Hotel Antiche Mura  

The Hotel was located about 50 m from the main Piazza in Sorrento so the location was terrific.The Building is older style and is in keeping with the other Architectire in the area.It has a really beutiful garden terrace hitch surrounds the pool?A very tranquil place to read a book or have a drink.Our room was double storey with 2 Bedrooms and a Study.the bathroom wad quite roomy with a deep good sized bath.The room was located to the rear for hotel and therefore very quiet .We would not have any hesitation to recommend this Hotel.

The location was perfect for touring the city, the staff were very helpful with a slight medical emergency, breakfast was excellent. the room with balcony was spacious.

The staff was outstanding, always very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection of sweet and savory selections. The coffee and cappucino were both very good. Location was very good, just off of main square in Sorrento.

Het hotel was zeer goed gelegen. Pal in het centrum, op 10 minuten wandelen van de haven en het treinstation. Het personeel was vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam, zonder opdringerig te zijn. Het ontbijt was zeer gevarieerd en superlekker.

Beautiful hotel (but a bit dated), great location, friendly and helpful staff. Our room had outdoor space which was lovely.

The amenities in the rooms could have been better/higher quality. The beds were a bit hard as were the pillows. Slippers would have been a nice touch after a day of site seeing.

Very helpful staff, great choice at breakfast, plenty of space in a triple room with terraced area. Wifi was free and connection was good. Very close to the main square in Sorrento.

The room was great. The breakfast is excellent. The location is ideal. The staff was very helpful with travel and dining plans.

The only problem was the noise. The door did not keep out the noise of the hallway and stairs, and it sounded like people were running up and down the stairs and moving furniture in the hall way late at night and again early in the morning. It woke us up many times.

An exceptional, well managed property. You could not ask for a better location. Best place to stay on the Amalfi Coast is Sorrento, and the best place to stay in Sorrento if you are on somewhat of a budget is Antiche Mura. Very clean property located right of the center plaza of the town. Walking distance from all the shopping and the marina. Close to the Circumvesuvina train station as well. The breakfast is phenomenal, beyond compare! Lovely orange groves by the pool. SImply WOW!

Nothing, they are at the top of their game. You would be silly to choose any other property on the Amalfi Coast in this price range.

Hotel was wonderful. Staff was warm, friendly, helpful and such a delight. Breakfast was fantastic.

Didn't like the showers....water didn't drain properly

The Breakfast buffet was sensational. Very nice assortment of finely prepared items. Excellent to have fresh orange juice and champagne on occasion. The Cappucino was a treat as well; lovely with the fine Italian bakery treats! We love the atmosphere, decor was luxurious, Italian Marble stair case, very fancy elevator, beautiful and relaxing. Thank You!

We liked the location in the heart of the city. Close to many attractions, shops and restaurants. Extremely helpful and courteous staff. Comfortable clean rooms with an unasked-for upgrade.

The swimming pool was not operating due to the Winter season

We had a wonderful visit to the city of Sorrento and surrounding areas. The location was idea for walking to restaurants, shopping district and train station. We had wonderful breakfasts every day. It was a treat.

Great service and good location

I loved the service we had from the moment we arrived. It was our honeymoon and for that reason they upgraded us free of charge to one of the better rooms with a balcony. It looks over a busy road in the day but we weren't really in the room much in the day anyway. At night the road is closed to traffic but with the doors shut there was no audible sound from outside. The room was immaculate and we were given a free bottle of fizz and a plate of fruit with a sign that read "best wishes for the honeymoon" from all the staff. That was really nice. Maria Laura and Linda on reception are two beautiful and friendly girls who made our stay even more comfortable with their warm welcome and friendliness. The staff around the hotel are all friendly and happy enough to help you with anything. The breakfast was probably the best I have had. I couldn't believe the choice. You could have literally anything from bacon, eggs to cakes, fruit, cheeses, Prosecco, pastries, cereals. It was lovely. The cocktails were very nice and brought over to you by the waiter. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location in Sorrento (if you like Sorrento) and its charm, friendliness and swimming pool!!!

The only thing I would say, and it isn't really a minus point for the hotel Antiche Mura, is that they recommended a restaurant down by the harbour, "Ristorante Bianca" which was full of so much promise. They came and picked us up and dropped us home but that I am afraid is all I can say which is good about the place. The food was awful and the waiter was just bored, going through the motions of asking where you were from and then just looking out across the room pretending to listen. The bill for 2 starters and 2 mains came to over 90 euros which for sub-quality food is terrible. I think this was just a "local business group" recommendation as opposed to somewhere you would actually recommend from personal experience. Also (and again, not a problem with the Hotel)... Sorrento just isn't what we were expecting. It is one giant tourist trap with no real places to eat. Ristorante after Ristorante serving up the same rubbish up and down all the nice cobbled streets. I was expecting local fresh fish and beautiful "italian momma" cooking but sadly there was none of this. The entire place is overpriced for a quality that is not much better than McDonalds.
