Friendly staff, historic building converted to B&B, easy walk around downtown Napoli. Was a great place,to stay for New Years.
The place is really nice, and especially the breakfast: the owner makes a wonderful pastiera Napoletana!
It was a bit expensive!
Bed was spacious and comfortable, bathroom well-equipped. Room felt more home-like and less like a motel.
Considering that it's nearly impossible to find a good breakfast in Italy, the limited breakfast options here weren't too surprising, but maybe a bit more limited than most Italian hotels.
Great room with balcony & excellent bathroom in a character building. Husband & wife very friendly --serve a fine breakfast! A special kindness--brought me food night before as I had early train to catch on my last morning!
A little hard to find--- otherwise nothing!
The location was superb, the staff very friendly and supportive, the room was cleaned and the bed made every morning, a refrigerator with free bottled water was for everyone's use
The window panes were thin, and located on the 4th floor, the room could get quite warm. There was noise from the street. Closing the balcony door with its thin window panes would have no measurable effect, but make the room stuffier and warmer. So we left the balcony doors open; my wife didn't mind the noise, I slept comfortably with ear plugs. So, if you happen to be noise sensitive and arrive at a warm time of the year, bring some ear plugs and everything will be fine
Great location! Nice accommodations right in the heart of old Naples, and a family - run B&B with great charm and atmosphere. Very thoughtful and helpful hosts, and the breakfasts were very good, with those delicious home made Italian cakes! Our host was very helpful with info about sights to see, and how to get to places. He even offered to take us in his very comfortable car to our next stop,Positano. We had a delightful ride with him,he was also an excellent tour guide! We actually came back to stay for an additional night after our visit to the Amalfi Coast, and the next day his son took us to the air port.
The only thing we regret is that we did not realize that the B&B was on the 4th floor! If we had known that, we would not have been so worried, when we arrived at the address and did not see anything looking like a B&B. But once we were inside the court yard, and took the small outside elevator to the 4th floor, we got a warm welcome and felt very comfortable.
I think this hotel offers excellent value for money. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and have put a lot of thought into how they can offer a good service for guests (e.g. providing communal kitchen / tea and coffee-making facilities). Wonderful home-made cakes for breakfast! The room was clean and comfortable.
It is difficult to find the hotel as there is no external sign, just a small nameplate. I also found that the amount of street noise made it very difficult to sleep (even with the windows shut) - but the location is reflected in the price. I would still recommend this as a place to stay in Naples but would advise earplugs.
The B&B was in a perfect location and just a short walk to the city centre, restaurants, bars and sea front. It is a family run B&B and the owners are lovely and so friendly. Loved the breakfast and the room was clean and comfortable.
We had trouble connecting to the wi-fi. Didn't trouble the owners with this (my Italian isn't good enough to explain the problem!) but it didn't prove much of an issue as so many bars, cafes and restaurants offer free wi-fi anyway.
the owners are very kind and available to satisfy all guests'needs, wifi works excellent, the room was a little bit small but clean. Breakfast was amazing with everything you would like to eat.
some nights were noisy because of the neighbours but it doesn't happen every night and it's not the owners's fault.
The B&B is a haven after the full nature of Naples. The owners go out of their way to please. There is information available and access to making a tea/coffee. The breakfast is well presented with offers of another cup of espresso etc. The aircon was good as was the quality of bathroom amenities. Security was excellent.
I initially found the B&B difficult to find with no obvious sign and it doesn't appear like a B&B from its street presence. It is part of a large building which is typical Naples but which I didn't realize at the time. It's decidedly run down and seedy from the outside and on the stairs but is not a problem after the initial feeling I was in the wrong street. The street was a little noisy but fine with earplugs.
Fast WLAN, the owners are very friendly, clean, good breakfast, the location is quite central.
My room ("Federica") faced a street with a bar/disco which on Saturday night played loud music which was clearly audible (imagine music playing in the room while you are in the kitchen or something) even with closed windows and earplugs. Hence, I could not get any sleep until the police arrived at around 2:30am to stop the mayhem. Since I was there only this one night, I do not know how frequent this situation is. Other than the above, it is a good b&b.
Its everything you have in your mind about italian culture.. The buildings, the streets and even the windows.. Very simple but very beautiful which is why i love it
The location was the only bad thing about it. There is dante metro station about 5 to 7 minuets but still I only had 1 day and a half.. I missed seeing a lot if things.. But if you have more time than i did, then it wouldnt be a problem.. U'll get used to the bus or the train
Monteoliveto B&B is run by lovely, kind people. They are all very friendly and keen to be helpful. The B&B itself is beautiful, kept perfectly clean and with lots of attention to detail in the décor. We had a nice big room with a big ensuite bathroom. We were served a decent breakfast every morning to set us up for the day ahead. Staff were always happy to give advice on transport, restaurants and places to visit. Overall, a real gem - very reasonably priced considering everything we got out of it. Would consider going back ourselves!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for seeing the historical centre of the city and for getting the the ferries.
Great family run place. Great breakfast/coffee.
Gigi was an awesome host, very kind and helpful. Location was central, in the historic part of the city. The buliding is very authentic, we really liked it. They tidied up our room every single day, it was a pleasure to come home to the perfectly clean room every day. Breakfest was fine, I could totally recommand the place!
Wifi was not working for a couple of days but as we got to know it was under repairation.
Clean large room helpfull couple good brearfast
The couple running the B&B were very friendly and helpful. The room was large, good large private bathroom, good breakfast. Very fast Internet. Great location
the owners where very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and spacy!
Unfortunately Angela did not speak any English so it was difficult to communicate. Her son was there the second day of our stay and he was able to speak very good English though.
The owner was friendly and helpful.
It is in an ancient, crumbling building up a smelly side street with grafitti and washing hanging out the windows. There were builders working on the 3rd floor and we could hardly see through the dust in the inner courtyard area. Words fail me to describe the lift. It must be from the 18th century. Some of the panels on the outside were missing. I walked the 4 flights every time. There was no tiling in the inner courtyard areas, just old cement that was black in parts. The B&B had been cheaply renovated, laminate floors, cheap sheets and towels which were clean. The bathroom did not have normal plumbing, just some machine attached to the toilet which processed the waste from the toilet, very small shower and sink also. Every time the bathroom was used even for hand washing, the machine started up and the place stank of sewerage. Quite disgusting. Breakfast room was dull, breakfast was basic. Glad we were only booked in for 1 night. We did not feel comfortable. Would never return. The area around had lots of beggars and homeless people sleeping rough.
Very good location! The building is an old style, close to the main attraction and to the metro station. Clean, quiet, and a wonderful breakfast prepared from Angela. Gigi and her are good hosts!!!
Staff is very nice. Wifi works really well. Facilities were good and worked well.
Everything was perfect. The owners were perfect, friendly, nice, professional. Excellent breakfast. Clean, big room, liked the location.
As a Bed and Breakfast it has comfortable rooms. The localization in the city is good.
Located in a narrow street on the third floor of an old building
The staff is very very nice and warm. Breakfast is nice. Very near the port, only 4 minutes walk and near the subway station, only 2 minutes walk.
A lot of B&B are in the same building, it is in the 5 piano while I did not know that. It cost me a lot of time to check every floor. But it is not a problem when you check it with the hotel before.
