Fun staff, feels like family Great Amenities - Sitting room Great location - close walk to everything and very close to the train station
Night was a bit loud, even on week days. Might be a concert venue or club near by
Average decor, a bit run down, looks better in pictures
Staff was very helpful Easy access to all areas Close to the train stAtion
Good location for station and all sights - everything in walking distance. Staff very sweet + helpful. Biggest room we've had in Italy. Lovely restaurant on the next corner.
The management was helpful and complementary tea and coffee was a good idea.
We didn't feel safe when comming and going from the hotel at night. Presentation needs a bit of help
We absolutely loved this room, it's decor, ceiling, furniture, spaciousness, the authenticity, and also to mention the lovely lady who took care of us! It's a throw-stone to the city centre, easy accessible by car, although the parking is separate price. Just Loved it!
It was a bit noisy; the windows even closed with the shutters didn't block the noise from the street. The advertised parking was advertised as if it was included in the price, but it wasn'T. 2 nights parking comes to additional eur45
Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. We felt hospitality and nice atmosphere. Room was clean and cosy despite the fact that building is rather old (but when you want to live near the city center it's the only option). Prices are fare and service is really excellent. There is also a very good trattoria right the corner. Just 5 minutes walk to Duomo (Cathedral) and other beautiful places of Florence. We enjoied our stay.
Wifi connection was quite poor as well as a cellphone signal. And if you want to leave the window opened during the night you will hear noises especially on weekend, but it's ok - there is a city center nearby and people are quite noisy there.
The location is only one minute away from Santa Maria Novella. You have free coffee machine in the room. Owner Francesco and his mother are warm and helpfull.
Old dusty carpet on the floor. Thin walls and you can hear every move of your neighbours. Bad wifi.
Very comfortable room in a great location with very nice host, also amazing value, would definitely recommend it
The good place, excellent service
Great location to train station and easy to walk to Florence sites. They did not provide breakfast, but had a wonderful array of goodies in a basket that they replenish daily along with a hot pot and coffee cups and variety of teas and coffees to prepare. The rooms have the most beautiful ceilings. Very helpful and friendly staff.
We loved the painted ceilings in the rooms - and the rooms were a good size. The hotel has aircon, but we barely needed it as the thick walls of the hotel keeps the interior cool all day. The bed is very comfortable and the room, despite being on ground floor next to the street was very quiet due to the thick walls and substantial shutters. This is a beautiful place to stay, especially at the price.
can't think of anything I would change.
The apartment is really nice, clean & tidy. Francesco speak english very well, so we had no trouble communicating.
Stuff was very pleasant.
Photos are realy great in the site, but in real this apartment is compl. diferent. Realy big but old. Location in the center but at night in front of the entrance there was full of homeless people an they where shouting. At night in the street is a bit uncomfortable. There is no dishwasher.
Perfect location between train station and the historic part. Short walking distance or just next to city top sights. Nice and good size room, free bites included in the room price. Really nice and helpful staff.
It was our first visit Italy. I travelled many times to other countries. Novella is very good place to stay. Thanks a lot to Francesco for his hospitality. Comfort, clean, very welcome, good room with windows to the internal garden.Next time in Florence we will stay there, Thanks.
Nothing. it was perfect for us.
Thought this was in a great location right near Santa Maria Square. Lots of supermarkets and arty type of shops nearby. Comfortable size room with a little fridge which was handy. Staff was helpful
Noisy as it was on the ground floor and not much sleep to be had. Shower is very small and so is toilet. No breakfast in the rate.
Charming young proprietor eager to help and with good recommendations. We had a small room which was completely comfortable and had a fresco ceiling restored about 15 years ago - delightful. Excellent location. On a quiet street.
No drawbacks. We liked it.
Francesco was extremely helpful even going to the extent of trying to book a restaurant for us during our stay and did give us a very good recommendation - that we did go to -Centopoveri. Position is excellent for the train & buses for day trips all within a short walk and for sightseeing - Santa Maria Novella a beautiful church just a few minutes away just to name one of the many treasures to see.
Sorry to say the carpet was quite dusty.
very good location. Quite a big room and comfortable. Very helpful staff.
I enjoyed my stay very much and I would certainly return to this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and the place ideal (and good value for money). Thanks for a great stay!
Easy walk from train station Friendly helpful host Not far to walk to town, museums & river Tea/coffee facilities Spacious
We were on ground floor so you could hear street noise from young locals
Good size bedroom with a huge marble bathroom. Staff is very helpful, even though they don't speak much English.
This was hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed at. For me the toughest thing for a hotel, bed and breakfast, or any other type of accommodation to get right is adding a personal touch. Novella House did just that. This was exactly the point in our trip where we started to get homesick and Novella House helped us feel right at home and comfortable as can be. Specifically, Giovanna (Francesco's mother) went out if her way to help my girlfriend and I plan the perfect day excursion to Chianti. She advised us on the most cost-efficient and comfortable way to arrive, offered to store some of our larger bags, and even contacted me when she realized we left our adaptor behind. We will DEFINITELY be back and we highly recommend Novella.
That we couldn't stay longer
Easy access from the train station. The lady from the B&b was very kind and nice. The property is nit very central located however giving the size of the city, it is really easy to reach every attraction.and very importantly, it is safe. The room is large, has a separate small lounge, it will be beneficial for a long stay. There are some cookies, tea and coffee maker in the room: not a real breakfast, but it doesn't bother us.
Not really. Maybe a suggestion as a consideration for a future upgrade: the carpet and the sofa in the leaving room is a bit old.
