Hotel Novecento  

A fabulous hotel with perfect service, a great room, delicious breakfast and extremely helpful concierge. The location was ideal. Perfect place and well worth it. Our favoite hotel in this region.

This hotel was very challenging to find. Although we had directions generated by google maps, we became hopelessly lost. 4/5 of the old guys I asked had not heard of the hotel or gave me incorrect directions. However, once you track the place down, it is a very modern renovation of an ancient building (they think 900ad –hence the name Nove (nine) cento (hundred)). The room was adequate and comfortable. However, although of strikingly chic, modern design, the bathroom needs some rehabilitation. The shower floods the floor because the sides of the tub are wide and horizontal, so water does not drain into the tub but spreads in all directions, and a lot of it ends up on the floor. However, this is more a problem for the hotel staff, than the visitor. There is no wifi, but they do provide cables – although the ipad and other computer we had lacked compatible ports. A computer is available, however, in the entry area. The breakfast was beyond belief – 6 types of Sicilian cheeses, various perfectly ripened fruits – e.g. pears, peaches, persimmons. Exotica – almond milk, asses milk – don’t miss that of the almond. Yoghurt, dry cereal, etc. The location of the old city is striking and charming and left us with very fond memories.

Very nice hotel, right in the center of the old Scicli, located in a historical, carefully renovated building. Exceptionally professional staff - friendly (but not too much) and very helpful. Nice rooms, some with frescos... Nice common spaces, great attention to details, and an absolutely fantastic breakfast where all the best of the Sicilian delicacies are served: carefully chosen traditional cheeses and hams, fresh local fruits (including Indian figs), and sweets and pies to die for.... Not to mention the juices, brioches and so on and so forth... Really worth a visit!!

Excellent hotel. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Wonderful base for exploring the area (Scicli, Ragusa, Modica).

The breakfast was awesome!

The design and ambience of the hotel made one feel very relaxed. The owner and her staff were very helpful and considerate. Breakfast was an utter delight: fresh linen tablecloths, beautiful array of fruits and pastries topped up with fresh cherries from Etna brought personally to your table.

Novecento has exceptionally helpful, well informed and interested staff that transform this delightful hotel into a unique experience.

Power showers would be welcomed although we appreciate the need for water conservation ..........

Charming hotel in the delightful town of Scicli. I would highly recommend this town as it is less tourist oriented than Ragusa, Noto, Siracusa. I recommend the hazelnut granita for breakfast! Gay friendly.

L'extreme gentilesse du personnel, son professionnalisme, la qualité des prestations, les chambres, la situation géographique dans la charmante ville de Scicli. Vraiment à recommander pour une halte de charme en Sicile.
