helpfulness of staff and proximity to sites. power shower breakfast
Breakfast very poor for what Rome has to offer; Old building and rooms;
The location is not excellent but you have nice restaurants nearby (also a macdonalds if you are in a worry, but don't go to Rome and only eat in it :P); Two metro stations at a 5 minute walk make of this hotel a nice spot to back up your stay in Rome; Quiet zone, near the defence ministry.
If I had to pick something I would say the amount of stairs. There is a small lift, but my friends went in it once and said they would rather take the stairs.
The rooms were quite old-fashioned with upholstered walls, but in a good way. It's decor was enjoyable and I especially liked the opening window and view out to the main street. The hotel is with walking distance to the metro (5 mins) and termini (10 mins) making it an ideal location for those just visiting Rome for a few days because you can get around independently without any hassle.
The noise from the street below
Great location, beautiful old building..
The towels were as thin as paper towels. Our room was old and in need of some help. I don't mind old at all, it just seemed to be in disrepair. The shower water could only be contained in the shower by packing towels around the entrace to the shower on the floor. There was a distinct musty, unpleasant smell in the room every time we entered. We had to keep our window open most of the time to reduce the smell. We stayed at 4 different hotels during our stay in Italy and the breakfast at the Ociania was by far our least enjoyable. Minimal selection, mostly pastries and sweets. After a few days we couldn't face it again.
We wanted to be close to a metro station and to the main train station (Termini). This was a great location for both. However, this part of town is definately less favorable than some others. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was fairly good for a room in Rome for 3 people.
Staff and quietness.
Would have liked more English TV stations, could only find one. WIFI spotty in room sometimes. We only had one breakfast during our 4 night stay due to early tours, but would have like a little more protein offered...more sweets than we needed at breakfast.
Wonderful, helpful staff. Lovely room with excellent walk in shower which was very helpful given our mobility issues.
close to the main railway station, the staff there are really friendly, spacious and clean room,
We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Oceania very much. Really friendly staff (and it is rare in Rome, as we noticed), nice and spacious room, terrace between buildings. Wi-fi in our room was good. Breakfast also was quite good, delicious fresh coffee every morning.
The hotel was rather hard to find. Don't trust google maps - they don't give you directions to the right place.
The staff was helpful, room was great and breakfast was tasty!
Only 2 TV channels not a major problem but if the weather is bad. Poor picture quality of the 2 channels.
The staff was not very friendly (exception the cleaning crew). The front door opener was not working and on two occasions we had to wait 30-45 minutes for the staff to open it. The elevator barely worked. The staff said we could park our rental car in a space safely but the car was towed causing other issues. The room smelled baddddd! told the staff who could not explain why. Had a second room that did not smell.
Good location with a fair price
The breakfast room is too small
Location and value for miney
Small shower, less shampoo & gel shower & soap (for 1 not for 2).
A very comfortable room, delicious breakfast every morning of our stay and very friendly and accommodating staff.
Friendly personnel, clean and comfortable rooms, great location
location, near metro station and bus station in an old building but very comfort staff are so nice and friendly breakfast is perfect
Charming hotel, close to Termini Station (under 10 mins). 15-20 minute walk to Trevi district. Staff very helpful. Lovely breakfast. Comfy bed, good A/C. Nice variety of restaurants on the streets near hotel. Could hear people rehearsing opera from our room which was a nice treat!!
No tea or coffee facility in the room - however room service was good just 2 euros per hot drink
Friendly staff good location close to public transport
5 minute walk from Termini (main train station which has an express train to the airport) Great staff. Incredible value
really good location and friendly stuff. The breakfast was good (typical italien breakfast). ideal for a weekend trip to Rom
We had to pay €30 for 2 people for 5 nights stay when we check out as city tax. It was mentioned nowhere when we booked the hotel. The wifi signals are only near the front desk and breakfast room.
The front desk is open 24 hours and the staff is very very friendly. The room was warm and no problem with hot water.
Everything was clean, the WiFi worked better in public areas, a great breakfast served every morning and the friendliest staff. We have stayed in four other hotels in Rome and the quality and location is far superior to any other hotel we stayed in.
