Slightly far away from downtown. Better have car, it's difficult to reach or go out without car.
The hotel is located at a small upper hill. The view is actually 360degree, and full church view. We loved it very much. Facility is good also, have almost everything, including free laundry machines.
-a very long steep walk down and up into the walled city -all windows should have screens - many mosquitoes -this property is more of a wedding venue
-Spectacular views from very private property -Host was pleasant, responsible, and helpful -a great setting if you need total quiet and/or space for groups, indoors & outdoors
Bed mattress - could be newer
Stunning location on the hill surrounded by old growth cypresses & fruit trees, finely groomed garden with grill & relax facilities as well as historic building with interior itself made it a really relaxing stay with a large portion of joy to esthetic senses. Apartment for two people - spacious, well-furnished with taste in coherent, rustic style with attention to even very small details. Kitchen facilities enabling preparation of non-sophisticated meals and dinners, clean bathroom with shower and what was important with always hot water. Last not not least land lady - Stephanie - nice and helpful, sharing with us some interesting, tourist info about the vicinity and region.
Our room had a ton of mosquitoes. We were attacked our first night and had to cover ourselves in bug spray. Also no AC or fans and with the bugs keeping the windows open was problematic. This is the only reason this isn't an excellent rating.
I loved the view and the location. Plus, the building was small and felt secluded without being so far from the town center.
Location. Environment, Friendliness, Staff, everything was perfect
The location is perfect-set back and quiet but only 10 minutes walk to Montepulciiano. A perfect setting with lovely outdoor space
It's an apartment with no concierge, no restaurant, no breakfast, nothing other than what you buy from a market and bring home. The wifi was spotty at best. The TV was 13" and outdated. We couldn't even watch the world cup. The kitchen is scarcely stocked and the bed is a not so comfortable mattress that in the USA would be considered a pull out. The place is much more appropriate for locals who go there for a week to vacation and have a car but not for tourists who are looking for conveniences.
The view gets a 10/10. It's stunning and takes your breath away. The property has areas you can picnic/dine at while watching a view you can't get enough of. There's a market across the street.
The location was beautiful. The facility itself was so charming and well manicured. The views of Saint Baggio and Motepulciano were breath taking.
We felt the whole place hadn't been used much lately and the room we had could have been cleaner, we suspect it may have been empty for a while.
We liked the location, Stephanie was very welcoming. The place was very quiet with only 3 rooms taken whilst we were there.
Stefania is the coolest! We had such a great time in Tuscany. We highly recommend Montorio.
Montorio is a beautiful property. The gardens are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine and soaking up the Tuscan countryside. There are fabolous views of the San Baglo and Montelpuciano. Room was equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Ov, would highly recommend.
If you intend on spending lots of time in Montepulciano town it is a steep walk up a hill away, but that didn't worry us at all.
Montorio has one of the most stunning locations I have experienced on my travels - the view from the common outside area needs to be seen to be believed. We loved having breakfast / apperitvo out there each day. A little ways from town but worth it for the tranquility and the view. Great location to use as a base for driving around to other Tuscan gems nearby.
Loved everything about monitorio Comfortable with attention to every detail. The owner was welcoming and helpful. Hated to leave after seven days.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
The position which is excellent for views etc, also it is very central for visiting nearby places.
