Some of the worst hotels we have ever been. The boat of the hotel, very old one was stopped in the middle of canal and we wait 30 min for anather. When the boat was come we wait to fix the first boat... We also waited at the reception anather 30 min. We paid internet 27 eur per day!!! And it worked only in the lobby not in the rooms. The pool on the roof is so small and there is only 10 sunbeds on the roof fot such a big hotel. Also stuff was not so nice. Everything in this hotel was so bad.

The restored industrial building is amazing, though the decor is now quite globalized hilton. The Christmas lights on the tower made the hotel the biggest and brightest landmark. We happen to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Giudecca island, so we like the location. A real plus is the free boat shuttle service, a real cash saver for tourists without Venice fare cards. Charges for all 'extras' are exhorbitant... 10 euros for a bottle of water, 30 for a full breakfast. Our room was quite small, though perhaps that was due to getting a relatively cheap holiday special rate (the place is very big and probably has larger rooms with better views). Tv did not work at first and required technical intervention. Soap in bathroom had somebody else's hairs on it and had been put back in its cardboard packaging. Heating was set on overkill and was not easy to regulate. Restaurants not outstanding, but expensive. All in all, lots of shortcomings for what is supposed to be a luxury hotel.

The view from the hotel was just awesome. The location was perfect, just 10 minutes to St. Mark's square, and 5 minutes to get to the station across the water (Hotel provided the complimentary shuttle). Breakfast was outstanding with the enormous selection of meat/ cheese/ pastries/ juices etc. We stayed in the room located in the back of the hotel, with no view, but within a quiet surrounding. Room was large with bath and shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel to somebody who doesn’t want to stay in a busy touristy area of Venice but is looking for a quiet closeby location.

Amazing location, right on the river. And superb furnishings in the rooms. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite ! Excellent breakfast. Brilliant rooftop bar. Food service is really slow. We had lunch in the lobby cafe and they took 60 mins to serve us sandwiches! We had drinks in the rooftop bar (there were just 8 or so people there) and it took about 25 mins for the drinks to arrive.

Beautiful hotel located on an island a short boat trip from St. Marks square. The room was spotlessly clean and had virtually every convienience. The staff were very professional however a little too stiff and perhaps overly zealous, I prefer a little more discrete service. The lobby lounge bar was lovely however the prices were obscene: one pasta, a club sandwhich, 2 beers and a coke for 80 Euro!!! Find somehwere else to eat! Overall a very nice hotel and would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Venice. The cost of the lobby lounge food and drinks, catching a boat at 6 am to get to the airport, no indoor pool.

The space - at a premium in Venice. The fact that one overlooked Venice from across the Giudecca Canal, therefore no feeling of being 'hemmed in' - which can happen in this unique city. Bedroom decor a bit dated, for a hotel which only opened 5 years ago. However that's just being fussy

The location of the Hilton in Venice is great. Breakfast is great, and the beds were superbly comfortable. Bathroom in the deluxe rooms big and with everything one could desire. The free shuttle service worked alright for me but will be a pain in high season, Room service and mini bar are hopelessly over priced, and the mini bar is computerized so if you move something to make some space they charge this stuff to your room. Spa facilities are less than average. And only by reservation.

The location is convenient, although the access to the hotel might be improved. The style of the building is impressive The staffs were friendly but disappointing from a professional point of view (we almost missed our flight back home because of wrong information provided by the concierge about the transportation services) The extra service provided for the room price were non-existent (it is the first time I book in a hotel of this category and have to pay an extra for breakfast). We could not enjoy any of the special features of the hotel, such as the panoramic terrace, since everything was closed but for the clients who had booked overpriced New Year extras Generally speaking, not good value for money enough.

Great friendly service, quality of establishment, complimentary ferry across to San Marco No complaints - initially the staff did not include breakfast with our reservation as they said that the rate quoted on my booking through the website with breakfast was incorrect. After I had shown them my email with the breakfast confirmation, the staff honoured the website rate with breakfast for all 3 of us (Parents + 1 child).

Mould growing in the shower, door was also left unlocked after the cleaning of the room was done. A female bar/ restaurant staff was very rude. We ordered room service which was also incorrect and the choice of food was very limited. Went to have dinner in the only reasonable restaurant on site and was told it was booked out for a function, we returned the following night only to be told it was all booked out. When questioning another member of staff he told us that they we short staffed and couldn't open up the other inside section.

Lovely hotel with great views over the city with a stunning swimming pool. Room was great and of a good standard. The price of all food and drinks was quite simply ridiculous and more expensive than Saint Marks Square, and as the hotel was a little cut off from the main area of restuarents, etc made things a little incovenent so much so we had to wait for the first shuttle ferry boat in the morning to go and have breakfast, or pay 30 euros for a bowl of corn flakes ! Toasted ham sandwich 14 euros and that was cold ! 9 Euros for a glass of milk !!! So beware

Excellent, professional staff - very clean and good faciities. We also had the use of the Excecutive Lounge which provided snacks and all drinks free of charge, Beautiful rooftop swimming pool (unusual for Venice) with outstanding views. The location meant that each time you wanted to go to sightsee you had to travel across the lagoon. The hotel did provide a free shuttle service but if I travelled to Venice again I would prefer to stay on the mainland so that I could have more freedom. There is verey little to do on Giudecca Island as it is mostly residential. Bedrooms were a little small but for a short stay this did not matter.

I liked the last floor with a pool on the roof Difficult to get back to the hotel in the evening, the shuttle is once per hour, and the main thing is that they lost my reservation and we were forced to live in 1 big room instead of 2 deluxed rooms( we travelled with 2 children)

The hotel is very nice in nice location ideal for business and Venice sighseeing. Nice roof garden pool and bar. The shuttle service to S Marks square is very convenient and free of charge. The hotel staff is lousy. Housekeeping is slow. Our room wasnt cleaned until 2:00 p.m. although we were out since 9:00 and the cleaner forgot to put bath towels. Consierge didint know the shcedule of Alilaguna to the airport although he had in front of him the printed schedule , and I suspected he wanted to convince me to get a taxi at € 100,00 to get commission. The waiter at lunch forgot to serve me food ! Reception sevice was very good though.

“San Clemente is an oasis of tranquillity within of the bustle of Venice. We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 star comfort in the beautiful and quiet historic surroundings. Despite being on an island, it was convenient to reach all the tourist attractions as the hotel provides a comfortable water shuttle service to San Marco that runs every 20 mins and is no more than a 15 minute trip. Helpful and friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.” Fay, Newlands, Cape Town |
