Wonderful view from balcony!!!Palms, cypresses, birds, green hills with little houses look very nice! Fine street market in Friday. Easy get to Portofino,Genova and many other towns nearby. Thanks Fam.Sabini for their care. I'd like to add refrigerator in room, so many products you want to taste in Italy but most of them need cooling especially in summer.

The family who own and run the hotel are wonderfully welcoming and hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble and they take a personal interest in making sure you enjoy your holiday. It is a one star hotel and they are conscious of that but they give 4star service!!! The location is very convenient for the town and the station. The room is very clean and quiet. The breakfast is plentiful and varied and served with friendliness and enthusiasm. There was no Wifi

The warmth & hospitality of the owners is what really made our 5 night stay a real joy. Nothing was too much trouble and guaranteed you won't leave the breakfast room wanting more. This is definately a must for value for money and true Italian hospitality.

The Sabini Family was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were sparsely decorated but clean and well cared for. The more expensive hotels are on the water, but also next to very busy street. Hotel Nuova is a few blocks away from the beach but you have a more peaceful neighborhood. We would definitely stay there again.

Staff is very hospitable and friendly. Location is good for all activities (beach, city centre, shopping) No WiFi at all ( hey, we are in 22 th century) No parking (hotel proposes parking but 10 minutes walking and expencive) No air conditionning ( very hot in the summertime)

Very ordinary hotel so not much to say about it. Perfectly decent. The woman on Reception - the daughter of the house? - was very unhelpful. The older man - her father? - was like Basil in Fawlty Towers. Being told to talk quietly when checking in during the afternoon as "our guests like to sleep in the afternoon" (but the hotel was largely empty) didn't get things off to a good start. At the end of our 2-night stay to be told that it was only as a special favour that we could leave our bags there until late afternoon didn't help either. No other hotel I've ever stayed in has pointed out that there is no requirement for them as a one-star hotel to offer this service.

We thought this quaint hotel may have been a bit of a disaster, but it turned out to be quite a hoot. The staff (father and daughter) are charming - almost over-friendly. There is no lift, but they carried our bags up the stairs for us and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. There is no internal common area (except the breakfast room), but there is a nice little alcove in the garden where you can sit on sunny days. Breakfast is fantastic. Cereal with yoghurt and fruit, with eggs done as you want and plenty of bread or foccaccia and good coffee or tea. Nothing seemed to be a trouble. But this is not a luxury hotel. The room was spartan, but it was counteracted by the warmth of our hosts. No lift (although the staff are happy to carry bags), and no common area inside.

The Hotel Nuova Rivera is a very friendly, delightful, small family run hotel. This was our first stop in Italy and received a very warm welcome. Our room was small but lovely, looking out over the hillsides of Santa Margarita de Ligure. Cristina gave us a wonderful iti draft for exploring the surrounding towns: train to boat, then hiking. She also helped us with our train reservations to Florence. Her father, Giussepe, was very friendly and served us breakfast. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Family who runs the hotel is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was outstanding and breakfast was the best on our 5 week Italian adventure, right down to the "ball tecka" (boiled egg) in an egg cup! Will definitely stay there again Catherine, Grand Rapids, Michigan Directions from the train station would have been easier going down the stairs from the station to the beach and then up the hill to the hotel, but otherwise everything was perfect.

I was travelling alone and after 2 flights and taxi rides I just wanted to relax. I had come to the right place. I was shown to my room, given maps, ferry and train timetables and a bottle of water! Nothing was a problem. It was nice to relax in the garden after a long day of sightseeing in the region. And the breakfast was delicious - there was no reason to go hungry. And I was an easy stroll to the town centre and seaside. The little things also make it easier - like suggesting I go buy my train ticket the day before I need it, organising a Taxi for my trip to the station. Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay.

the location in the center of santa margherita the fact that we were not allowed to move the car also, there should be a do not disturb sign, in case we want to sleep longer and do not need the room to be cleaned, instead of working on the cleaning lady's schedule

We were very happy staying at the hotel. We had a large room albeit it was meant for 4 persons. The staff were very generous with their suggestions and their English is good. Breakfast is quite good with scrambled eggs thrown in which is almost unheard of in a 1 or 2 star hotel. It is situated close to the centre of Santa Margherita, buses and ferry terminal. The train station is a pleasant downhill walk if you don't have heavy luggage however if you do a taxi is the only option at a cost of 15 Euro. We would definitely recommend this hotel as it is excellent value for money especially in this area. The only complaint we had is that the hotel tends to be quite noisy. There is no WiFi.

The Sabatini family, father, son and daughter who run the hotel are very nice and hospitable and always willing to make your stay a good one. The hotel is a little run down, having been owned by the Sabitini's for over 40 years, but the rooms were clean, the towels were changed daily and the breakfast served each morning was great. We were given a bottle of water each morning to take on our outings. Also, when we arrived and when we left we were helped with our luggage. The hotel is a little run down.
