius and a wide choice of delicious food. I recommend a stay at Miramare.

Beautiful old building, a little tired around the edges but this gave it more character. We had a side view of Vesuvius from the balcony and comfortable room. The breakfasts on the roof terrace were fabulous: omelette, eggs and parma ham, ricotta and spinach pie, fruit, cheese, tomatoes, muesli, croissantes, breads and spreads, exquisite cakes, great coffee, juice and bubbly for those who wanted a decadent start to the day! All this with a terrific view of the bay and Vesuvius in the distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We were offered a coffee on the terrace when we arrived in the morning and had to wait for the room. Try the house Limoncello - made by the owner and deliciously zesty.

The hotel faces the Bay of Naples. Our room had a small balcony with a view of the Bay (not ocean-facing, but a view, nonetheless). The owner, Enzo, is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as are all the employees. Love the Lobby dogs! Very nice breakfast served on the rooftop terrace every day with wonderful cappucinos and a view of that gorgeous bay. The street is currently shut down, so it is nice and quiet. Too bad there is no beach. Great restaurants nearby. Enzo is happy to make a recommendation and a reservation for you.

This is not the hotel's fault, but the pusy street vendors won't let you enjoy a stroll along the street without shoving their wares in your face.

Really friendly staff. Very relaxing atmosphere in a old world style hotel

Great quiet location, but still within a short distance of the sights, restaurants and shopping. The roof terrace was beautiful, with amazing views of Versuvius and the bay. This is where breakfast was served, but also a lovely place to sit and relax during the day. Our room was a good size comfortable and clean.

View and staff

Awesome View, excellent location, dated decor but with an elegant feel

Cost was slightly on the high side

The location was perfect: close to the city centre and the harbour while also being an easy walk to theatres and the seafront promenade. The bed and bed linen were both heavenly and the bathroom well equipped. The breakfast on the roof-top terrace, looking out to sea, was wonderful, the setting just as breathtaking as the home-baked bread, pastries, cold cuts and cheeses. The hotel's decor was also noteworthy, with its old- style elevator, art decor light fittings mixed with extravagant chandeliers and huge, old Persian rugs.

The bedroom and bathroom were both on the small side.

It was one of the best hotels I've been lately. In front of the sea, with a view to Vesuvio, beautiful views. Very ample room and bathroom. Excelent breakfast included. Free wi-fi. Personnal attention by the owners, which makes all difference. Close to the castle, the Humberto I gallery and the hop-on, hop off bus to the left, and to the main shopping neighbourhood to the right. Free drinks in the evening. Hotel with lots of character in its architeture and interior design. Perfect.
