Nestled in the heart of Como City, on the very edge of the lakefront, this 4-star hotel features panoramic views and lies just a stone’s throw away from the city centre.

A member of the Villa d’Este Hotels, the Palace Hotel & Centro Congressi comprises of 2 buildings: the historical Palazzo Plinius, one of the oldest in town; and the Pianella, a more modern wing, both offering a wonderful view.

Nearby you can find the main shopping area, filled with the best Italian designer boutiques, and many monuments, both antique and modern, including: the Cathedral; Via Vittorio Emanuele II; Portici Plinio; and Cavour Square, all of which are just a short walk from the hotel.

Food & beverage

Antica Darsena Restaurant is set inside the hotel, on the old dock of the villas. The dining room, with its refined furniture, offers a wonderful view of the lake. The cuisine comprises of local, Italian and international dishes, accompanied by a fine wine list and excellent service.

Garden Bar Ceccato is found in the gardens of the hotel, facing the lake. It is the ideal place for light dishes and snacks, including pizza and sandwiches. Taking a break outside, you can taste one of the finest ice creams in town.

Bistrò Restaurant of the Hotel Barchetta boasts a panoramic view of the lake and is the ideal place either for candlelit dinner or for business meetings.

For a very special evening, the Veranda Restaurant, located in Cernobbio on the beautiful grounds of Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, is elegant and superb. The restaurant offers first-class cuisine, meeting the expectations of the most demanding clients. Spectacular lake view. Dress code required.

The Grill Restaurant of The Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, offers a selection of Italian and International dishes in an informal and intimate ambiance.

The Palace Hotel's rooms are full of light and equipped with every comfort. Some of the rooms overlook the lake front, offering a charming view.

All rooms are non-smoking and equipped with safety systems in compliance with current regulations.

Area information

During your stay you can
- Visit the historical villas, including: Villa Olmo; Villa Carlotta; Villa Balbianello; Villa Melzi; Villa del Pizzo; and Villa d'Este.

- Hire a private boat or take a ferry along the lake where you can take in views of the most important villas. The lake is approximately 45 km long and 3 km wide.

- Visit typical villages, such as: Cernobbio; Bellaggio; Menaggio; Brunate; and Isola Comacina.

- Conduct or attend business events at the conference and exhibition centre of Villa Erba Cernobbio (3 km from the hotel).

- Spend a day shopping in Milan (only 45 minutes from Como).

- Take a tour in Switzerland: Lugano, Lucarno and the New Casino of Campione. The hotel is 3 km from the border.

Location. It was centrally located in Lake Como City. Right across from the boats to tour Lake Como. The complimentary breakfast was very good and served in a beautiful room.

The Garden Bar was a bit disappointing. Inside was very hot. No air conditioning. It was too hot to sit outside. Charged 6 Euros for ice sent to our room.

Loved the location.. Right on the lake. Reception staff were excellent.
A super room for the price!

Thought the breakfast staff were a bit rude and grumpy (maybe they had a
Pinot Grigio hangover like I did!)

Wonderful building, just by the lake, extremely close to the centre and adjacent to the railway station!!!

Ease of registration at start and at check out, garage car parking arrangements and efficient car retrieval at end of stay, room with a view of the lake + large picture window. Self service breakfast.

Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room. Beds are hard. A swimming pool/outside lounger area would be good - other hotels on Lake Como have this facility and it is appealing to tourists.

For our first visit to Como this hotel is in just the right place for the old town, boat trips and bars with evening sun. Fab location but no bar available for residents and the breakfast and reception staff are rather abrupt and superior. That said B&B is value for money and location makes up for their lack of "good will" towards their guests. Rooms are excellent.

getting to it was very difficult. Como is not easy to find your way around with a lot of one way streets that arent marked

El hotel no está habilitado con accesos para minusválidos ni sillas de

Ubicacion perfecta, parking amplio, habitaciones muy comodas, personal
muy atento y profesional

Ausencia de servicio internet en hotel de congresos, ausencia de zumo
natural en desayuno, contraventanas descolgadas que impiden cerrar las
ventanas y aislar de la luz exterior.

Ineducacion del maitre de los desayunos. Baja calidad buffet. Poco

Midden in de stad Como, vriendelijk receptie personeel, goed verzorgd ontbijt, ruime kamers

ondergronds parkeergarage kost € 15 per dag en is niet rechtstreeks bereikbaar, altijd via een hotelbediende dient de auto te worden opgehaald.

Schöne Lage direkt am Comer See

Sehr kleines Zimmer zum Hinterhof, entgegen der Werbung kein toller Ausblick; Frühstück und Angebot entspricht nach unseren Vergleichsmöglichkeiten keinem 4 Sterne Komfort, die Atmosphäre (Gebäude) und die Lage des Hotels sind definitiv 4 Stern wert.
