I unfortunately had to cut my visit short but, because of the short notice, could not change the booking on booking.com. Despite this Miranda went out of her way to try and fill the room for the two nights I wouldn't be able to stay so in the end I only paid for the nights I stayed
Wifi didn't work. Not sure if the problem was with the hotel's wifi or with my phone, though
Great Staff, comfortable room, clean, very accomodating
It can be a bit loud because the street it is located on is a busy area.
Confusing arriving to town via car and finding first parking and then hotel
Simple and charming room, friendly service and central location
a very good locality, with restaurants nearby, a few steps from il Duomo, piazza della signoria and such. it is not far from the via verdi bus stop from where you can get easily to santa maria novella bus and train station. a nice room with a water sink, mirrors. i had to share bathrooms, there are two there, but there was never problem to get into bathroom. I think clean enough. ask about tours they can arrange for you. there is a small bookcase from where you can borrow books. there is a kettle and coffee and tea bags and you can make your own tea.
noise in the street after midnight, if you have a room on the street side. but they give you earplugs.
It's a great location right in the middle of busy touristy center so while convenient can be a bit noisy at night. Bring ear plugs. Shared bathrooms are decent. Staff was very accommodating.
Can be a bit loud due to being in the busy touristy center.
Location and helpful staff
Very basic, overpriced, overrated, more like a hostel, on busy street with a lot of noise until the morning hours, thin walls, noisy flushing toilet next to the room. Couldn't find anything else in the center for one night but I will definitely not consider it for a second stay or more than one night.
The location is excellent! All the major sites are within 5 to 10 min walking distance. The building is old with plenty of character and history. Nicely decorated room with a high ceiling and large windows with a view of one of the oldest streets in Florence. The courtyard was lovely too. The street had several cafes and bars which provided convenience after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of local restaurants and bars on this street and the vast amount of Tourists as well as the narrowness of the street, it was very noisy until 3am most mornings. The street cleaning at 5.30 am was also very noisy. However, I still enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. I would imagine that a lot of residences have a similar problem due to the amount of Tourists.
Location was superb - close to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio etc - plenty of great cafés, restaurants and shops all round. Room was very clean and had character Owner/Staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
We were at the back so it was very quiet. Could be some noise from street at night if on the front side.....But we didn't hear any on our side.
I didn't realize that you have to book ahead of time to see the famous museums. Thanks to the staff at this hotel, I was able to see both of the museums I wanted to.
Miranda and her son, Mathew, were so friendly and helpful. The place felt like home. The piazza two doors down was the best in Florence . There were 5 or 6 places that were nice to eat and drink at. We were not far from the duomo and in a neat little shopping area.
The very freindly and helpful proprietor and very welcoming family atmosphere. The excellent location: very convenient for all the many attractions of central Florence plus very nice and reasonably priced nearby restaraunts. The airy rooms and the very good value for money
The hotel is on a busy thoroughfare near a square which attracts the young late night crowd - there is a busy bar only 50 meters away. therefore the bedrooms - especially on the lower floor - can be noisy at night. Fortunately I am a heavy sleeper and it realy did not bother me - but it might be a drawback for some
Location, staff, good sized rooms.
Front rooms get street noise( hard to avoid in Florence)
Simple and confortable
No breakfast No Wifi
it is close to the centre of Florence
the common bathrooms, but they were clean.
Friendly staff Huge room Huge bed Clean
Hard pillow Shared Bathroom
The location is great from a travelling perspective. It is easy to walk to the museums and shops, and you can walk to the train station in approximately 15 minutes.
The location is also a downside as far as sleep is concerned. The window on the North side of the building, facing Borgo degli Albizi, has a lot of foot traffic during tourism season. There are also street lights just outside the windows. This means it will never be fully dark in those rooms, and it will be quite loud until 2am on many nights. However, I am a light sleeper, so this may not be a concern to others.
- excellent service - hotel location is awesome - comfortable - felt at home
Just heart of city center. It takes 10-15 min by walk to almost all tourist spots.
Very friendly staff who operate a charming hotel in the centre of Florence. Our room was clean and tidy and remarkably quiet for the high tourist season. Every where is in walking distance, with an excellent array of shops, restaurants and cafe bars in the area. We were given keys so we could come and go as we pleased. The owners live on the floor above and kept reminding us they they were there if any assistance was required. We had a shared bathroom but you would never know it was shared as it was always kept immaculately clean. A really nice feel about the place and a recommended place to stay!!
We liked it all - no complaints whatsoever.
Very friendly staff, rooms/facilities all in good order, good value
Noise from street was quite loud.
Close to everything, restaurants, Duomo, Ifuzzi, etc.
A lot of noise at night from bars and restaurants on the street.
Brilliant location a short walk to all the sights. Authentic decor and cost rooms especially with a garden view. Staff we're very helpful and spoke fluent English.
I had a room facing the garden which was pleasant and quiet. The shared bathroom was clean, just as the rest of the hotel.
It was better than what I expected. The location is great. Less than five minutes walk to the great cathedral. Historical and clean building with relatively large rooms.
