Elevator does not start at ground floor. Fine with us but warn older travelers..

The hotel is excellent, the staff at reception is superb, and the breakfast is fantastic.

The convenient location, the friendly, welcoming atmosphere coupled with efficiency and the way they changed our room from an up-graded suite at the front to a quieter deluxe room at the back with no trouble at all. Also, the breakfasts were excellent.

The noise from the Piazza on our first night, which was resolved when we moved to a quieter room at the back for our next two nights.

Its position is ideal to explore the city

The staff was friendly, professional, helpful, & effective. The hotel is attractive & comfortable, and the location and nearby restaurants were superb. Very impressed with Bologna.

The drain in the tub/shower was clogged & dirty, and badly needed cleaning. Could not tell that the carpet & floor were cleaned.

Very good location. Close to musems, shopping, restaurants etc. Nice and clean. Competent and service minded staff.On top of this we were upgraded to a suite, since we stayed a copule of nights. Thanks Art Hotel Orologio. See you again! The Wessbergs from Sweden.

Convenient location. The cozy and comfortable rooms, a spacious bathroom. Wonderful breakfast with a view of the historic city. Wi-fi worked well in the room)) in the store we bought a bottle of good wine and like to try it in the room. The staff brought a corkscrew and glasses in the room for this. Friendly attitude of the staff will not leave you indifferent, every evening we returned to the room as his home. Thanks for the warm remembering of Bologna.

We stayed at Orologio for one night. Immediately striking is its ideal location right on Bologna's impressive main square. Parking as such was not a problem as we purchased a €9 24h parking voucher entitling to parking in the city center (200m from hotel). The staff was very friendly and forthcoming with a very helpful doorman. The room was very clean and well decorated (with an intriguing clock-theme throughout the hotel) making you feel like in one of the Palazzi. Impecable comfort as well (event though the mattress was on the harder side) with nice window view. Excellent value for money too.

Fantastic location at a stunning price and yet very comfortable with good service and excellent breakfast - a real find!

You could not have been friendlier to our dog! He was treated as a "welcomed guest" and given a gift of a towel in a tote sack. We think that the female told us that he was welcomed might have been an owner because her photo holding a dog was on the marketing material for the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for seeing Bologna.

Art Hotel Orlogio is a lovely hotel, perfectly located and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For our family of five, we had two adjoining rooms that were perfect -- very clean, updated, good use of space. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. We left our camera in our rental car. We don't speak Italian and we credit the hotel staff with helping us get our camera back. They contacted the rental company for us, helped to follow up to make sure the camera was located and facilitated having it shipped safely back home for us. Incredible. Breakfast is included and is delicious with more wonderful staff making real italian lattes! I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The beds are somewhat hard, but typical for European hotels.

We liked everything about the Hotel Orologio it had a really lovely atmosphere. The staff, especially Georgio, were so friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were just beautiful and very comfortable.

friendly & efficient staff

Great location with helpful staff and a gorgeous room. We were upgraded one notch to a suite and it was very good. Possibly the best location of any hotel for the piazza Maggiore.

The lift is a bit of a nuisance, but this keeps it a 3 star hotel and we appreciate that.The breakfast was excellent, though no decent fresh bread. A strange tradition of putting in the lounge an empty bottle of champagne in an empty ice bucket, surrounded by nuts and crisps (quickly stale) each evening. Couldn't work that one out.

Even with a gps it took us almost an hour to find our way to the hotel. The gps mislead us several times. In addition, I had to stop and ask for directions several times, limited by my very modest Italian. The directions in the hotel email were very difficult to follow with street signs being either non-existent or difficult to see. A map with the route to the hotel would be helpful (see below). In contrast, on departure, the staff marked the route out of the centro very clearly and we were able to leave the center and reach the Strada with no difficulty at all. I wish a similar map were available for reaching the hotel on arrival, coming from the Strada

Location, cleanliness, decor

The location is perfect. Right at Piazza Maggiore.

The elevator is on the first floor, which means that you have to carry your luggage up to the first floor. The hotel is old and it smells. Very poor breakfast, while I saw some other travelers’ comments saying that there was a big variety and it was very good. I didn’t see any variety and the quality of the food is poor. Though I booked a deluxe double room with twin beds and view of the city, I stayed in a standard double room (the twin beds were basically as a double bed since they were next to each other) and with no view (we saw the roofs or the other rooms).
