The design of the the terrace/balcony is not what you quite expect - kind of modern concrete wall which is out of overall harmony. The addressof the hotel they give is not correct for navigation - Via Roma 1 should be used, and driving in Taormina is nightmare so be ready to spend some time for finding the hotel.

Views are uncomparable. Staff was curteous and receptive. Location is right near the centre of town.

Pool was not heated and it was late October so too chilly. Weather during that time of year is still nice so it would be good to have it heated.

Hotel Monte Tauro charged us for a room with a view. It was a very occluded view for the money. But worse, they parked our car and never told us they scraped the side which we didn't find out till we had travelled to the main land. I think this is very deceitful and would not stay there again.

The hotels location was ideal for both sightseeing and the seaside. The views are spectacular and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. As it is on a very steep hill, reception arrange for luggage to be taken up and down to the hotel. The restaurants are good, nothin the hotel and beside the pool. Excellent!

Access to the pool could be enhanced by installing graduated steps for the less mobile. Also it would improve if tea and coffee facilities were included in the room, or even adding drinks to the room service menu. Also, in the restaurant, the water was never hot enough to have a decent cup of tea!

Views were spectacular. Comfortable enough. Good location.

No free WiFi. No laundry. Room air conditioning not cold enough. No air conditioning in public areas such as lift and corridors. Driveway is a killer - you need to be fit to climb steps to main streets in Taormina! Very hard to drive your car into parking area.

The location was perfect for easy access to shopping and restaurants. the pool was wonderful.

The staff were all extremely friendly, polite, helpful and spoke excellent English. Service in every area were efficient, thorough and dependable. The room service could not be faulted and the room with it's fabulous sea views and layout were perfection. The bed was not hard as some describe but comfortable and supportive. Breakfast was a delight with an extremely wide choice and wonderful views over the bay and Etna. The pool was large, never crowded and was in the sun for most of the day. Car parking was extremely efficiently managed by staff. The location and views are stunning, probably the best in Taormina. Very short walk into town has been criticised for steepness but if you couldn't manage it you shouldn't be visiting Taormina which is full of steep winding streets and lanes. As you can read from the above we had an absolutely wonderful holiday in Taormina staying at the Monte Tauro hotel. Very highly recommend. Thank you to everyone.

We could not fault the hotel, location or staff but be warned the driving in Taormina is a nightmare and the access for cars to the hotel takes some getting used to! Navigation around Taormina is not easy and sat nav is not always very helpful!

Very pleasant short break ... Friendly, helpful staff and the pool attendant was exceptional with his attention to detail for every guest. Lovely hotel for a quick relaxation hit, well placed.

My only comment would be to make sure that you get a room that is in the middle of the floor as opposed to the far end which is where the single rooms are. This ensures a better view of the sea.

Stunning location in a beautiful town with lots of nice, reasonable restaurants.

The location was perfect - a few hundred meters from the main street - and with a fantastic sea view from all rooms and superb restaurants just round the corner. The staff was always smiling and very helpful in all matters, incl. Car parking as the access by car is a bit tricky. We would definately book this hotel again when we returm to Taormina.

Service was poor. Not very accommodating and not friendly. Beds were rock hard. Value for money not as good as we expected.

Shower is in a very small bathtub with large faucet below the shower, which makes showering even more difficult. Bathroom gets all flooded! We asked the hotel to dry it, but all we had was a towel n the flloor to let it dry naturally....

Location at the top of a mountain overlooking the sea was something I will remembr and the added bonus of waking up and seeing mount etha with its smoking top was glorious being at the corner of the hotel it afforded the scenery and the luxury we wanted with our break the room was spacious and clean with a jacuzzi bath it was fantastic and to be able to take your drink out onto a very lage balcony in the evening was superb the staff were very courteous and very helpful in all our requests would return again and rebook room 503

The internet availability was erratic and variable. This was a big inconvenience and there was no need for it in this day and age.

Rooms are simply decorated but fairly spacious and functional, cleaned every day. The terrace offers a magnific view. Breakfast offers a large choice of quality products. The staff is very friendly. We would definetely stay in Monte Tauro if we come again in Taormina and already recommended the hotel to our friends

Location, Location, Location !!! Every room has a balcony and ocean views. The room decor is very nice and what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The overall hotel decor is good - there are a few areas that are a bit dated or tatty eg. 2 of the chairs in the lobby are should be replaced as they are too worn. The hotel is a short walk from the main corso. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs or an area you could cook hard or soft boiled eggs. Fresh juice, fruit, breads, meats. Oh and the only place I stayed that had Prosseco on the juice bar at breakfast. Free Wi fi in the lobby, and I my room was on the 4th floor and I could get the wi fi. I would make sure you ask for a room on the right hand side of the hotel as this has better uninterruped views of the ocean.This place for the money, given how expensive Taormina is excellent. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel you should pay for a 5 star hotel. Great Restaurant - Trattoria Trattirua Tiramisu, via Apollo Arcageta - one of the 2 best meals we had in Sicily.

There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. However, a few points for consideration - we travelled in April and the hotel does not turn on the airconditioning. Given the cool temperature in the evening and lovely temperature during the day, there is no need for the airconditioning. To cool and air the room down before I went to bed, I left the door open while I got ready for bed, that cooled the room more than enought. The hotel location whilst spectacular means there is a reasonably decent incline to walk between the road and the hotel entry - about 2 mins walk...i did think that it may have been a bit of a challenge for someone who had issues with mobility and the property would not be suitable for someone in a wheel chair.

We were looking for a 4 star hotel in Taormina with good sea views and nice rooms. We staryed in a Junior Suite which is double the size of a regular room but the regular rooms were just as nice quality. All rooms had balconies and sea views. The hotel is very contemporary in style and we liked it a lot. A good swimming pool. The staff were general very friendly and helpful, only the breakfast staff were a little less smiley but still polite. Only complaints would be the beds were bit hard for us, otherwise a great hotel.
