New Hotel Palace  

This was clearly a good hotel,though it gave the impression of being partially closed for the August break. It has plenty of parking ,excellent rooms and a fabulous pool area. The pictures suggested a thriving restaurant. However in four days there we only saw 3 occupied tables at the restaurant,which was never open in the evenings. The many lights around the beautiful pool remained turned off throughout. The hotel is next door to the enormous Florio Marsala winery. A must see visit and tasting. Towards the town on the right of the hotel is a sublime little bar and food outlet, just before IL Bucanieri. The various typically Sicilian Panini,cakes and savoury dishes are all superb and great value for money.

Marsala is an untidy city (nearby Mazara is much better looked after). The Hotel is a good 30 mins walk from the main town through quite a seedy dockside area. At least half the rooms overlook a railway line and busy road. Florio ought to make more of it's links with the famous Targa Florio car race. The Hotel probably charges a bit more than it is really worth.

Nice personnel, free parking

The hotel is a little bit out of town, you have to walk like 20 minutes to the city, there's no beach in walking distance, but there's one nice sandy beach about 4 kms from the hotel.

The welcome I got from the guy on reception. I arrived after midnight and he just took my bag and led me to my room and said we can do ther paper work in the morning.

It's location - too far from anything. I enquired at reception about an excursion advertised on the front desk and got a flat negative response with no offer of any further information on other excursions available. Room (118) overlooked a railway line and a busy road. I asked reception if I could move rooms as it was too noisy and air con did not work - answer no. They asked me if window closed properly as this affects working of air con. No offer to come and have a look with me. I went up, saw window was not shut properly, shut it, air con worked and window had double glazing - so no noise. Help would have been good. Breakfast was terrible-looked more like a dessert bar. I only cried three times. No coffee lounge, no entertainment/activities. Boring.

The staff were very helpful and the pool was beautiful.

The hotel was just lovely with an enchanting garden. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke English to us travel weary tourists. When I booked I did not realize it was a 5 star hotel since we were just touring Italy and Sicily and only wanted pleasant accommodations. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this perfect hotel.

Dette hotel levede på ingen måder op til 5* - spa området var et rum de havde, hvor en person som forøvrigt arbejdede på de fleste hoteller I nærområdet, skulle tilkaldes hvis man ønskede en behandling. Ingen motionsrum/ træningsfaciliter. Restauranterne på hotellet var lukket, hvis man ønskede noget I poolområder skulle man henvende sig I receptionen. 3 ud af 7 ovetnætninger fik vi ikke rengjort værelser, grundet nok den sene rengøring, så da vi kom på værelserne ved 16 tiden da vores datter skulle sove til middag var der ikke rengjort og det blev ikke gjort efterfølgende, der blev ikke fyldt op med sæber, måtte selv jagte toiletpapir. Det var ikke det vi forventede af et 5* hotel og kan ikke sammenlignes med andre 5*.

L,hotel esteticamente e' un buon 5 stelle purtroppo non ha una gestione all'altezza il personale e' poco presente e la colazione lascia un po' a desiderare non abbiamo potuto usufruire del ristorante xche' era sempre impegnato x dei banchetti e il ristorante convenzionato ( che si trova appena fuorl l'hotel ) e' da sconsigliare assolutamente bassa qualita' del cibo e prezzi cari.

Ottimo staff, Valentina in particolare è stata molto gentile. Colazione favolosa.

Accoglienza e personale impeccabili. Colazione ricchissima e di qualità. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo (almeno in offerta).

La relativamente piccola distanza che lo separa dal centro città fa comunque optare per usare la macchina per raggiungere il centro. Il contesto attorno all'albergo è un po' degradato, seppure sia in buona posizione.
