Hotel Montebello Splendid  

Very quiet. Nice for a young couple to relax. The whole place feels like a big home. Terrace is very nice and relaxing too. Staff is very mature and professional. Limited number of staff but were enough for the job at the time; place was not crowded. Service is five stars indeed. Location is €10 by taxi to the duomo and most other places, which was excellent for us given the price of the room.

Room furniture and decoration is 4-star only. Bed should be more comfortable for a 5-star hotel. Chairs in the balcony of the room were terrible although spacious. Shower is not the good either; not enough water pressure. Overall room and bath are a bit too small.

The rooms were clean. Staff were great. The hotel has managed to maintain high standards of accommodation at a lower than usual price that we would expect to pay for luxury hotels.

Everything was great, but if I could point out one thing, perhaps the interior finishes (red wallpaper) inside the rooms is slightly outdated and the hotel might consider one day replacing those finishes.

This is our 3rd year as guests of Montebello Splendid. I travel with my husband and two young children. The facilties are beautiful. The staff I cannot speak any more highly. They go out of their way to help in whatever way they can. While on this trip my stroller wheels broke and the staff called all hotels for a loaner stroller to use on the rest of our trip. In addition, they temporarily fixed the wheel so that we could transport the children on back home. I will forever be a loyal hotel guest here whenever I have to travel to Florence. It is close to amenities, train station and walking distance to the city centre.

Location furniture and very clean hotel and staff.

The wi-Fi in the booking it is free when you at hotel the give up to150MB it will finsh within 1/2 hours. Recommend to keep it free for 24 hours.

the room was fantastic, huge, beautiful, very comfortable. the staff were always helpful, and the restaurant was amazing! we would recommend the Montebello Splendid to anyone

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful checking our bags when we arrived early. The bar staff was friendly and helpful in serving our drinks in the courtyard for late-night refreshments. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping out room clean while we stayed there, and the room was quiet, comfortable, and just what we needed for our three- night stay in Florence. The location was convenient to the train station, and it was a short walk to to the open-air tour bus stop. We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard for morning coffee and drinks in the evening, and the room was luxuriously appointed.

The reception staff asked us to pay the city tax in cash at check-out, which we did not want to do. I thought it was bad form to ask this, but they quickly complied when I asked it be added to the bill instead. There were not enough plugs in the room to charge all our devices (2 iPads, 2 phones, and one camera battery), which was true in almost every hotel we stayed in Italy, so I would advise bringing or buying a power strip to use to remedy this situation. I thought the breakfast at 20 Euros each was overly expensive, and the wait staff not very helpful, especially at that price. Breakfast food was just average, so I would advise eating elsewhere. We did not eat in the restaurant.

The staff was absolutely unfriendly and impolite.Too far from city center . Brekfast was also awful: bread not fresh, poor choise , concerved fruit etc.

Building of the hotel is beautiful, with huge windows, big terrace to have a breakfast in room, a lot of old things in good condition. Room was clean, bed and bed linen are one of the best I've ever seen!

Breakfast was poor - no eggs or vegetables, just bread jams milk cereals and orange juice. Other day we ordered breakfast in room with omelette and it was ok. They have too many people on reception desk, but twice they didn't cope with our tasks

A true five star- facility, look, professional staff - room is quiet large for Italian standard and a beautiful garden to walk in. Restaurant accommodated us when we arrived late ( at 11 pm to give us a nice meal)

It is 15 minutes walk to the center of the down - in Florence - it can be considered to be a bit of out of the way - however- really it is only 15-20 minutes walk - and the hotel is closed to the train station so out side area where the hotel is is not an upscale neighborhood- kind of odd to locate a five star hotel there.

The staff are available if requred but don't really go out of their way otherwise. I would call this hotel 4 star in terms of service. I also felt that at the price we payed breakfast should have been included. Breakfast at 30 euros per person is really not appropriate. Having said that ...we found a little coffee shop less than 5 min away and had a light breakfast for 9 euros for the 2 of us

I do not often contribute to these reviews but I feel that it would be unfair not to compliment the hotel. Firstly the room that I stayed in was quite excellent. Lovely high ceiling, extremely comfortable bed, wide variety of channels on TV and lovely bathroom with top class shower. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The location was very good. The food in the hotel was again top class. I had a difficult trip to the hotel and I must say that it was such a relief to see the top class hotel and fantastic bedroom when I arrived.

The hotel is great, it matched my expectation for a 5 star hotel in Firenze. The room is very comfortable, with good space, nice decoration, silent at night, good amenities, friendly staff. Internet access is free and works well. I didn´t have breakfast at the hotel, so I can´t give an opinion about that. The overall hotel facilities are very pleasant, very well mantained. The distance from main spots in the city is OK for those who are willing to walk for 10 minutes.

La zona tranquilla, ma, allo stesso tempo nel cuore di Firenze.

Sul sito assicuravano parcheggio in loco senza bisogno di prenotazione. Io l'ho richiesto E......NON Avevano posto!!!!!! Per un 5 stelle (e ne ho girati) é un abominio. Vista la macchina che ho ci sono rimasto male.carente per questo.

Il fatto che in un 5 stelle ci possa essere un cameriere che apostrofi "violentemente" un ospite durante la colazione davanti ad altri ospiti, fa sì che il suddetto hotel scenda di almeno 3-4 categorie, e si classifichi non come 5 stelle ma come una bettola di periferia....
