Nilhotel  

1) Our dinner waiter was superb. 2) The quality of the dinner meal was excellent. 3) The Air Conditioning in the room worked well. 4) The breakfast buffet lived up to advertised expectations.

1) We could not have lunch at the hotel because a motorcycle group had the dining area for a buffet. 2) Then, the desk clerk sent us on a wild goose chase - assuring us there were restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There are not. We did find a grocery store. 3) The location was advertised as just off the highway. It was not. 4) The location was advertised as 4 kilometers from downtown Florence. It was twice that and took about 30 minutes to get there and back.

Very nice room: spacious, clean, fresh, and a wonderful breakfast. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Although not very far from the bus stop into Florence, directions to the pick up and drop off stops are not very clear.

The facility and it amenities were superb. Very clean and modern.

I booked our the hotel room on line for 131 euro and was unable to put in the exact the of persons. We were traveling 3 women+1 seven year old little girl. when we arrived at 10pm the hotel manager was resistant to allowing my family all stay in a 2 double bed room. Even though we were willing to pay for an additional bed. He told us only 3 persons per room max were allowed in one room and therefore going to separate my family and pay an additional 131 euro. Mind you it was near 11pm at night and we were checking out in the morning. However, after nearly 40 minutes of pleading, the manager did call his supervisor for permission to allow to accomodate us in a 3 bedroom suite. The manager should have taken an Executive decision and done this from the begining rather than make 3 women and a child suffer and waking up his supervisor. Nevertheless, I appreciate that he did call and it did work out at the end.

No nonsense, new hotel, with huge free parking lot, completely gated, safe, great service, free internet, very clean and comfortable rooms, quite, away from major streets and traffic. Florence is a unique city, staying there can be very expensive and inconvenient, unless you are prepared to pay top money for room. Its not uncommon for hotels to ask +600 Euro per night for a room and more. Nilhotel was amazing - affordable yet nice, only 3 miles away from the center by car or taxi.

Pillows were not that good :(

The bar tender (name?) was fantastic and had the best personality of any host at any hotel we have ever stayed. Overall all the staff was great and the hotel was very nice. Great beds. Never slept better. Good strong lemon drinks!!!! Loved it.

A bit far away from city, but not a problem if driving

Superb localization allowing bus visits in the old town. Very friendly personnel.

Tough pillows, even though we have not asked for a change.

Clean and modern.

Walls between room too thin - can hear other people talking. Wifi was not free. Other cheaper hotels that we stayed in offered free wifi.

The Hotel is preatty new and clean, standard for hotel.

The sound isolation between the rooms is very bad (you can hear all sounds and recognize voice from the neighbopring countries)
