Hotel Moderno  

The staff made this hotel! They were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The bed was also very comfortable and the shower was great! Overall, for a one or two night stay, this hotel met our needs.

We had a room on the side of the station and slept very badly - it was almost as if the station was just outside the window! The air conditioning didn't work. We were unfortunately next to a room where they apparently decided to have some sort of party and at 2am, my partner had to get up and tell them to keep the noise down.

The location was very good, only about 7 minutes from the station. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

We missed not having a private bathroom/toilet, but then what can you expect from euro 55 per night.

The very very squeeky beds,the shared bathroom,but this was very clean wasnt ideal, and the door didnt really feel secure and locked.The breakfast was very very basic,not much choice.The hotel didnt inspire me at all, we felt it was a bit rough, and needed updating.

Lots of noise on evenings with guests stomping up and down the stairs and so slamming doors. It was very unnecessary behaviour

This Hotel is really close to the train station and the airport. If you need a quick place to stay on on the way through Pisa..this is it.

Don't expect great service. This is a family owned business and the daughter is nice enough but the rest of the family won't go out of their way to help you out. Pisa is a nice stopover place to see but not much to do. The Leaning Tower was great but thats about it for the city.

Just 5 - 7 minutes walk from the Pisa Central Station. Breakfast was standard but OK. The room was old but clean. Overall the stay was nice.

We(me and my wife) got cold at night due to the poor conditioner while the outside temperature was 10 and not too cold! 2.In order to have good internet connection we had to use the main floor. no WiFi in the room 3.I don't like the staff behaviour 4.the price was lite bit high for this hotel 5.not recommend at all

Excellent location just a few minutes walking from the train station (linked to Pisa airport, Lucca, Florence). Nice staff, good breakfast.

Moderno was located near train station, and on the route for the airport bus, which also goes to leaning tower. It is a family run hotel, that is very welcoming and was very accommodating for our extra requests. Has 24hr reception, and free wifi, although you have to go down to reception to 'top up' more time. We had two rooms, both with comfortable bedding and practical facilities. The breakfast provided was more than adequate.

Good, family-run hotel with a very friendly, committed and caring staff. We stayed here before in October 2007 (two nights) and were quite satisfied back then too. This time we decided to stay longer: 5 days/4 nights - we also visited Lucca and Florence. Again time appeared too short … So we will have to come back, especially for a longer visit to Florence, and for Sienna and … But actually we don’t mind at all. The location is walking distance from Pisa Centrale train station (app. 3-4 minutes). To and from the Pisa Airport you can get easily by train (1 stop, 5 minutes) or bus, which stops almost in front of the hotel. Beds ar very comfortable. Room – it has its own sink - and shared bathroom were very clean. Breakfast is modest, but good; the cappuccino served is excellent! We were not bothered by any traffic noise. Walking to the main sights takes about 20 minutes – depending how many shops you can resist … - and is very interesting and pleasant indeed! Corso Italia, crossing the river Arno via Ponte di Mezzo (“Middle Bridge” – as it is in the centre of the city), the beautiful square Piazza Garibaldi, Borgo Stretto: all very recommended! And then you’ll reach the ‘grande finale’ …: Piazza dei Miracoli ("Square of Miracles")!
