The location is very convenient! The facilities are very good in details and staffs are professional, most of them! I was impressed when I order some hot water to the room within very short of time, the pot and the cups were very elegant and clean.

One of the staff for reception was less patience with my questions when I trying to order a water taxi on the day leave.

Felt more like a fancy NYC hotel than what we expected from Venice.

We had beautiful windows overlooking the Grand Canal but we could not open them due to all the MOSQUITOS!

The people were very nice and the location was great.

Paying 9 euros for a diet soft drink and 7 euros for what amounted to two small glasses of ice delivered to the room.

Central location to St Marco Square. Easy to walk around.

We had a large older room with charm. Even though the bathroom was large. The shower was a bathtub that didn't have a place to hold shower head. So you had to hold it yourself while showering.

Location and staff were excellent and hotel was quiet at night. We got to see the best firework display ever from the canal side restaurant - fantastic.

Like all Venice hotels it was expensive

The main lobby, and the outside terrace

The competence and attitude of the staff, especially the lady at check- in desk. The air about them as if they were doing us a favour was off- putting even to my very accommodating personality. They were also flustered at the smallest out-of-ordinary request, could not cope with a sudden influx of three people trying to check-in at the same time to their six staff members behind the desk, making phone calls, flapping about like idiots, stapling papers, opening files... One would have thought it was the opening of state parliament... Except the bald tall gentleman wearing spectacles, he was brilliant at handling situations. Promote him fast! Ridiculous, rubbishy and rip-off (the restaurant also overcharged on the breakfast and drinks we had in the bar)

Our third stay at this hotel. The same good quality all the time. Location is superb.

Long line for breakfast. Hot items were short supply and sometimes gone completely. This is the only one complain.

1)Easy access to all amenities and the Canal Taxis on the doorstep . 2)Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming but not too familiar. 3) Room very quiet and bedding changed everyday was great.

    1) Room was not what I expected - felt out of the "way" but overall, was very comfortable. 2) No quilts. 3) Prices varied each time with same alcoholic drinks.

Excellent location...right at the water bus stop and San Marco. Beautiful hotel, room truly comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. I was windblown, exhausted (and looking it) off the train from many hours before getting on the water bus, and didn't look nearly as coiffed as many of the guests arriving, but the staff at check in didn't look twice, or treat me any differently. The best hotels (where I stay when I can before/after being in the field), do that, and you have a haven. Make sure you try to get a drink outside on their patio in good weather, as the view is incomparable.

Breakfast, as others noted, was expensive in comparison with walking two minutes to get somewhere where prices are much less prohibitive.

    Location, atmosphere, amenities.

Front desk staff on evening of 2/15/2014. Upon registration we were given 1 room key and were encouraged to leave it at the front desk when leaving the hotel. (I suppose that would make it easier should either my wife or myself come back alone.) On the evening of the 15th we returned together to the hotel and were told that the key wasn't in its key box at the hotel desk and the only way that could be was that my wife had failed to turn it over to the hotel earlier. When she explained that she had, in fact, given it to a desk person she was told that that wasn't possible. You see the only way the key would not be there was that my wife had failed to turn it in. I intervened and was told the same thing. 3 different staff rudely said basically the same thing, one even went so far as to tell my wife that she should "go and find the key as there was no way they could be responsible." She left the desk heading for our room only to arrive there and find a gentleman keying our room and entering. Long story but the short of it is the hotel staff had, in the few short minutes before our arrival at the desk asking for our key, given a newly arriving guest our room and key! The 3 staff people just stood there, eyes wide and mouths agape never acknowledging their error or saying a word. I did receive a forced, begrudging apology after speaking with the concierge (same one as the previous night) upon checkout the next morning. The hotel was/is beautiful and you couldn't ask for a better setting. But some of the front desk staff haven't a clue about customer relations, common sense or even how to treat their guests.
