I read a bunch of the reviews for the Morpheus and based on some of the comments, I was assumed we'd feel like we were doing a bit of suffering for a cheap Rome hotel room. But we were really pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The rooms are small but they're clean and appropriately furnished. Our bathroom had been recently updated, so that was great. The staff was really helpful and our kids loved the breakfast--it wasn't anything fancy but yogurts, breads, salami and cheese and other sweet cakes were all plentiful and there was a nice woman making coffees to order. They give you 15 free minutes of Internet per day at a kiosk near the front desk and I didn't think the Wi-Fi was expensive--3 Euro for 24 hours. And as everyone has said, the location was great. We walked everywhere and only took the metro once when we went to the Vatican. Warning: it's hard to find. There's just a tiny gold plaque on the building (I was imagining a big sign) and the hotel's front desk is on the fifth floor. That threw us off a bit but eventually we got there!

The staff were super friendly and accomodating. Location was brilliant so near everything. We walked everywhere with ease. Lovely area of Rome - near Termini so handy going to and from airport but far enough away from the roughness of Termini. The room was lovely, nice high ceilings and a lovely shower. Breakfast was minimalist to say the least, but was perfect for the price we paid. Will definitely stay here again. P.S we loved the lift -so authentic, made it all so quaint and Italian!

My partner and I were looking for a cheap place to stay in Rome, but preferred not to stay in a hostel near the train station. I read some reviews of Morpheus Rooms and wasn't sure what it would be like, but we were very happy with the value we got for our money. The room was very adequate and clean, the location was very central and in a fine neighborhood, and the staff were particularly helpful. For the price, it was a very comfortable place to stay and we would stay there again. The water pressure in the shower wasn't too great, but for the price we can't really complain.

Very good breakfast. Room was basic. Walking distance to termini station and close to piazza de la republica metro stop. Friendly staff. They charge you for wifi but you can use the computer int he lobby for free as long as it isnt for over 15 minutes. Staff helps you book tickets to go to attractions and you can print them at the reception. Not many restaurants or pubs around.

I went in Rome with my husband and one more couple. Each couple was staying to a double room with private bathroom. The rooms were cute and clean. The stuff was sufficient helpful and kind. The breakfast was very nice and the location of the hotel ideal!just behind Via nazionale. You can visit all the monuments on foot. Beside the hotel there is a bakery and behind of it at the via nazionale a supermarket. The hotel area is well secured and you can walk alone all day without feeling threatened. I did not liked the fact that the lift is very old and at our last day, we had to carry our baggages 5 floors until the exit because the lift was out of order. They have to look after the lift!

It is easy to access from Termini, onward access to the city was also very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast coffee. The hotel was very clean. Would recommend to others. The bed was a little hard.

1. Kind and helpful staff; 2. Clean; 3. Convenient location 1. Our room was practically without a window (well, there was a small window in the corridor do the bathroom, 100x20 cm, looking to a court-year and almost covered by the window-cover of the adjacent room) - room 7 on the 4th floor. 2. At peak hours, water pressure was too low in the shower; 3. Poor noise isolation, especially bothering when you get noise neighbors; 4. Although I had specifically requested a room with two separate beds, we got a room where the beds were about 7-8 cm apart, with wardrobes on both side of the beds that did not allow the beds to be moved further apart.

The location and price of this accommodation are the 2 reasons to stay here. Trying to get good value for money is hard and accommodation is expensive. You also get what you pay for. The Morpheous Rooms were in a fantastic location and the price is hard to beat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and really tried to make our stay a good one. Breakfast was one of the best that we had in Italy and the coffee is good. We decided to stay here because I had my elderly parents with us and wanted to be right in the centre of Rome. We were in easy walking distance of all the major sites (except the Vatican which was an easy 5 stop train ride away). The rooms were small, the beds and pillows were a bit hard and the decor was very dated but it was clean. We only really slept here so it was ideal for us. The hot water was a bit hit and miss and the water pressure was terrible. There was no where for us to heat up milk for the baby or make a cup of tea until the kitchen opened at 7.30am. The beds were a little uncomfortable.

Location was convenient to explore main sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not very comfortable to familys with babys (baby carriage) because the front door have a high obstacle, rooms are on the 4 and 5 floor and the elevator is to narrow. Abstinent room conditions and breakfast. A bit noisy in mornings on 4 floor because of breakfast. To find this hotel you must be attentive. It's more bed&breakfast institution than hotel.

Great location, and someone on the staff is there 24 hours and they spoke English which was a plus. It's located on the 4th and 5th floor, but luckily there is an elevator even if it is tiny. Beds were uncomfortable and the shower really small.

Staff was friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was good on the first day. Location is allright. Hotel is on 4th and 5th floor. There is a lift (which did not work the first day), but it is a very old one and we had not much confidence in it. Room wasvery small and dark. You cannot open the shutters. Room was clean, but just so. No water to wash, or to have a decent shower. Some mornings no water at all. The beds are extremly hard, so you wake up and feel very stiff. Breakfast was good the first day, but it was getting worse during the week. Less choice, not enough places to sit... Location is allright. You can walk to the colosseum +/- 25 minutes or to the Trevi fountain +/- 20 min, but the area was supposed to be full of nice little restaurants etc at this is not the case. So overall very expensive for not much comfort.

Great location, close to the train station (can walk) but far enough away so as not to be in a dodgy location. Could easily walk to Colosseum/Pantheon/Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese. A direct bus to St Peters/Vatican is on the next street over. Good restaurants nearby, great recommendation of restaurant from the staff. Was great to be given a map of Rome on arrival with info on places to visit and bus number for the Vatican. Safe area, not too touristy. Mini Market was nearby, was good to have a bar fridge in the room. Would definitely stay here again. Not a luxury hotel but basic, comfortable and clean, you're in Rome you shouldn't be spending your time in the hotel! Breakfast was a bit on the lean side, but maybe I just eat alot!

“It worked out very well for us in the end. It was very close to the route 64 bus stop which linked us to Roma termini easily. The apartment was 5 - 7 min walk to the vatican square and it was a vey nice hangout spot during summer nights. Privacy of our 'apartment' and terrace was the main posiives. The apartment itsel was very quaint and cosy. Basic were all there including an air conditioner. No complaints. We saved a lot of money here by cooking for ourselves for the 5 days we were there.” Hariharan, Heidelberg |
