The hotel location is very near the St.Mark's square. it's a next Vaporetto stop of St.Mark's square. The hotel has restaurant. It's economical compared with others in venezia. And there are a small super market near this hotel.
you can use Wifi only in public area. it is difficult to connect in room.
Fairly clean room, comfy bed. But a bit noisy although I have stayed in the first floor. sound-proof room is desired.
The open bar with great music
Well, there is nothing to complain about within my 3 days stay in Generator!!
Clean and comfortable beds, good appearance, nice staff, good breakfast. Who ever stayed in a Generator don't want another one.
The Hostel was making reform and were a few workers and noise of hammer and stuff, but nothing that big. The access can be done only by boats and they can be really expensive( €7 each journey).
The staff were really nice. The food in this hostel were relatively cheep in Venice. The scenery from this hostel was really beautiful. And once you've taken a water bus, this hostel is really easy to find.
This hostel isn't sited in main land of Venice so taking a water bus is necessary to get there even though the water bus is quite pricey...
I loved how clean and close to everything it was. Sadly, the breakfast options left a lot to be desired. However, value for money was excellent!
The hostel is not on the main part of Venice, but being in another island, it is easier to find. Especially if you have a lot of bags. The bathrooms were clean and good. The bedroom was a little crowded, but was comfortable and clean.
The elevator does not reach the third floor and the wifi was not working in the rooms on that floor as well.
wifi doesnt work at room at all, located faraway from main island-and the boat was the only to get here
This hostel is modern and has a nice atmosphere. Placed directly at the canal grande (you need a vaporettoticket to get here) and the personal is welcoming.
There is no kitchen, to little showers (on the third floor) and the breakfast is a bit disappointing if they are telling you about a great buffet with different cereals and fresh fruits.
Clean room and comfortable beds. Good location. Tasty breakfasts.
A little expensive for hostel, but it's Venice. It would be also better if there were more shower rooms. On the 3rd floor there was no wifi signal, on the lower floors it was ok.
This hostel is truly great! The comforters were the softest things I have ever touched and it was all very clean. They have inexpensive safe boxes to put valuables and a luggage storage for those who have been hauling their things around. The location is great. I was nervous about it not being on the main island but that the best part. It's calm and feels safe but with the bar you don't loose the night life. I came in at midnight and the bar was very loud but it didn't make it to the first floor. The WiFi connection was amazing and only worked in the common area. I would never hesitate to stay with them again and look forward to trying their other locations!
The WiFi went one and off but that's my only complaint!
Wonderful staff, very comfy and chic. Mindblowing view.
A self-use kitchen/food storage opportunity would have been nice. Also, wifi only works on the lower floors.
The room is nice and the staff is friendly. The neighborhood is quiet too.
You have to pay for the water bus to get here.
The location, the bathroom, the bed
Wifi is too slow to play anything
Super well organized. Very helpful staff. Clean room and bed. Nice breakfast. Reasonable price.
Very close to the water-bus station (1min walking) and to St marcus Square on the main island (5-10min with the water-bus), night water-bus available all night, very helpful staff, very clean and spacious, free and strong wifi connection in all hostel, bar/restaurante inside the hostel and not very expensive (with happy hours), several and different activities every day and night.
There always seemed to be a great vibe at the hostel... Lots of things happening and a great chill out area.
The location was good but not perfect. It was only a short ferry ride across to the main island though.
Excellent personnel, oh my the sofas soo comfortable !!! Great atmosphere !
No wifi on last floor! The showers were a surprise normal transparent shower cabins (okay there is a few opaque strips but no lock or privacy )
Great hostel located on the same island as Hilton Hotel. 24/7 access to this island by water taxi. Staff (lady with blonde hair and lady with square black glasses) go beyond the call of duty to help you.
Check in time is late ex. 2:00pm - 3:00pm.
I really enjoyed the staff's friendliness and also the beautiful location of the hostel. Although it was expensive due to the carnival, I will definitely return to generator if I come again to Venice.
Price was a bit expensive, but it was understandable with the carnival.
The lobby was large and gorgeous, with breakfast option. All the staffs were very friendly and nice.
Wi-Fi was only available near the lobby, not in each room. I wish there was more private space around the shower so you can get undressed without the fear of being seen from outside.
The cleanliness, look and feel of the hotel was great, and we couldn't fault the helpfulness of the staff. It's really easy to get to and from St Mark's Square - just two stops on the Vaporetto, only took about 5 minutes, and we never waited more than 10 minutes. Our room overlooked St Mark's Square and the entrance to the Grand Canal - so pretty.
We had a private double room with en-suite, but we had a connecting window to the boys dorm, so whilst they were awake, we were awake, we could hear everything. Also, the hotel gave our room key to another guest by mistake, so make sure you bring padlocks with you, they've helpfully put a large under bed lockable draw, plenty of room for all your belongings. We ate in the hotel the first night and had a few drinks. It's all really reasonable, and the food is hot, but that's all. I had a pizza, which was not great! Depends on what you expect I guess, but for a couple of 'foodies' like us, we wouldn't recommend eating there at all, however hungry you are. Also - the breakfast is 20 euros a person (30 is you book the same day). We opted to go to the main 'island' and find a cafe. There's plenty, and it cost less that 20 euros for breakfast there. Don't eat in St Mark's Square though, the bill will be high!
The view from where is the hostel is great, beds are reslly comfortable and it has a lot of life in the nights
You have to pay for the transport to the island which is kind of costly and you have to consider that the boats are slow and it takes time to get where all the attractios are, anyway it's a nice ride with a great view
The reception is nice and warm and helpful.
I don't get wifi on the third floor in my room.
Everything was new and modern. Was very well designed. Beds were comfortable and private. Staff very helpful. Good atmosphere. Had a DJ on Friday night.
Tiny bathroom with only two toilets and two showers for whole floor. Food was ok but nothing special.
