The hotel had a very useful free shuttle service that operated at any times of the day and there was transport to the station and docks. The staff went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The food was excellent.

Great location on beach. Parking area is well maintained. Restruant was excellent. Trotting racetrack is less than 5 minutes away from hotel.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble. A very well run Hotel,ideal for everyone, not too big not too small. The internet access was superb. The Hotel parking was excellent..The Hotel Restaurant was excellent.

The staff was very helpfull and the rooms were very clean. The price was very good for this sort of hotel at this time of the year. The location is good as it is out of the city. The breakfast was also very good.

There is no restaurant in the hotel itself at this time of year, although there is a basic restaurant just in front of the hotel itself. If you have a car then the location would not be a problem

Fantastic - we chose the Hotel Olimpico as very good value and ticking all our boxes - swimming pool, hi speed wifi, free shuttle to Salerno central/train station. We have not been disappointed. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. Huge bed, two further beds for the children, massive and delicious and varied buffet breakfast included. The staff could not have been more helpful. On the first night we had a problem with our room's proximity to a balconied room with a smoker. The staff immediately gave us another room. We had taken a late October (half term) break in Italy primarily with the view to enjoying some sunshine and visiting Pompeii and Herculaeneum. All accomished with no stress and the greatest of ease of travel. There is a no frills restaurant opposite the hotel with delicious and very cheap pizza and pasta. Although it was noisy Saturday night (as a previous comment says) - we felt we were seeing real Italians enjoying themselves as opposed to being in a sanitised resort. And if you have taken the time to read this far I will outline the excursions we made over 3 days: 1. Catch the 7.35 shuttle for the 8.01 train to Pompeii to see the sites there. 2. Catch the 7.35 shuttle for the the 8.01 train to Porcini Ercolano (rather a walk from the station so take a taxi if there is one) to see in no particular order: the extraordinary and wonderful ruins of Herculaeneum; the really excellent MAV (Museum Archaeologico Virtuale; A trip up Mt Vesuvius neogiating a Eu10 max per person taxi to near the top with a 90 minute (enough) walk around. In my view Herculaeum was better than Pompeii so if you choose this one I would go for this one. 3. Catch the 8.50 shuttle to catch the 9.40 ferry to Amalfi. Then take the bus up to Ravello and visit Villa Cimbroni. If we had extra days I guess we would have taken ferry to visit Capri. But the first day we just hung out round the pool in the sun.

So it all sounds too good to be true? - why is this hotel half the price of those in Sorrento or Amalfi? - well the downsides are - the hotel is on the non-beach side of the coast road which is quite noisy with cars. As you travel out of Salerno on the free shuttle bus along the coast road to the hotel you do wonder if you are going to arrive at somewhere half built. The surroundings are not sulubrious but this makes the Hotel Olimpico all the more of an Oasis. The trains and buses are very cheap and easy and because of the hotel free shuttle, you can use them easily and from the airport (use the sita bus if the times fit).

The restaurant was closed for the season. The was a pizzeria on the other side of the street withe very limited choice of food.

Excellent value for money. Very pleasant staff and comfortable modern room, albeit a bit small, with balcony.

Restaurant not open as end of season and absolutely nowhere to go to eat other than hotel over the road which was not great. We used it as 2 night stop over whilst driving south but would have had difficulty staying longer at this time of year. Not sure how many restaurants appear in summer but none in nearby Battipaglia.

Very nice resort, well arranged and decorated, beautiful grounds, great beach area, staff friendly and always helpful. Shuttle to Salerno was efficient and well scheduled. Food is wonderful. Pepe and his wife are absolutely delightful.

Location is several miles out of Salerno making it a good location if guest have a car. There is a bus stop directly in front of resort, but the bus system from Salerno is questionable at best. However, the Olymipico has an absolutely wonderful shuttle system of their own, making it a great choice even without a vehicle.

This family run hotel was wonderful. We had a rental car and liked that it was not right in the busiest part of the city. It had safe parking for the car and we had a VERY comfortable room. The people at the front desk are excellent as far as helping with any questions you may have. The rooms were very clean and good size. They had the largest bath towels I have ever had and I have been many places in the world. The breakfast that was included was a full buffet. Drinks at the bar and light food at night was reasonably priced. They were not open in the evening for a big dinner but just a short walk across the street took you to a little place with ok food. They had a free shuttle service from the hotel to Salerno that was great. It saved us from driving into the busy city with our rental car or paying lots of money for a taxi.

On Saturday night a place down the street had disco music that went on til about 3 in the morning and could be heard down the other end of the block. Other than that no problems.

The majority of the staff was really friendly and helpful (a few weren't very friendly), the food was good, pool and beach were lovely. The free shuttle to the train and ferry port was very useful.

The hotel was much better than expected in terms of facility, staffs, restaurant and whole experiences. We had a great time, and we wish we could have stayed longer.

The building directly in front of the hotel does not look good and obstruct otherwise great view of the ocean.

We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Olimpico. We had looked at many reviews and glad we did as would not have chosen any other hotel. The staff was fantastic and the hotel is a complete package from great food with huge complementary breakfast buffet to free shuttle rides to ferry, town or even train station. If you are looking for a Hotel look no further as this is the best you will find!

We were instantly impressed with the hotel once we arrived. We had had a long drive that day so its secure parking and professional appearance was a welcome! The hotel seemed very busy with families as well as couples. Our room was very clean and had a large balcony. The pool area was nice and spacious. We ate in the hotel and the food was very good. Very big portions! The buffet breakfast was also very impressive, very large selection. The beach was also across the road as well.

There didn't seem to be much in the surrounding area. It is a good bit outside Salerno but we had a car so that didn't bother us. I do beleive there is a shuttle bus in and out to the city though.

Everything about this hotel was incredible - the amazing pool, gorgeous private beach just across the road, lovely comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicous breakfast, the list just goes on and on. Very economical, relatively easy to explore the stunning Amalfi coast from here and all in all a really good find.

As many have mentioned, it is quite far out of Salerno. Because of this I would have liked a few more options regarding the hotel shuttle times. We caught the bus once and it was very convenient and the driver very accommodating, but unless you book quite a bit in advance it quickly gets fully booked and then you need to make alternate transport plans - in our case 30 Euros for a short taxi ride back to the hotel! Possibly they could run more frequently, even if a small charge is levied. Another thing I would have liked is coffee-making facilities in the room and possibly an English TV news channel.

This hotel was a bit out of town, which was excellent. The staff offered a free shuttle into Salerno, and it removed us from the bustle so we could focus on relaxation. The food was excellent, the grounds were beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed was a bit hard. Actually, it was two beds strapped together, so it was doubly bad.

As a mature (widowed) lady I really wanted a get away retreat, and this turned out to be a ‘family’ resort, but in turn that was great as there were lots of people to talk to and to interact with.Again I thought that I would have preferred one right on the Amalfi Coast, but this worked well as the Shuttle Bus was able to do lots of trips into Salerno , to the train, to the bus and to the Port or Ferry Terminal. The Pool was a good size and the gardens were well kept. The children's playground was more than adequate for the many children there at the time. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.The 3 meals during the day were really good and delivered with pride by the waiters, so all in all it was a good time. A must to do there is a visit ( by local bus at the front door) to paestum a 2500 year old greek city with 3 wonderful Temples. It is 20 minutes away and another world entirely.

The beach itself was well maintained at the hotel olimpico section, but the rest of the beach was extremely dirty and the water was brown and unpleasant... I personally had wanted a spa or massage area, but there was none on offer...
