The hotel seems to be quite new. Rooms are modern and nicely designed. Very clean. They give you free bottles of water every day, which is really nice. Also, they leave you chocolates in the evening. In the morning, you can find your country newspaper hanging on the door of your room, which I thought it was quite amazing. They also have shoe cleaning machines on every floor, next to the elevator. I had never seen that before, and found it to be very useful. The breakfast is nice and with many choices. Thanks to all the Nu team, I had a great time!
Breakfast juices were not fresh, and they tasted a bit strange. I would definitely suggest improving on that. Also, the joint between the bath tube and the wall was a bit dark (room 306) and needed some high-temperature cleaning with a steam cleaner machine. I always look at these type of details, sorry :) Basically, the only downside of this hotel is the location, but metro is literally 3 mins away walking, so you can reach the city centre in about 20 mins. If you need to spend more than 2 days in Milan, buy a 48h public transport pass at the metro machines and you won't have any problem. I think this hotel is a great deal. Almost new, cheap and close to the centre. As we say in Spanish.... bueno, bonito y barato!!
The dataff was pretty kind specially Manuela the girl at the front desk
Very nice hotel, very comfortable, hotel staff very helpfull and very friendly, breakfast was delicous!
free WiFi worked great nice breakfast great shower, good bed
rooms are rather small
Staff were incredibly rude and extremely unhelpful. Booked the hotel because it offered free parking - there was no parking available at all. In the morning our car would not start, we went to the staff to ask for any assistance / jump leads / a mechanic nearby - their response 'I don't drive, can't help you'. Checking in we were told we had to pay £70 extra for a reason I'm still yet to understand. All in all, service was diabolical. Avoid this place
Location, cleanliness, comfort, no noise, modern ambience
A little pricey
Nu Hotel is situated a bit outside the center of Milan, but still, very close to a metro station and getting to the center by metro is no problem (you have to change lines once, though - but altogether it shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to get to the center). On the way from the hotel to the metro station, some nice restaurants and bars are located. Also, the hotel was very comfortable to reach from the highway. The rooms themselves and the hotel in general are very clean, comfortable and quiet and the furnishings were of high quality. Also, the design was very modern and the staff very friendly and anything you asked them for, they provided you with (e.g. extra blanket for the double room, higher temperature, information on the city...). For breakfast, they also used quality products and offered a good variation (sweet, sushi, fish, ham, salami, cheese, eggs, bacon, cereals, yoghurt...) and the breakfast room (which serves as a restaurant during the day/at night) is located on the top floor, which I can imagine being exceptionally lovely in spring and summer. Since we arrived by car, we looked for hotels with parking spaces and Nu Hotel offers free parking, which is great. Overall, the price was adequate to the service the hotel offers and provides.
Probably the most inconvenient fact was that no room has individual control over the A/C. The temperature was pleasant, but some might prefer a higher temperature. When we called the front desk and asked them to raise the temperature for one room, they did so at once, so this was great service, again. However, the A/C was turned on all night and generally, you could not turn it off, which was quite uncomfortable. Though, in order to turn it off, you could remove your key card and in turn would turn off all the power in the whole room. Another inconvenience is the size of the beds, which are quite small (approx. 160cm for a double and 90cm for a single). However, for the duration of two nights, it was okay and the beds were comfortable. While the breakfast was delicious and the variation as such was plenty, the individual portions were sometimes a bit small and not filled up immediately after a previous guest took the last piece. Furthermore, all cooked dishes were rather cold. The last inconvenience is a minor one, and concerns our arrival by car. The hotel provides free parking spaces but those spaces are in a side street behind the hotel and not, for example, in a garage, which would be inaccessible to the public. You have to get a key at the front desk to unlock the barrier in order to park and we got the last parking space when we arrived. However, at night, several parking spaces were free again, which made us assume that not only hotel guests park there. And if you have a rather new or maybe quite valuable car, you feel a bit uncomfortable to leave it there (especially looking at all the other cars driving around Milan). But again, this is only a very personal inconvenience to our otherwise great stay. Overall, the positives certainly outweigh the negatives and I would stay at Nu Hotel again.
Immaculate Clean. Modern rooms and hotel communal areas. Complete Breakfast with Sushi and Dumplings as well! Great location and very good communicated to the main city attractions as tube is just 200mts away and also to the main roads to Bergamo, Lake Como or Switzerland. Free Parking Friendly staff
Room temperature ( air con) cannot be regulated or switched off from the room and sometimes got really hot at night and a bit noisy because of the air con but luckily windows could be opened which was a relive! Breakfast hours are from 6.30am to 10am, including weekends and bank holidays. It was really hard to get up at 9am on the 1st Jan after a late New Year's Eve out in Milano! I would suggest to extend the Bfast time for at least one hour on weekends and bank Holidays...
The fact that the first day of the year the hotel's restaurant was closed and it wasn't that easy that day to find something decent to eat in Milan.
Love the location - close to Udine metro, grocery store, bank and restaurants. The room is very clean and well appointed. Friendly staff. Good breakfast spread.
No English instructions on how to use the phone and TV (subtitles).
nice breakfast with a view on top floor is a real plus
no direct access to room floors by elevator ; poor choice of TV channels ; curtains not opening so no day ligth
Nu Hotel was very clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were modern and interesting. It is near to a convenient metro station.
Poor cancellation policies: be aware of this before you book! Through no fault of our own, our flight was delayed by 24-hours. We were alerted of this 6 days in advance, so I contacted both Booking.com and the hotel to see if we could change our arrival date by one day and cancel one of our two booked days. Nu Hotel refused, and eventually said that they would make this change for a fee that was DOUBLE the cost of 2 nights at the hotel. So, to change our reservation to one night they wanted to charge us for four nights total. Completely insane. Of course we decided to just leave the reservation as it was and pay for the day we weren't able to be there - but then the front desk said that we may be charged a no-show fee equivalent to 1 additional night for not checking in on the day we originally said we would arrive. They eventually said they wouldn't do this and we could show up on our second booked day at no additional cost. The whole ordeal was extremely frustrating and I will not stay here again. I stay at a lot of hotels and I have never encountered one so inflexible, especially when the change is due to a problem with a flight. So - be aware, if there is any change to your arrival day you could be in for significant extra charges. No temperature control in rooms: our room was stifling hot but there was no air conditioning. We had to leave the window open, which meant loud street noise all night and mosquitos getting in the room. Bad wifi connection: their wifi connection kicks you off every 20 minutes or so, and then you have to re-log in by entering a lot of hard to remember account info. Very annoying. No room service and a restaurant with extremely limited hours/seating availability.
Location when travelling with the car
I woul prefer less "design" things, but more of comfort, more clean bathroom facilities and internet without need to re-connect.
Cute room, comfortable bed Nice shower Location near metro Breakfast was pretty good, they served mini pancakes (yay!) and fruit, yoghurt, eggs/bacon (plus: fresh orange juice at a small extra cost)
In Milan for a quick business trip, the hotel is not in the centre of Milan which can be reached in 15 minutes on the Metro, but as a result offers great value for money. We were served quickly on arrival, the deluxe room was large, comfortable and the spacious bathroom was stocked with toiletries. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The dining room on the top floor was light and airy - we only used it for breakfast which was excellent with a wide choice and excellent food. We would like to go back to visit Milan for a weekend break and we will definitely use this hotel again.
One lift needs to have a room key swiped to operate but this was not mentioned by the staff - but once learned was not a problem. The room book did not make it clear how to access the Sky TV, but a call to reception quickly sorted this
High quality services (like internet on TV) & top floor breakfast.
Great breakfast - sushi!! Great rooms
pretty much everything was fine... people are very nice and helpful
Room is not so big, but ok. My friend had a room with noisy air conditioning that staff couldn't solve.
Very well organized modern hotel, near the public transport sysyem and excellent breakfast, rooms well set up, new and clean.
Very nice & modern hotel.
No closet in room.
Staff especially Gorgio
The building was easy to spot, the staff spoke English well and always did their best to try accommodate any requests even if it required a quick google translate search. The room was good, bathroom clean and everything placed neatly. Breakfast was very good, wide selection, fresh, and in enjoyable setting. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.
When checking in there was some information that was missing; wifi code, the fact that breakfast was on level 6, the staff member forgot to do the registration form. Simple things to rectify though.
The room was rather small, but more than adequate, well arranged and appointed. The staff were eager to help locate car rental, restaurant, etc. The breakfast was especially good served on the roof-top terrace.
Nothing. It was all good from start to finish.
Professional and friendly staff, great breakfast, good WI-FI connection, close to subway station
Bed is relatively small, bathroom did not have any ventilator (at least I have not seen one), no parking
