I do not think this hotel should be classed as a 4 star hotel. From our experience of staying in this hotel I would say it was a 2 star hotel. |

The staff and 'can do' attitude. I spend around 180 nights a year in hotels all over the world and found their approach refreshing and genuine. Nothing was too much trouble for any staff member. Thank you. Road noise could be a problem for some. Some families (like us) might struggle with the traffic when walking to the city. The pavements are typically Italian, narrow and road users and are little insensitive to pedestrians. Although even with this in mind we would still choose to stay at this hotel again. A short taxi fare is the best way to see the city at night. |

This is a very nice hotel in Lucca. It was very easy to find and is in a central location for visiting other towns also. It advertised that it has air conditioning, but when we were there May15-17th, 2009 it was not turned on, as was the case with other hotels in Italy & France. The temperature turned hot, in the 90's. We had to have windows open without screens..then ended up with bug bites! |

My wife and I have stayed several times and we chose the Hotel to give our grandchildren and their father, our son, their first holiday in Italy - they loved the Hotel especially the breakfast choice of food we all made the most of our almost hourlong breakfasts. |

Easy to find when travelling from Pisa by car, well located and with a spacious car park. Bedroom good quality. Breakfast had an excellent choice and the quality was good. The hotel is very good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is next door to a 24hr cafe. This is convenient but it is noisy during the night and so the window/shutters need to be kept closed if you have a room overlooking it. |

Air conditioning system very poor, virtually useless. Bedroom adequate but on small side. Bathroom small, shower head fixed in middle of bath and approx 1 foot above bath so unable to have a normal shower!! Decoration/ carpets in corridors "tired".Hotel location next to 4 lane road, opening windows at night to compensate for poor air conditioning meant loud traffic noise until early hours |

The staff were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay, the most helpful I have ever ex[erienced! The hotel is 5 - 10 miutes walk from old town of Lucca which was very convenient even more so if you book one of the free bikes available. What a good idea that is. The hotel is also easy to find. Bar prices were expensive. |

We liked the proximity to Lucca itself. We also had relatives in both Barga and Viareggio and also some business tyo attend. Your hotel was just right for access to all we had to do. We could find nio faults that would stop us coming back. |

Air conditioning in the rooms is very poor and definitely needs to be upgraded. For a 4 star hotel, this was very disappointing. |

Friendly English speaking staff. Excellent housekeeping service, room was very clean every day. Breakfast was good, more choices than typical continental breakfast. Short walk (15 min.) to Lucca city walls and train station. Small complaint: AC could have been a degree or two cooler for better comfort. |

Concierge was extremely helpful without expecting tips and with 24/7 service Definately not a 4* hotel by any standard. A/c useless, wifi too weak & slow to be usable (had to leave room & stay near router each time), toiletries never replaced, most of staff was charming but a few were really nasty, b'fast pre-prepared! (eg. eggs) yuck!, toaster hopless, stained carpet, broken elec.outlets, most don't work when light is off (eg. for charging batteries at night), small lift. |

Hotel staff was helpful with providing directions and suggestions for sightseeing. Rooms were modest, but comfortable and clean. Air conditioning is only active during the summer (June and later, according to the manager). We stayed here on a warm day in May and the rooms were uncomfortably warm. Also, rooms on the front of the hotel had a lot of traffic noise most of the night. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful despite some of them having limited English and we had limited Italian. The breakfast had good variety with great coffee and fresh fruit salad every day. The bed was comfortable. The room was very warm and we could not use the airconditioning as it was not switched on centrally. We were told this was because it was not yet summer and they would not switch it on unless enough guests asked for it. This meant we had to keep the window open and this looked out onto a noisy road. The bathroom was lovely except for an enormous crack through the marble basin/vanity. |
