excellent location of this hotel, a short bike ride from the old city center, but allowing you to relax on the private sand beach after the activities of the day! ideal for couples or families with older children, who want to combine sightseeing and relaxing. very friendly staff (the hotel manager is also part of the owner family and personally makes sure that your stay just the way you like it). very good breakfast buffet: you start your day eating fruit, cereals, cakes or typical Italian food (salami, ham, cheese) while looking at the fish in the sea. Possibility to have lunch or dinner there too. Rooms are impeccable, well cleaned and with modern appliances. Perfect high-end hotel for travelers who want to feel almost like home while on holiday! really recommended...
location setting beach waterside dining and drinks
Very difficult to describe how good this hotel is, we stayed for 4 nights in early Sept. Room, Breakfast, Staff, Private beach were all excellent. Great location and a pleasant 10/15 min stroll into Ortigia for shopping and restaurant. An absolute must for anybody visiting the area!!
Nothing, just wished we had stayed longer.
Setting beautiful on beach. Staff and service excellent. Very relaxing and stress free enviroment. Would highly recommend.
Room had no storage. There was a large wardrode with almost no space. A set of drawers would be helpful. Wifi very patchy. Only seemed to work downstairs.
Everything from the decoration to the beach facilities, the staff hospitality, the breakfast, the terrace, etc.
bathromm size and storage space in rooms could be larger
Great location, private beach, neutral hamptons meets Sicily decor, cheerful owner
Small bathrooms, not enough storage space for clothes or towels. Staff young and eager but forget orders at times
Beach Immaculately clean Decor Privacy
Pricey drinks, including coffee and water Staff friendly but unschooled in etiquette
Good breakfast, nice little private beach area, friendly staff
we had a room facing the streetside which was a bit noisy at night, we could not leave the window open. If available go for aroom with sea view to avoid the street noise. Breakfast started at 8:00, not good for early birds or for the ones who hve to leave early to catch a flight. A special arrangements for those would have been nice
Lovely looking hotel, great little private beach and fabulous breakfast right by the sea.
The owners showed absolutely no interest in their guests. They spent the whole time watching the staff on CCTV or monitoring them from a deckchair with walkie-talkies, waiting for them to make the slightest mistake and then berating them constantly. Subsequently the staff were terrified and this was an uncomfortable experience. The hotel was far too expensive for what it was and although the breakfast was really good, the lunch and evening menu was very poor. We also paid an awful lot more for a room with a private terrace but found when we got there we had to share the terrace with another room so never had any privacy. As this was our 20th wedding anniversary we wanted something really special and feel very disappointed.
Best of both worlds, fabulously located for the attractions of Ortigia, yet provides a welcome tranquil haven to relax. I must also say that the breakfast is arguably one of the best we have ever enjoyed - the quality and variety of food on offer was very impressive.
Lunch seemed overpriced for the area - as a result we often wandered to nearby alternatives.
Location: superb, with private beach and with restaurant on the edge of the Mediterranean. Staff: Fantastic. Could not have been more helpful. When we asked for the location of a shoe repair shop after my wife's high heels broke, the hotel arranged to have the shoes repaired, and delivered them to the room. Food: Superb breakfast. Lunch and dinner excellent, although expensive. Room: We were in the annexe. Room was spacious and comfortable. The annexe has its own private terrace adjacent to the sea.
Minor grumble: All TV channels were in Italian.
The welcome (and farewell) from Laura and Salvo was excellent. The private beach and dining terrace made for a wonderful oasis. The staff were always very solicitous and attentive. Our apartment had a very spacious and private balcony with marvellous views of the sea and across to Ortigia.
Our balcony did suffer from the lack of an umbrella to provide afternoon shade - but we should have asked Laura about this! The last stretch of the evening walk back from dining in Ortigia or 'downtown' Siracusa can seem a little daunting.
Location right at the water's edge. Stunning views across the ocean towards old city. Breakfast on the waterside terrace. The private, immaculately-tended beach.
The immediate neighbourhood is quite run down and dilapidated, which makes the cocoon of the Resort that much more attractive.
Very friendly owner, super hardworking staffs to maintain highest level of cleanliness of the beach front, lovely dog
Nothing at all
Own pte beach, setting being away from the hustle and bustle. free parking in a city that is very crowded. breakfast is a highlight and beautiful. Staff were exceptionally helpful.....but owner a bit hit and miss.
Proprietor makes a point of mentioning that no food or drink that is not purchased on the premises is to be consumed in the room. BAD policy and makes it very uncomfortable. also very overpriced. would not go to the area again....nor return to Sicily.
Excellent atmosphere. Very helpful staff.
Attention to detail and cleanliness, service and authentic nature of resort. Laura and Staff are the best.
Everything else . Great hotel and five star worthy . Very kind and pleasant staff ! Breakfast is great and not the standard thing .
Very small shower and not fit for tall people . Many mosquito's in the room so you had to close the window during the night . Easy to prevent by e.g. fixing a mosquito curtain .
The location is perfect for a visit of the suroundings. The water is very clean and the staff very nice. We really enjoyed it and will go back there.
It is a bit pricy for what it offers without any other additional service other than a beautiful beach and WIFI.
Too frequent change of towels No drawers for clothes
The location was second to none. The décor was really lovely and there were loads of comfortable seating areas. I think it is the perfect place to stay for doing the sites of Ortygia and Syracuse. You can escape the crowds and get to a beach. Great place.
The excellent staff and owner family.
We thought the hotel rooms were wonderful, big beds, and a very large room. The beach was just wonderful and clean.
The staff needed to be more cheerful, and we never new what we were paying for our beers, water that we were signing for while on the beach, they never put a price on the charge against the bill, so you had to wait until you checked out to find out what the cost was. Food menue was very limited, but quite nice.
A very nice and welcoming hosts and their staff . a Great location with its well maintained private beach . Not far from Ortigia , still very quiet and peacefull . Convenient parking , excellent breakfast . We do recommend !
This was....Paradise! An oasis of rest in the bustling life of Siracusa. Nice and friendly staff. Although only 3stars rated, it is worth a 5 star resort. The only one with a private beach, it was just great to start our trip there. For the boys they even could use a kayak which they enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing when comparing with Italy standards.
Price is worth a 5 stars. When eating at Musciara you do not know how much you are going to spend for your meal since you do not get a menu. The surprise is when you leave and you have to pay a big amount of money for good food but not worth that much. Example, 8 bruschettas for four +6 drinks (no wine): 89€. This was the only unpleasant thing.
