Cavalieri del Tau is just half a mile from highway A11 exit in Altopascio center. It offers free parking, air-conditioned rooms and a restaurant serving Tuscan cuisine. Lucca is a 15 minute drive...

Very helpful staff, and very good breakfast. clean showers and bathroom
wifi very good, but only in the reception area, bunk beds were a bit high for my comfort.
-Large common area
-not enough outlet in the room -The room is dark
Great location, free parking, flexible check-in hours.
There waqs nothing appealing about this place except the location, it was appauling. Water flowed from the sink straight onto the floor, we asked to change rooms but were told to throw towels on the floor to soak it up. We couldn't use the shower as it was falling off the wall. There was no atmosphere. The staff were totally disinterested in us. The price was far too high especially as there were no facilities. I was surprised when we were asked to pay another 10 euros for a very merger breakfast. The sooner it closes the better! It is such a shame because Lucca is brilliant
Everything! The room was dirty, as well as a pile of dust under the bed there was an old used tissue. The towels were like tea towels, (but as we couldn't shower it didn't really matter). The lighting was very poor. Definately wouldn't stay there again. Not value for money and no facilities.
Impressive building/decor, comfortable beds, and reasonable price for an overnight stay.
Breakfast waiter was very eccentric, and took some persuading to be as helpful as he might have been. The maid was in the room before checkout time. The breakfast buffet was basic, considering it incurred an extra charge.
Liked the location, very central to Lucca. Very spacious and comfortable hostel.
Some of the facilities need improvement. I was locked in the bathroom as the lock was old and need repair.
Good value, location and cleanliness Omelettes good on first day
Staff could have been more helpful and friendly-appeared to be very short staffed Ran out of pastries and only provided apples when advertised "fruits" Cereal selection disappointing
Good location, near the historical center of Lucca. Free in-site parking.
Poor noise isolation between the rooms.
The price was great, the room large and a large separate bathroom, the 5 euro breakfast was good, location was very good.
Internet reception was hit and miss, never really got it working, but internet café nearby.
People. The dorms. Big lockers in room. Excellent place. It was a convent. Towels and linen.
spacious rooms lots of communal areas
only one plug socket in bedroom bathroom separate to bedroom
Great location, helpful staff and very clean. as a solo traveller it was easy to meet other people
Great building and location
There isn't a kitchen and if the place is marketed as a hostel. Then there should be a kitchen. It would be nice to create a cosier communal area to promote guest interaction. We liked the hostel but it could feel a lonely place to a single traveller.
The owner was very helpful and friendly. It was inside the old town walls and offered free parking. Breakfast was the usual Itailian spread. View out over lawns to historic walls.
Stated there were free bikes but tyres were flat. Room was cramped and tired. Grumpy unhelpful woman at front desk.
Very spacious and clean hostel with large rooms and spacious lobbies. Luxury bathrooms. I recommend it for families up to 6 members, not for individual travelers.
In a room with 6 dormitory beds there were only two contacts, both did not work! How can be not one working electrical outlet to plug your laptop or charge the phone or camera ?! There were not a personal reading lamp above or beside the bed. I can not say whether the bed was comfortable, because I spent the night in the lobby, charging my phone from one of contacts there. The hostel is located far from the station, the only way to reach with heavy luggage is by taxi and the taxi costs about the same as night. When I arrived, the bus line, which was supposed to serve the nearest station was stopped and the next morning there were no buses at 6:30 am.
Lovely old building with a relaxed atmosphere, located just inside the wall. There was parking available which we were able to use all day. We were able to explore the area on foot and bicycle which you can hire a short distance away. It is a beautiful city and staying in an old building inside the wall added to the experience.
Breakfast wasn't great not sure if typical of Italian breakfasts but cold tea and coffee and food very processed and poor quality.
Really good location, short walking distances to everything. Staff were helpful and rooms were spacious
Bit of a wierd atmosphere as its a massive place - maybe not somewhere to go if you are travelling alone. Perfectly safe and everything just not a hostel atmosphere
It was cheap and a clean bed.
It is a decent walk from the train station. You have to pay for a towel and breakfast.
Clean, well maintained
Access with car not easy. WiFi network only in common areas. No Air Conditioning
Nice historical building... great location in the middle of old town...with own parking. The stuff was good and helpfull.... rooms quite large and clean... Great ambient of whole place.. Good price for what is offered !!
Location, parking space
The place was clean and well located. Really close to some of the best points of the town.
The staff wasn't really good. They look like they didn't want ti be there. The waiter was reakky rude to me also. They say they have wi-fu, but it just works close to the reception.
Facilities. Poor breakfast.
I liked the feel of the old building, with its history
Pleased with everything
