A five star review does not do this hotel justice. I have just come back from a seven day stay in Italy, 4 days in Rome and 3 days in Sperlonga and by the time we had seen all of the sights in Rome, we were about ready to get out of the oven. We headed via train to Fondi Sperlonga, and then caught a bus from there to the old town Sperlonga (which was all very easy and cheap.) We had already phoned ahead to the hotel and the owner, Alessandro, kindly picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to the hotel. The hotel is a brand new, fully air conditioned paradise, with spectacular views looking out into the sea. The rooms are all newly fitted out, with a very comfortable bed, great ensuite and a reasonably priced mini fridge with everything in you could possibly want. The balconies all have a terrace area with garden wicker furniture, and a lawn, looking out onto the sea. Once unpacked, the owner drove us free of charge down to the best local beach, where we received a discounted price for entry (about half price) and spent most of the day here. This beach, which is semi associated with the hotel, has a fantastic lunch menu in the restaurant, which we sampled once as a treat, however their paninis are very tasty and reasonably priced - as is their beer! The beach itself is sandy, with clear blue water that is the perfect temperature, and on one of their sun loungers I can honestly say I did not want to return to work this week! A free shuttle bus back to the hotel at 17.30 or 18.30 provided a hassle free experience. Alessandro and his team took great pleasure in asking about our day and making sure we knew the best places to eat at night, hand drawing us a map of the old town showing the many amazing sea food and Italian restaurants to take your pick from.
