Very nice staff and a great room for a great price. Right on the water in Portofino. The restaurant for breakfast was great and everything was very relaxing and easy.

Location was excellent, staff very helpfull.

The location was perfect for staying in Portofino.... Rooms spacious and well kept.... 24 hour porterage.... Very friendly and helpful Manger/staff...

There was NOTHING we didnot like...

The location was excellent. It is one of the first hotels to face the harbor of Portofino. The room I had, although it did not face the harbor was very nice inside with lots of space including a table and long hall way. The bathroom was larger too. Very comfortable and quiet. A quick walk to the harbor and all of the area's attractions. I think the price was very fair for staying at the harbor in Portofino.

I did not like not having a harbor facing room but the room I had facing the other hotel was still very comfortable.

The location is excellent, staff is very friendly and helpful and the room was big with a nice terrace.

The breakfast was very limited and all was packed produce and not fresh ingredients. No fruit. Plus the hotel was a bit noisy in the early morning.

We had a perfect view of the harbor and the activities. The view was picturesque. Eating on the patio in the morning was very special.

The breadfast was coffee and patries and yogurt. Would have been nice to have some friut or eggs. Something a little more nutritious.

My boyfriend and I loved staying at Hotel Nazionale. The hotel is located right in the middle on the waterfront, and our room was well- appointed, comfortable and romantic, and charmingly decorated. The wireless internet worked great, and we enjoyed taking our breakfast in- room [included in price, no additional cost]. We booked a Standard Double Room, which doesn't come with a waterfront view, but that was fine as we really enjoyed the balcony area, which overlooks a cute side street great for people watching. I must admit I was initially hesitant to book after seeing the Booking.com pictures, but trust me, the hotel and room is much more attractive than the pictures make it out to be. I would highly recommend Hotel Nazionale to anyone visiting lovely Portofino.

The most outstanding point of the hotel was how helpful and friendly all of the staff were.

Great location in a great city. Rooms are big, especially to European standards. Bathroom was also large, with a pretty good shower. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Lucca.

Breakfast buffet was just so-so.

The room was lovely, we had a great patio, it was right at the piazza. It was a perfect final night after a month of travel. The hotel had an electric cart to pick up our luggage and take it to the hotel and then take it back up the hill to our car on departure!

A small criticism The bath towels are waffle cotton not toweling and dont dry you very effectively.They are beautifully pressed and laundered and are changed twice a day which is unnecessary these days

Hotel needs more attention to details, The shower cubicle is tiny with a shower head which makes it impossible to apply soap with the water on. Needs to provide connecting rooms.

The location was the best there is in Portofino, we had a private terrace connected to the main square in the harbor. When we asked for a sea side room they straight away made that happen. Free room service for the breakfast was for free, staff really friendly and helpful, spacious rooms, 24 hrs service at reception, good housekeeping staff and level. We only can recommend this hotel and we will come back to it

The furniture is a little old and they should really update it a bit because for the money you pay for a night, besides location, you want a bit modern italian furniture.

Because I needed a room with easy handicap access, I changed my room for one on the ground floor, opening onto a private terrace and directly onto the port of Portofino. Though this added to the cost, it was an excellent decision and one I woud recommend without hesitation.

The location was the best! Right near the water and lots of restaurants. The restaurant that is connected with the hotel was the ONLY one that would take us at 10:30 at night when we arrived late. I thought Italians ate late? And my food was wonderful.

Frankly, for the money, it wasn't worth it to stay in Portofino, especially since we got there so late. If you have tons of money, stay there, but if you don't, stay in in S. Margherita Ligure and take the bus in. The hotel didn't charge any more than other surrounding hotels; it's just the cost of staying in Portofino.

Very dated and quite basic finishings

From the moment we checked in we loved the service....very quiet hotel....the staff was incredible, so helpful and nice. Ask for a sea view room, the view from the room was breathtaking. Forget their continental breakfast....just enjoy the view and the great restaurants and shopping within minutes of the hotel. We would stay there again in a heartbeat because of the staff and view. Hotel is old and tired but who cares...if you want a great room, stay someplace else, but if you want a great view and clean room with an awesome view, this is it.

The location is very convenient and serving breakfast in the room is very nice service as well.

The rooms are not soundproofed properly and everything that the others do in their room (and I mean everything!) not only you can hear it very clearly but it sounds like it is in your own room, day and night. It is quite irritating! Also the breakfast could have been a bit richer for the price paid.

к отелю подъехать невозможно, багаж сотрудники отеля не привезли с паркинга, а также не доставили на паркинг при выезде, сославшись на занятость до 10.00 отель очень старый, состояние плохое завтраки плохие, если для кого важно нет общей зоны у ресепшен ну и самое главное он три звезды, а не 4 как заявлено в мини баре в бутылке виски была вода, неприятный момент
