The restaurant too expensive, wine expensive, waiters reserved and 'fearful' to engage in some kind of discussion. I am Italian , would have been nice if they could have exchange some chat in my own language. it was as if they had been instructed not to talk to clients.
I have travelled all over the world and always find a pleasure to exchange a few words, nothing too personal. The waiter is the face of the establishment, they were very chatty with others members of staff; this proved that they had much to say, but not to clients.
It was the opposite of the local population.
I suggest that engaging with clients is a norm, unless the client makes it clear that they don't want to talk. 10 out of 10 for the cleaners, lots of smiles and welcoming gestures.
Good facilities, well kept, comfortable and reception staff very helpful.
