Helpful staff, especially the 2 guys who works during the night shift
The bathroom door can't be locked!
The location is great! Even though it's not on the main island then you'll have to take the water bus to go out every day, it's much more calmer and the sunset was magnificent! And I loved the decoration of the hostel, and the staffs at the bar were very nice. The bed and the quilts are really comfortable. And even though we were in a 16-mixed room, it was very quiet.
When we just arrived at the hostel, we immediately felt in love with the atmosphere and decoration, BUT, that was totally RUINED by the staff at the reception. He tried to sell us the 'hostel international membership card' and was implying that if we don't buy this we couldn't even check in. It was 10 pm at night and he was very demanding, we got scared and almost bought it. Luckily we met some other travelers and they told us that's not compulsory. After knowing that we knew the truth he changed his tone immediately, saying that we could choose to not buy it...This was obviously a stain of our trip to Venice. Anyway, warning to people who's going there-- YOU DONT HAVE TO JOIN THE MEMBERSHIP. But to be fair, I'd have to say, except him the other staffs were really nice, helpful and friendly.
Design & atmosphere within hostel
No kitchen Having to pay for a waterbus everyday to and from Venice and the hostel
The roof was too low
Staff are friendly. Good wifi all around the hostel. Comfy beds.
Very big dorm rooms making it hard to sleep at times. Showers and bathrooms needed cleaned more regularly.
decoration and facility
the bar downstairs sometimes too noisy
Generator Venice is a perfect place to rest, in front of it you can seat and look at paassing boat with drink from Generator Bar. The facilitis were modern, every bad in sharring room have own shel, lamp and acces to electricity. For sure if I will come to Venice next time will choose it again.
Breakfast was boring and in shower was alwas water all around the floor.
Easy to find and get to. Island is quiet at night. Staff were very helpful at giving suggestions for visiting. Air conditioning!
The bathroom did not have soap during my entire stay...
Style and view of canal
No way to reach center except by boat
Comfy bed great lounge bar area Good links to station and the centre good wifi Rooms were clean and basic good storage box/locker
Bar staff were hopeless - hardly present during the day, and poor service when you finally managed to get their attention no kitchen or food storage facilities and no where to eat your own food Meals avaliable were fairly expensive for what you got - heard others complain about the food too Noise/music from bar at night
Charging your phones etc easy from your bed head :) Clean bedding, clean rooms. good atmosphere.
Nowhere to put and lock my backpack, didn't fit in the "drawers". Showers have no lock, no place to leave/lock/put your stuff. 2 showers and 2 toilets in 1 big "room" with 2 sinks. Toilets have locks. Hot water finished at 9am... Takes a while to get to by ferry.
Generator has the best and communal area and bar that I've been to so far. The drink prices are fair (for Venice) and they also offer food. The communal area consists of a large bar with loads of places to sit (one which includes a bed)! The room is very good with the beds being slightly boarded making them more private. A lot of fun staying in the hostel in the evenings due to the communal area.
When I asked the staff for good places to see in Venice and places to eat etc the staff simply replied 'everywhere' and 'find it yourself' as much as I can see the truth in that it is definitely not useful especially when travelling on your own. Very expensive. But this due to it being in Venice as well.
well designed hostel with very friendly staff and travelers
Everything was good except location. And this is crucial one.
Location is really outside of Venice center. There is no use to place your baggage after check out because the time you need to spend to go to and come back from the center is more than an hour totally.
tidy and clean staff are nice and willing to help the bar/restaurant on the ground flour is good, food is of reasonable price
since there was a heavy rain, the wall did not have good waterproof, water came through the wall
The chair on the first floor was pretty
i didn't like the fact that it had public bathroom and that, they had only 1 on my floor. it was very inconvenient.
I liked that this hostel was off the beaten tourist path in Venice. The facilities were clean and it had air conditioning. Beautiful city view of Venice.
The stay can be a little expensive because you have to take a boat bus to the island of Guidecca which is 7 euros each way.
The beds were comfortable and each had a light and power socket. The wifi was also good
The bathroom lights did not work properly and kept on going dark. There was also no space to put clean clothes while showering.
Nice atmosphere, cheap dinner and great outdoor space in front of the sea.
The luggage room was a mess and impossible to get inside with so much stuff in there, but it was free.
There is very closer to vaporetto station, decorated very well. Evrything is simple and useful. You can easly make friends from around of the world at bar or coastal area. You must try spritz :). Have a good holiday.
I didn't bring my bath towel as a result I had to pay 19,50 €. İf you want a towel, you have to pay to the resepsion. It is too much, not fair.
Room was clean. Fluffy pillow. Right on the water, so you can sit outside at night and enjoy the view of the city.
I brought a masterlock combination lock for the lockers and it was too thick... ended up locking up my stuff with my luggage lock which was not the most secure thing. Make sure you bring a lock that's one of those thinner padlocks, like where you line up the numbers, and not the ones with the dial, or it won't fit. The hostel is on an island so you have to take a ferry to get there, which adds to the cost and time it takes to get there with all your stuff. Waited on a line that barely moved to check in. Once it was my turn the staff was not friendly. I paid for an air conditioned room; the room was sweltering hot. The windows were kept open in an attempt to not suffocate, which just led to everyone getting bitten by mosquitos all night. I was awake all night sweating and left the hostel really early in the morning because I couldn't wait to leave. What made it worse was how expensive it was... this was the most expensive hostel I stayed in in Italy and the worst experience I had. I felt robbed, honestly. Thankfully, Venice was my first stop in Italy, so it was only uphill from here.
Clean, well organized. Easy enough to get to and nice location in Venice. Good price for the location
Food options and bar were very poor. Service pretty average, staff didn't seem to really care or what to be there. But helpful enough if pressed with questions. Definitely don't do breakfast or dinner here, food was disgusting. I guess that's good motivation to get out of the hostel
The air conditioning wasn't working when we stayed and the heat was unbearable.
