Recommended by the New York Times, Matisse is a charming B&B, tucked away in a historic Palazzo on Via Nazionale. Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Venezia and the old Forum are all within a 15 minute walk.
Score from 277 reviews Good

|Located 600 metres from Piazza San Pietro, Sunset at St Peter offers free WiFi and classically furnished accommodation with tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms at the St Peter Sunset come with a TV.|
The location is perfect, just a block away from the subway, 10 minutes walk from the coliseum and there is a couple of supermarkets in the same building, several restaurants in a 200 meter distance, very quiet at night. We had a triple room for 2 adults and 2 years old baby, had plenty of room for all of our bags, stroller, food etc... The price was very cheap comparing to other hotels in the same distance from the center. They offered a car service from the airport which was also very good
The place is in a residential building on a second floor, there is only a small sign on the door, no sign outside, therefore if you get there by yourself without using the car service they offer (highly recommended) you'll have hard time finding the place.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower even though smallish was nice and hot and great pressure. The hosts were some of the kindest most generous people that we had met. They were down to earth and showed us true Italian generosity. They made our time in Rome a very pleasant experience.
The only thing I would suggest is to have more places to hang things in the room like hooks and more towel rails.
I really like the staff! They were exceptional!! Marna bends backwards for her guest and with a smile. There is several metro lines nearby which made getting around the city pretty seamless. You have to look at what you are getting. I got a place to stay that was in my budget. The staff was exceptional! I got what I paid for!
The mold in the bathroom. That is a serious health concern to me. I was in two rooms. The first room was okay. The second room was horrible! It was so tight ! I bumped into the bed post too many times and my legs were loaded with bruises.
Relatively quiet and an easy walk to Colosseum and Termini station. Plenty of shops and and a metro station within 100 meters of the door. Supermarket next door. Good restaurant on the corner. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay again.
Kitchen and living a little cramped. No washing machine but there are laundromats nearby.
Nicely furnished and bedrooms spacious. Close to Metro, supermarkets, banks and park. Welcome pack of food helpful.
Outside area was dirty, needed sweeping and I had to clean and sterilize table on arrival. Rubbish in corner and plants almost dead. A pity as this could be a really pleasant outside area. Inadequate bedding for two couples and two single men. It was advertized as being able to pay with credit/debit card but this was not the case.
It's a large apartment, comfortable, near metro and super market. And they're so nice, when they give us bread, coffee, jam, milk, coca, ice tea and some cake :), it's so supprise.
The bed quality is not that good and the kitchen facilities is not enough for my familly (5 people)
Not too bad location wise, no more than a 10 minute walk to Colosseum, restaurants, shopping, sights.
There is a flight of stairs you'll have to drag your luggage up to a small elevator. The bathroom was TINY, shower curtain was moldy/musty smelling. A little tricky to find!
direct in the city, walking from main central station...
near by areas are historically developed which some people may not like, overall it wont make any disturbance
The staff was very nice, they really did their best for our trip to be as pleasant as possible. They are very flexible about check-in and check-out. Also the location of the hotel is perfect - 10 min walk from Roma Termini station and 10 min walk to Colosseum. There is also a refrigerator in the room which is perfect during the summer.
The view from our room was poor (towards the opposite window) in there was no daylight in the room.
Apartment was big enough for 7 and has good facilities: 2 nice TV's, Sky, free wi-fi, plenty of storage space. Comfortable, near Termini and round the corner from a metro station
No oven, so if you're staying here don't buy pizzas from the supermarket or you'll end up cooking them in a frying pan like we did
Excellent location close to Termini railway station and with in easy walking distance of the Coleseum. Friendly and helpful staff.
Good location and nice staff. Had good airport taxi and good price
- breakfast was offsite and only a coffee and crossaint - room felt dirty, walls had marks on them and bathroom had lots of mould and not clean - towels didn't get changed everyday - curtain was see through so could see in someone's room/apartment opposite
Well appointed apartment with lots of space
Overall was clean and not far from the city center.
Though close to Termini station it is not very close. If someone is there for a weekend then probably worth a stay but if you are there for a day you may prefer to have a location closer to Termini
our trip was so short :)
Air con, coffee maker, small fridge, clean
2 double beds - would have been better for us if a couple of singles and a double.
Daniel was a very warm host, welcoming us at the door! Mara was helpful, friendly and kind! Very central to tourist sights!
Daniel was very helpful, he sat down with us and showed us on the map where to go and where to eat.
Everything was great. Thanks Mara :)
Helpful friendly staff, good location, had everything we needed.
Staff was friendly and helpful A fun place to stay
The owner of the hotel told us almost everything in Rome which was very useful. The room was big and clean. 2mins walk to the metro station. Provide pick up service with fair price
Very comfortable single room with bathroom. Had small fridge and aircon which was a plus.
Bathroom was very small and made things very difficult as there was shelf space and only one very small towel rail.
We had no problem at all. Good location, staff ok, good internet, enough hot water. Great relation cost-benefit.
It could be a bit cleaner. The building is old so we had a bit of respiration problems to sleep.
When we arrived Sean was ready to greet us in accordance to the time we prescheduled with him. Not only was our room incredibly inviting when we arrived, but he was quick to inform us on how to manuver through the city, local spots to visit, and the best prices in the area for food. In addition to the great price, breakfast coupons were given each morning for a free breakfast at a local cafe. Overall, a wonderful experience.
