Location was excelent, 5 min walk to the Doumo, 5 min walk to Piazza Republica, 10-15 min walk to the Uffizi and Pont Vecchio. We stayed in room 27 that was at the front of the hotel (street side) the room was very good sized but a bit noisey with the window open, we were here in October so that was not a problem as the tempature was very nice. We would stay here again.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Internet access was extremely expensive, 10 Euros per hour no daily rate. On departure had to navigate luggage through a gravel patio and many steps, very difficult. Breakfast did not start until 7:30 am and no complimentary coffee, inconvenient with early plane departure.

The ambiance, furnishings and decor were very impressive and the location is excellent. The room was nice but very compact and the bathroom was too small.

We like the Monna Lisa because of its central location, ambiance, professional and cheerful staff, original artwork and its unusual urban configuration of several wings around a central outdoor courtyard. We are made to feel like guests of the palace rather than hotel visitors. The excellent breakfast is a drawing card.

The breakfast was excellent! The location was away from the busy areas and had many wonderful sitting areas to socialize in. The room decors were all unique and clean. Our room was off a small courtyard which landed up being the main connection area to the different areas of the hotel and we had many a night where guests would travel through in the, early am hours and wake us up or workers pass through with carts. Beds were a bit hard.

A beautiful setting - a very quiet green oasis in the center of Florence. High cost of Internet, 10 euros per hour; Staff was not as friendly as we had found in other hotels although they were knowledgeable.

The grounds were lovely - it felt like I was in "Italy" as I expected it to be. The room was small, cramped and we felt like we were given the "cheap room."

I stayed hear last in 1986 and I had always remembered how lovely and charming it was and still is. Most of all this stay, I was very surprised that it was much more busy with guest and still it was so peaceful and quite. The hotel is still as I always remembered and I'm happy for that since dear friends of mine (Mr.Dan Wright) took my recommindation and stayed there during our stay and they said it was everything I spoke about and I think they also loved their stay. I wil still continue to recommend the Monna Lisa and will stay again if and when I visit Firenze again. Charles Arato I really do not have any, except that maybe the breakfast selection could vary a little from day to day for people who stay longer like I do, but I did notice that most of your guest where only there for a day or two.

My initial reaction was one of disappointment - it is tucked away in a dreary side street, but the interior was a revelation. So elegant and ancient. Shabby chic described it perfectly. The staff were extremely attentive. The garden (although small) was a delight and a welcome area to escape the heat of the day. An easy walk took us to the Duomo and all the attractions of Florence. Although my niece raved about our room - very high ceilings and quite spacious with a beautiful bathroom, I was quite disappointed by the lack of light. We were on the ground floor on the side of the very noisy street and the room was extremely dark. (I was glad that I had taken my earplugs!) No view whatsoever through the barred window! We arrived after lunch and were unable to order a drink before 5 P.M.!!!

“As always, a fabulous experience at this beautiful little hotel. Lovely room with view of the Duomo, delicious breakfast buffet and fresh-squeezed orange juice on a terrace overlooking the city, drinks on the river-view terrace as the sun sets over the Arno. Great concierge, best possible location for shops as well as museums.” Gabrielle, New York |
