room is very big
only one bathroom to share with two other room
Really good location, friendly staff, comfortable room, no problem with the shared bathroom it was always free and clean when needed. Yummy restaurants and cafes close by. A supermarket just down the street.
The Orchidea is a 5-6 minute walk from Il Duomo, which is about as central to Florence as you can get. I found the following to all be within a max of 10-12 walk: Il Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio and Galileo Museum. For reference, I stayed 4 nights in Feb 2015, and paid €96 (approx. £75). Matilda, who runs the place, is able to help with any questions, queries etc you may have. Room was a comfortable size, and the bathrooms (shared) were spacious. Keyed access is 24 hours. I would have no problems recommending this to solo travellers or couples.
Given the central location and reasonable price paid, I experienced no downsides to this accommodation whatsoever.
Very central in the old part of Florence. Only 5 minutes from the Duomo (on foot). The rooms in the rear are very quiet.
It is an inexpensive hotel, so don't expect 5-star luxury.
Perfect location, exactly in the Centre of Florence. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Just good words!
I can't believe that I can book such a good hotel with this price! The single room's bed is big, the shared bathroom is clean, even can be described as delicate. Decoration of the house is fantastic. Everythings are so good！
Great location and nice staff.
The noise made it almost impossible to sleep one night (Saturday in January). Weekdays are MUCH better, but still earplugs (provided) are beneficial to a good nights sleep. I imagine in Spring and Summer are even noisier.
-has a bed in breakfast feel (shared bathroom and living areas) -staff were extremely kind, even after credit card payment was slow to be processed by card company -had extra key made so group did not have to share one -overall very clean and comfortable!
The location of the property was great - so close to the duomo and on a busy street. The room is spacious, comfortable bed and the toilet/shower was fine. Try the gelato shop across the road!
Friendly & helpful staff Location Ambience
WiFi requires a lot of patience! Street noise . Terrible directions on Booking.com No heater controls
The room is very comfortable and warm. All the staff I met are very friendly. We like the decoration and furniture of the room. Everything is near, including a coop supermarket about 1-2 mins away.
The hot water wasn't working well. My mom caught cold in the shower.
staff are very friendly, very considerable. Most comportable stay in italy
perfect location, amazing atmosphere (this is palazzo where Dante's wife was born), very clean and comfortable. Thank you for all, dear Miranda!
Everything is perfect! Thanks a lot!:)
fantastic location and great price!
Location, warm during winter
Hot water wasn't hot. Only one bathroom
As usual, Miranda and her team are warm and welcoming. I have returned often this year and the previous year. They(staff) are willing to answer questions or try to help solve any problems that might arise. Again..thanks for the great stay!
Loud late night people...bring your earplugs if you are on the street side. This has nothing to do with the B&B!
The room I stayed in was beautiful, bathroom and room was clean, wifi was reliable.
Very noisy when other people in the apartment open their doors and close their doors.
Great location, friendly staff and breakfast coupon for local bakery/coffee shop.
I unfortunately had to cut my visit short but, because of the short notice, could not change the booking on booking.com. Despite this Miranda went out of her way to try and fill the room for the two nights I wouldn't be able to stay so in the end I only paid for the nights I stayed
Wifi didn't work. Not sure if the problem was with the hotel's wifi or with my phone, though
Great Staff, comfortable room, clean, very accomodating
It can be a bit loud because the street it is located on is a busy area.
Confusing arriving to town via car and finding first parking and then hotel
Simple and charming room, friendly service and central location
a very good locality, with restaurants nearby, a few steps from il Duomo, piazza della signoria and such. it is not far from the via verdi bus stop from where you can get easily to santa maria novella bus and train station. a nice room with a water sink, mirrors. i had to share bathrooms, there are two there, but there was never problem to get into bathroom. I think clean enough. ask about tours they can arrange for you. there is a small bookcase from where you can borrow books. there is a kettle and coffee and tea bags and you can make your own tea.
noise in the street after midnight, if you have a room on the street side. but they give you earplugs.
It's a great location right in the middle of busy touristy center so while convenient can be a bit noisy at night. Bring ear plugs. Shared bathrooms are decent. Staff was very accommodating.
Can be a bit loud due to being in the busy touristy center.
Location and helpful staff
Very basic, overpriced, overrated, more like a hostel, on busy street with a lot of noise until the morning hours, thin walls, noisy flushing toilet next to the room. Couldn't find anything else in the center for one night but I will definitely not consider it for a second stay or more than one night.
