Overall is good. Things that I like: 1. reasonable walking distance to the dome, galleries, train station and city center 2. the rooms are spacious 3. the owner is very nice
Things that can be improved (not sure if anything can be done): 1. it gets noisy when people queue up at the gallery across the street (especially early in the morning)
having room to spread out. More comfortable than a hotel room. Great bathroom and very central. in easy reach of railway station.
Location, Owner was friendly and helpful, rooms were really large, spacious and clean
Everything was good. 100% are recommending fof all who want to spend nice time in Florence. Million thanks to Francesco for hospitality!
Lovely facilities... Great restaurant & bakery nearby... In the heart of Florence!
Our stay was great, location is perfect for all the tourist bits, comfortable and clean. Great recommendations from owner for cafés, ice cream and restaurants.
There was quite a lot of noise from the apartment upstairs on our last night which was a bit disappointing.
The morning we wanted to see David, we just peeked out the window as we ate our breakfast to watch the line form. When it got to 20, we strolled downstairs, crossed the street and were in the first group to enter! We could look to the right and see the Duomo. Easy walking to every major tourist sight. We saved hundreds of Euro cooking for ourselves, and Fran gave us the inside scoop to all the delicious local places. She was also very kind to us when I had to delay our arrival by several hours.
Apartment 1a had a fair amount of city noise. People, trucks, and daytime construction were the sources during our visit. If you are from the city, you won't notice, but from the suburbs, you will need some white noise to smother the street sounds. That said, if we return to Florence, I would rent this apartment again, if it were available, no question.
Location was amazing and the apartment was impeccable. We were traveling as family and loved being able to pop home for a snack or grab something we forgot with ease. You could throw a rock and hit the statue of David you are so close to the Museum of Acadeima.
The street noise was loud, but we were gone during the day and were not bothered. My wife slept through it fine at, but the street cleaning trucks did wake me a few times. If you are driving drive, please know that parking (garage) will run 27Euro each day.
Absolutely fantastic apartment. The location firstly was unbeatable.. literally opposite the Galleria Accademia which houses the amazing sculpture of David. From the apartment window you can see the queues which is great as instead of queuing for hours like the others you can just wait for the queue to go down and quickly pop out to go straight in. Also a 5 minute walk to the Duomo. The apartment is just breathtaking.. The size the decor the facilities all just superb. Incredibly clean and spacious. And Francesca who co-owns the apartment with her husband and her friend Giovanni really go out of their way to accommodate your every need.
That we had to leave.
- Great location for bus and taxi links - Within walking distance of sites - Very friendly host - Grand + luxurious apartment - Safe
We were at the apartment on the side of the street - very noisy due to the long queues for the museum in the mornings and street cars/cleaning late at night.
Building owner is very welcoming and helpful Location
discrepancy in booking for one night
Unbelievable location at the doorstep of Gallery Academia where Michaelangelo's original David is housed. Walking distance of all major attractions and Piazzas. Amazing sized drawing room and bedroom can easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 children of sofa bed.
Everything about this apartment was brilliant! We loved our stay at Palazzo Alfani - Residenza d'Epoca
Lovely quiet room overlooking the courtyard garden below. Very comfortable rooms, light and airy. The owners were lovely and made my stay special. Buses available from the piazza close by and short walk to the centre of Florence.
Great location situated just in front of the Academia Gallery Nice host who is polite and present without being overwhelming (well appreciated) Extremely good and efficient cleaning service (under-promised and over-delivered for sure) Very good quality of the bed
Apartment would benefit from fixing of the several small issues in the kitchen and bathroom Wifi could have worked better - needed to do some work during the stay and the connection was not 100% reliable
The location couldn't be better: staying here you are at 50m strait line from David. Incredible. Old palazzo, high ceiling, windows to the garden. Spring happiness.
One thing that has to be unbeatable is the location. It is in the middle of everything you want to visit in Florence. Just a hop to Galleria dell'Accademia, the site of the famous David by Michelangelo, and so you don't need to pre-book the tickets to see David. Just get up at opening time and you can be amongst the first in the line. The apartment was as expected and great value for money. We were on the second floor. The climb can be tiring for older tourists as there is no elevator. The apartment we stayed at was a single room one. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen was clean and the bedroom cozy. The kitchen had a refrigerator, microwave, an electric kettle, cooking vessels, plates and cutlery. The bathroom was also tidy and had shampoo, shower gel and lotion. The owner of the place was extremely friendly and she helped us with our luggage as well. She took the time to explain and scribble on a map what was around and when best to do what. Will definitely stay here again when in Florence. Wifi was free and great. We didn't have any issues with noise at night perhaps because our apartment faced the garden.
The housekeeping had arrived and waited outside at 10.15am since we said we would leave at around then. The checkout is at 11am. This made us a little uncomfortable during the last minute packing and even so since our child wanted to use the loo as we started going down the stairs.
The host was amazing, so friendly, helpful, polite. We had such an amazing stay at Palazzo Alfani, I would definitely recommend this to everyone. The apartment is huge, and fantastic facilities. Could not have asked for anything more!!
Some noise from people on the street but we did stay over the weekend so I'm sure it would be fine during the week. This didn't affect our sleeping at all but may for some guests.
We liked everything. The hospitality of owner (Francesca),the location. We enjoyed our stay in thus hotel and will recommend to our friends. Thank you, Francesca!
Lovely stylish place, very friendly host, central location.
Only minor things, we will still come back in the future: noisy street side, only one door key for a big appratment with several people, stairs and no escalator might be a problem for someone with limited mobility.
Everything was perfect. Merci pour tout!
I loved everything about this apartment. The location could not be beaten, just a short walk to the Duomo. The owners are delightful, even calling me whilst i was enroute to reassure me of my reservation as I hadn't confirmed as was requested. The apartment was lovely and provided all the necessary amenities. Everything was to a high standard. I couldn't fault it.
If you don't like a hard bed, which i do, it may be an issue for you.
we were there for 4 nights for my wife birthday and totally enjoyed our stay there. The apartment was great . Great location as it is very central and within walking distance to many tourists attraction. Right opposite to LE ACADEMIA , Francesca was wonderful and helpful in every way. we will strongly recommend Palazzo Alfani al David and we are already planning on our next trip to Florence and intend to stay there again
Poorish Internet, noisy at night
