Hotel Gennarino is set in an elegant Liberty villa of the early 20th century. The hotel is located right in front of the beach establishments, by the Naval Academy.

Set across from Livorno's Naval Academy, Hotel Navy has a seafront location on Viale Italia. Rooms are cozy with carpeted floors, free Wi-Fi and 37-inch LCD TVs.
Score from 283 reviews Very good
This small, 19th-century building is set in the heart of Livorno, near Goldoni's theater. The position offers excellent access to public transportation from both the nearby harbor and train station.
Score from 197 reviews Excellent
We were there for only one night and found everything to our satisfaction.
Beautiful building inside and out. Friendly and efficient staff. Amazing value for money.Should be rated at least 4 star. Great location.
Having to leave!
Breakfast spread was good, together with the view of the sea in the morning. Bed was comfortable.
Staff at reception was not helpful.
THE WHOLE THREE DAYS WERE JUST WHAT WE NEEDED THE VIEW ,BEDS ,POOL AREA AND STAFF WERE ALL EXCELLENT,GREAT SELECTION FOR BREAKFAST
WE FOUND THE RESTAURANT FOOD WAS GOOD QUALITY BUT LACKED QUANTITY
The room was big, nice and comfortable! The veiw at the roof was beautiful!
The staff was not helpfull or friendly, especially not the restaurant staff. Our redwine was served cold! We upgrade us to a room with the seaveiw but the window was extremly small if you compare it to the other rooms. The staff in the reception told us the wrong time for the breakfast so we missed it. This hotel does'nt give you a five star feeling!!!
24/7 check in/out. Building with grandeur. Breakfast is excellent. Close to ferry. Nice for a one night stay before/after taking the ferry to/from Corsica or Sardegna.
No bedside table, lights not working properly, paint coming of wall and ceiling, pool with size of bathtub, one of the waiters at restaurant not liking his job. Clearly not a 5 star hotel. Livorno is a boring city.
Nice Design Nice Decor Generally good service Good parking faciliteis
Breakfast choice was average
Room nice - beds confortable Aircon sufficient and quiet Beatiful view from 5th floor with restaurant and swimmingpool
The quality and price range of the restaurant does not correspond with the fantastic view - disapointing Desk and chair in room not comfortable for working with a computer
the view and the premises
the pool was not as expected, too small to low
This hotel was beautiful, and even better was the view out our window. We chose an ocean front room. Some of these rooms had a balcony, which we were lucky enough to get. There is no seating on the balcony, but nontheless, it was wonderful to set outside. The hotel location was easy to get to, and had great parking for our rental car. It is located across the street from the water. The area around our hotel was populated with pedestrians, so it felt safe to walk in the evening (we were walking until 10:30pm). Our stay had breakfast included, and had a large assortment. There was also seating on the terrace for breakfast. Would stay here again!
Location was not in the hub of shopping or restaurants, but if you were willing to do some walking to explore, they were easy enough to get to.
Great location and Sea View, good access to plenty of local eateries, ice cream parlours etc.
View Facilities Terrace
Rooms are large and hotel is nicely located on the beach. Livorno is not really the place to be. People at the reception were very friendly and helpful. We came 1 day later and because we stayed a full week, they were so kind to compensate this night.
For the rest of the staff service was very poor. You didn't feel welcome at all at breakfast or in the bar/restaurant. They have a pool, beach it's a 1 m deep and very tiny. There is no cosiness in this hotel. It's not what you expect of a 5* hotel
The sea view executive double room was lovely, as were the sea views. The hotel itself was very grand. The front veranda and pool were nice. The staff in the top floor restaurant were very attentive.
FAR too little space for sunbathing - only a small deck at the back and a couple of loungers around the pool at the front. To be 5* I would have expected more than 1 complimentary (small) bottle of water in a double room, more than 2 coffees for the machine and staff being attentive to sunbathers rather than guests having to go inside and order when they wanted something. The front desk staff were also quite aloof.
Definitely not enough staff which resulted in nervous atmosphere during breakfasts - only selected ones could get their coffee served to the table. Not a high standard as for a five-star hotel.
Bathrooms , hooks were loose, couldn't hang towels.Door in the bathroom was falling apart because of getting wet all the time from guests taking a shower ( no shower courtain) in bathtub, this should be fixed in a five star hotel
Few chairs at the swimming pool, minibar very expensive, small rooms, small parking, dissapointing breakfast
Room was nice but too hot
We been to Livorno several times and know it not much to see there but the hotel looked very nice and we were looking forward to a romantic dinner as their Pictures of the restaurant looked very inviting. But we felt like sitting in a pizzeria on the beach, no Candles or tableclothes on the table as we saw on their website. We had a suiteroom and paid over 300 Euro and when we returned to the room it was hot hot, 26 degress called and they told us that they would lower the temp for us. At 11 when we wanted to sleep no change and they did send a mechanic who only could confirm that we did set the A/c correct. Still 26 next morning when we woke up after sleeping maybe 2 hours in total. Could not open the windows as there was a storm outside.
The room needs better soundproofing. You can hear noises from the surrounding rooms. : - /
Staff, location, breakfast
Location, directly on the sea. The hotel building is nice.
The level of cleanliness throughout the hotel and the room requires a lot of attention. We had to wait 15 mins after we checked in, because the room wasn't cleaned well. We booked an Executive sea front room, but seemed really small to what was described..
Grand building with parking, rooftop pool and bar/restaurant. Good quality bed and marble bathroom
Staff have a great attitude but about half are poorly trained. Looks 5 star but a bit light on facilities. Despite being full there was a ghost ship atmosphere with a breakfast room only used for 3 morning hours and separate restaurant/bar that was deserted. Perhaps should have extra ground floor bar so people drink in the hotel more.
Comfortable bed, nice pool, impressive building! Free parking, nice selection at breakfast.
No hair dryer in room, no spare pillows in room, only limited toiletries supplied, few sun beds on cramped terrace by pool, small dining room in the evening 50 seats for 500 guests! Only one coffee machine for breakfast so a long queue... I don't expect to stand in line for my morning coffee in a 5 star hotel. 2.5 kilometres walk to old town centre. Very few restaurants in area for dinner.
Spacious room and bathroom, beautiful breakfast, excellent service
Not enough chairs for sitting at the pool- didn't have a place to sit on several occasions
