The location is perfect. Right at Piazza Maggiore. The elevator is on the first floor, which means that you have to carry your luggage up to the first floor. The hotel is old and it smells. Very poor breakfast, while I saw some other travelers’ comments saying that there was a big variety and it was very good. I didn’t see any variety and the quality of the food is poor. Though I booked a deluxe double room with twin beds and view of the city, I stayed in a standard double room (the twin beds were basically as a double bed since they were next to each other) and with no view (we saw the roofs or the other rooms).

Very nice breakfast. Room was very fine. Free internet was nice, although I didn't get great connection. I struggled with the internet connection being reliably well-connected.

Been there before: location is ideal for all city visiting and it's generally quiet because there is no tradfic outside (though Friday night revellers in the Piazza can be a nuisance!). Free internet access and printing is a big plus. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. When we first stayed here we had a suite which was very spacious. This time we booked a superior double but it was quite small: perhaps 'superior' only because it had a view of the Piazza. But for 3 nights it was fine

Perfect and quiet location in the historic centre - luxurious decor - helpful staff. Good choice of breakfast provisions. We had booked a superior room overlooking the historic square - we were given a junior suit instead but the window only overlooked a back steet which was not what I had expected.

We had a beautiful, comfortable room with a nice view over the rooftops. The location was excellent, near shopping, sites, restaurants. The breakfast buffet was nice and available for several hours. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again without question!

It is very central (20 steps onto the Piazza Maggiore) so excellent for al nightlife, restaurants, shopping etc. The hotel is a little, teensy weensy old-fashioned, but he room was extremely comfortable, excellent double glazing (important as we looked onto the square) a well stocked minibar, very reasonably priced, a free bottle of wine and chocolates. Breakfast was plentiful with cooked options and an extremely extensive buffet. The receptionist could not have been less interested in us when we arrived. Admittedly it was later on in the afternoon and she may have been a bit fed up, but really! Next morning no better. A shame she was so grumpy. All the other staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, this would not put us off going back. Next time I would be looking forward to whether she could keep up the grumpiness, perhaps treat making her smile a bit of a challenge!

Centrality - extremely good concierge desk - the breakfast room was charming - the buffet was varied and much more than adequate. The hot water system likely needs re-installing.

I booked deluxe room based on the information of large room with histric center view. But reality was that there wasn't such a room, only regular size with city view and regular size deluxe room with bathtub and monotonous building wall view. I was trapped by the deceptive information. So, if you are interested in the hotel, I would recommend standard room and reconfirm the room condition directory before your stay.

Extremely comfortable and well run hotel - it blends the old style with modern amenties and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was impeccable and lounge very welcome after walking all day in the beautiful city of Bologna - but don't tell too many people. The vagrants outside the hotel should be moved away.

The character of the hotel and the location just off the main square, both rooms could be from a film "Room with a View". The bathrooms had been up-dated very well since my last visit. The public rooms are comfortable and Italianate. Breakfasts are good. Wifi was available. I had made the booking and had the paperwork. Our flight was delayed 5 hours by the general strike in Italy, but the hotel did not give my brother and his wife (touring Europe from Oz) any grief when they checked in ahead of us. Staff are courteous and helpful, but never intrusive. Sensible check-out time. This Hotel impresses me every time I stay there. The reasons for staying there below, I could say "all of these" applies.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location in centre of Bologna Breakfast buffet ran until 11.00am but savoury items, ham, eggs, etc were not replenished after about 9.15am. Not a complaint because there were plenty of options but a statement of fact.

Everything works and has been thought out, even the fact that the hotel is in a pedestrianised area has been covered off with arrangements for safe, close-by, parking. The rooms are small but very well done, with a good amount of care and sense

The location of Orologio is right at Piazza Maggiore, where something is happening every day. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, and offer advice, make restaurant bookings, they even gave us boiling water any time we asked to make our own tea. Breakfasts were very varied and filling, more than most European hotels.

Bet location one can imagine. Clean and large rooms, friendly personnel. The parking, although expensive, is a must have. Decent breakfast, but nothing special about it. Anyway, the location is worth the money.
