Opened in 1308, the Albergo Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. It is set right behind St. Mark's Square, and features elegant rooms and a private pier.
Score from 1282 reviews Good
In a 16th-century building only 320 yards from Saint Mark's Square, Hotel Torino is just off of Calle Larga XXII Marzo, the main shopping street in Venice.
Score from 390 reviews Very good
In the small square of Campiello del Vin, Hotel Campiello is 200 yards from St. Mark’s Square, and 325 ft from the San Zaccaria Vaporetto water bus stop.
Score from 460 reviews Very good
Ca' Angeli has great views over the Grand Canal from its lounge and breakfast room. Rialto Bridge is close by and Santa Lucia Station is a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 291 reviews Wonderful
had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. A/c did not works and they would not provides a fan. old and unkept room. had to remove card from insert which disconnected the fridge. givin a 3 out of ten would be generous. never again here
The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location could not be better.
everything was perfect
Close to everything
Lack of power points
Location is great, just 5 mins away from San Marco station, and therefore almost all the key sights
Slightly inflexible w breakfast time. I had to leave at 8 and at 755 asked if I could grab a coffee and crossiant but the staff was pretty strict about the timing
Shower cubicle very small. Shower screen only opens to approximately 35 cm so bigger people won't fit through.
Breakfast Decoration Location (very near piazza San Marco)
The receptionist who greeted us on our first night was knowledgeable and pointed out some good restaurants.
We were disappointed to arrive in the evening but were not able to get into the hotel and then had to drag our suitcases through their restaurant on the ground floor to get to the reception upstairs! We had booked 2 rooms - one tiny and the other was normal. Breakfast was included but the "dining room" was 4m by 4m and sat 6 tables of couples at a squeeze!! Limited breakfast.
wifi, good breakfast, friendly staff, excellent location
Fantastic location. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful Venetian interior giving the place a luxurious feel. Breakfast was good- although could have been more variety. There were plenty of restaurants/shops on the same road as the hotel and the main sqaure: San Marco is literally a 2 min walk.
Bathroom was quite small although still manageable. On the first night the A/c was leaking however after reporting it, they fixed it the next day. The views from the room are not great; right next to another building.
Location, friendliness of staff, clean. Air con.
Location, hotel décor
rooms bit small
Great location, helpful staff, good breakfast!
Hotel Noemi was clean and elegant (for an inexpensive price). The staff was very friendly, especially Vincenzo (sp?).
The location could be considered fantastic because it was right next to the Piazza San Marco. But, if you drive to Venice and park your car, you have to take a water taxi, which is expensive, or walk for about 45 minutes to get there.
Location was favorable.
The hotel is old and not well maintained. It is little more than a motel. Actually nothing more than a motel. A cheap one at that. Rooms are small. Bathrooms smaller. Bedsheets and appointments are old. This is only good for cheap budget travel.
A 'quirky' hotel with room doors perhaps where you would not expect them to be. The staff were always very helpful. The breakfast contrary to some previous reviews was excellent.
For the amount of time spent in our room which was on the reception floor was that there was no outside light.
The location and general quality of the hotel was excellent. The staff were fair, polite, and professional; however, they weren't service oriented, which is typical for Italia.
Terrible internet access, which is also typical for Italie, but something that needs desperately to change. Please join the twenty-first century, Italia.
Very nice staff and beautiful decor. Excellent location and better price than most in the area.
near to piazza di San Marco, good location, clean room, nice personal
The staff was very helpful, as well as the owner. The breakfast was really good. Location excellent
The blackouts didn't cover the whole windows only to the side.
The room was clean, attractive, and comfortable. The location is wonderful, right near San Marco Piazza. Staff was helpful and courteous. Overall, worth the money.
Bathroom is unbelievably tight, shower totally inadequate. The lobby is a flight up, with no elevator, meaning luggage needed to be carried for check-in and check-out.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely man named Vincent. He helped us out greatly, gave us a map and showed us where all the great places to go were. He marked them on the map and told us briefly about each one. The room was beautiful and clean.Continental breakfast, lovely, variety of things to chose from.
I can't complain about anything.
The location is excellent. The breakfast was adequate. We booked an economy double room and when we arrived they upgraded us to a larger room. The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful.
- perfect location to get around to St Marks Sq and Rialto - staff were always helpful and friendly -
- was great and exactly what we needed. - they didnt have an iron
We loved the central location just a few minutes walk from San Marco. Our room ,although small, was comfortable, beautifully decorated in the Venetian style and very clean. For such a central location in Venice, it was excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful in recommending what to see, how to get there and where to eat in the immediate area of the hotel.
Beware of the very small shower for stick insects in the room beside reception. If you do manage to get into the shower, take care that you don't bump into the temperature controls...you are either scalded or frozen! I think that 'health and safety' would have issues here. We were offered another room which had a larger shower but a small double bed but we opted to stay where we were.....a comfortable night was more important and the difficulties in not being able to use the shower were overcome with vigorous use of the wash hand basin. This resulted in a very wet bathroom and led us to the conclusion that a properly designed 'wet room' was the answer to the shower problem.
