Hotel Monastero Del Lavello  

The hotel is in a very good position in front of the lake/river. The atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing since it is an ancient monastery. Rooms are big and clean, particularly the bed is very comfortable.

The building is lovely, an old monastery which has a fabulous history. Our room was very nice with high cielings and period features but also modern facilities.

The location wasn't the best if you want easy access to the lake, its about 45 mins to get to Varenna or Bellagio so depends if you don't mind the drive. It would be very difficult if you didn't have access to a car. Its not touristy area at all, which is good and bad as it was nice to see the bar busy with locals, but not much attractions for tourists.

Quaint place with a lake at the back of it - it is a converted monastery. free usage of bikes and you can go for a ride along the lake at the back of the monastery.

I liked the way the place has been converted , it s position besides the lake , the bike trail outside the premises that one can take using the hotel s bikes. It s clean and functional . No fuss. Staff are very friendly .

idealic surroundings, clean and not very touristifed

The staff was very friendly and they offered us a free 1st round without any restrictions! The room was spacious (two bedrooms and a 2 room toilet) and air conditioned! The room was clean, the hotel nice and there was ample parking. After a long drive we found the restaurant next door convenient and everyone enjoyed the pizza...it was even too big for some!

It was a bit out of the way and the hotel itself was not clearly indicated (look for the sign to the restaurant with the same name but run seperately), however, it was still very good in terms of price quality.

The hotel had a beautiful old world charm. The staff were so friendly and gave us refreshments as we waited to check in. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Having the use of push bikes for free was wonderful for our family of 3 boys. Also the proximity to lovely family friendly restaurants was perfect.

the hotel was beautiful and peaceful. The staff were exeptionally friendly and welcoming. We were able to borrow a couple of the bicycles and ride along the River Addy.

THe hotel was unique. Unlike any place I had ever stayed in before. It was a real treat to stay in a monastery dating from the 1000s. The rooms were unique and the staff was wonderful and very accommodating! It was also great to be beside the river the empties out from Lake Como and the market day on Tues AM. It also was unique to have a family room to accommodate 5 people! All and all, one of the most memorable stays.

Lovely place, old monastery, very peaceful and great atmosphere. Friendly staff with great popular cafe, adequate breakfast but not great. Unfortunately room set up means that if not have the very upstairs room then people above are very noisy at night - no insulation so every step, sound they make reverberates in your room. This is a real downfall of the hotel and for this alone could not recommend without insisting which room you have.

Rooms very noisy due to no insulation between floors. Upstairs room should not be allowed to be used until they fix this problem. Hotel is isolated from surrounding sites, a bit away from most areas, need a car to travel around. Very little to do apart from stroll along river banks and very limited eateries in immediate area of hotel. Relaxing during day though.

sehr nette Bedienung und perfekter Sevice. Gute Verständigung in englischer Sprache an der Rezeption. Sehr guter Zimmerservice auch bezüglich Handtücher und Bettwäsche

Tutto. E' caldo, accogliente, ben ristrutturato, ben ammibiliato, estremamente pulito, con camera e bagno spaziosi, con personale molto cordiale e disponibile. Vicino al fiume, ad un percorso ciclo-pedonale nonchè ad una pizzeria ed un ristorante in cui si mangia proprio bene (un po' caro). Di più non potevamo pretendere e, cosa non da poco conto, ad un prezzo molto conveniente.

La struttura antica e originale che ospita l'hotel (il monastero). La posizione fronte lago. La pace del luogo (no automobili). La camera, arredata di materiali naturali e con due finestre vista fiume. La gentilezza del personale. Il ristorante accanto veramente genuino e consigliabile (anche se non fa parte del complesso)

La camera era poco riscaldata.

Ambiente pulito, confortevole e famigliare. Angolo di lago suggestivo.
