“Staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you. The hotel had a good breakfast but the best thing it was right in the middle of town and the restaurants. Also all rooms had a sea view and a balcony.”

Notwithstanding previous negative comments made by guests, this hotel is fantastic. The location was great with outstanding views. Close to a lovely small town with lots going on. The staff were first rate and the hotel comfort and cleanliness could not be faulted. Breakfast was top class with lots of choices. True, this hotel is not next to the beach, we knew that because the hotel information sheet notified us that before we booked. This hotel is a must if you want peace and quiet, great views, good food and friendly obliging staff. Access to the hotel is difficult. It would be useful if directions to the hotel indicated that travel/access should be via via roma.

Location, Location, Location !!! Every room has a balcony and ocean views. The room decor is very nice and what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The overall hotel decor is good - there are a few areas that are a bit dated or tatty eg. 2 of the chairs in the lobby are should be replaced as they are too worn. The hotel is a short walk from the main corso. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs or an area you could cook hard or soft boiled eggs. Fresh juice, fruit, breads, meats. Oh and the only place I stayed that had Prosseco on the juice bar at breakfast. Free Wi fi in the lobby, and I my room was on the 4th floor and I could get the wi fi. I would make sure you ask for a room on the right hand side of the hotel as this has better uninterruped views of the ocean. This place for the money, given how expensive Taormina is excellent. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel you should pay for a 5 star hotel. Great Restaurant - Trattoria Trattirua Tiramisu, via Apollo Arcageta - one of the 2 best meals we had in Sicily. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. However, a few points for consideration - we travelled in April and the hotel does not turn on the airconditioning. Given the cool temperature in the evening and lovely temperature during the day, there is no need for the airconditioning. To cool and air the room down before I went to bed, I left the door open while I got ready for bed, that cooled the room more than enought. The hotel location whilst spectacular means there is a reasonably decent incline to walk between the road and the hotel entry - about 2 mins walk...i did think that it may have been a bit of a challenge for someone who had issues with mobility and the property would not be suitable for someone in a wheel chair.

We were looking for a 4 star hotel in Taormina with good sea views and nice rooms. We staryed in a Junior Suite which is double the size of a regular room but the regular rooms were just as nice quality. All rooms had balconies and sea views. The hotel is very contemporary in style and we liked it a lot. A good swimming pool. The staff were general very friendly and helpful, only the breakfast staff were a little less smiley but still polite. Only complaints would be the beds were bit hard for us, otherwise a great hotel.

We really enjoyed the location, however it would be perfect if the hotel had a couple of lifts!!! Spent far too much time waiting for lifts, only 1 in an hotel that is dependent on them. Bar was a bit un -atmospheric, however this didn't matter as its so close to town. Not sure whether w got the 'superior' double room we paid for, as they all looked the same!!!!

The staff are helpful and friendly. The setting is magnificent. It is situated very close to the beautiful gardens in Taormina and to the restaurants and shops yet peaceful and quiet. The breakfast is excellent as is the pool and surrounds.

The location of this hotel provides spectacular views over the bay of Naxos and is walking distance to all Taormina has to offer. After a room change request our balcony also allowed us to experience some fantastic views. The breakfast included was very substantial and bacon and eggs cooked to order was available. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Confusing address when using gps to find the hotel - better to use via Roma as the address. Wifi only available in limited public areas and of poor quality. The rooms are a bit tired looking.

The only thing I liked about the Hotel Monte Tauro was the location, very central and close to restaurants and shops. There was a nice view of the bay which was unfortunately ruined by bad weather. We did not enjoy our stay at the Monte Tauro and will not be recommending the hotel to our friends and family. We found the staff to be extremely rude and unfriendly, except for one really nice girl who was very helpful. The rooms were quite small and we did not feel we got value for money as we felt the rooms were overpriced for their average size. We asked for a Superior Double room and we were given a room with two single beds. When I asked could we possibly change rooms, the guys behind reception reluctantly gave us a key to another room, but wouldn't even lift his head to say hello or goodbye anytime we passed him by during the rest of our stay, just ignoring us. Unfortunately during our stay, the weather was really bad and rain was heavy so it meant staying in our room more than we would have liked, there was only one English speaking channel and no tea or coffee supplied. The water we were to use for washing and showers was brown and obviously dirty. The bar was boring and there was no entertainment or music provided for guests who were stuck in the hotel during bad weather. The food was average and the drinks way overpriced. We were hoping to have our wedding in Sicily next year, and possibly staying at the hotel with over 100 guests, but we will not be returning to The Hotel Monte Tauro.

Piękny widok na zatokę I częściowo Etnę. Znakomite, obfite śniadanie jak na włoskie zwyczaje! Jajecznica, kiełbaski, sery, wędliny, wybór pieczywa I słodkich wypieków, warzywa, owoce, świeżo wyciskane soki, lokalne dżemy I miody w wielu smakach, ciasta, ciasteczka, jogurty, a nawet mleko migdałowe. Mrówki w łazience. Internet w pokoju - połączenie zostało przerwane po minucie, a mimo to hotel naliczył opłatę.
