Score from 115 reviews Very good
A renovated 13th-century building in the historic center of Florence, Relais Cavalcanti has views of the Palazzo Vecchio and Mercato del Porcellino. It offers free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms.
Score from 171 reviews Wonderful
Proximity to restaurants, the Market, historical sites.
A little overpriced.
Location was great with easy access to train station and many Florence sights.
Wifi was terrible, with spotty service the entire stay. Room was okay, but not sure it was worth the price.
Room was too small and little natural light. It looked into the building next door. There were stains that I could see on the mattress base and the bathroom was tiny.
Some mosquitoes in room, wi-fi a bit spotty, and could use some updating.
location (close to the train station and the historical center), very friendly staff speaking good English, effective sound insulation, comfortable bed, decent wi-fi
very basic breakfast, small shower, quite expensive
Electricity kept flickering not very friendly staff other than one man who recommended a great restuarant.
Location is excellent, close to train station and city center (54 min. walking)
Small place for shower and unstable wifi connection.
Beautiful restored house--we had a large and comfortable room on the 4th floor with a bonus patio. The staff were friendly and professional. The location was fabulous--20 steps to the Medici Chapels, just a few blocks to the Duomo, the Arno, and the rest of the historic area. I would happily stay here again.
I liked it all.
The location was brilliant! florence is not a big city anyway, but we were at a stone's throw of the Duomo! The staff were also great, super helpful and very very kind - all of them!
The room was a bit dated (very minor thing anyway, since it was impeccable and very spacious). The toilet was a bit strange as it wouldn't flush water on one side, so we ended up having to pour water in it with a bottle in order for paper not to float (only paper though, we didn't have any problems with anything else). Other than that, it was great. After all, this is a 3 star hotel (not 4 or 5), so it did match the expectations
Good helpful friendly staff. Very comfortable single room.
No wifi reception in room
Very helpful staff. Breakfast was abundant and of very high quality. Location is great! Half-way between the Duomo and the main train station. Loved staying there!
very late breakfast 7:30 am
Location - polite staff - cleanliness -wifi
The central location is perfect - right outside the Medici Chapel, and the staff could not be more helpful and attentive.
Nothing not to like here.
location -close to everything and 10 mins walk from station. Mostly helpful staff who were friendly and booked our slot at the Uffizi.
Be warned! They will not store luggage if you check in early as the people trying to check in when we checked out found out. They even offered to pay for a half-day but still no luck. The woman at the desk was not helpful and the hotel had plenty of room for a couple of suitcases. Her only suggestion was for them to take their cases back to the station and put them in left luggage.
Location was good.
Breakfast was poor, staff was not helpful. They could not cut money from my credit card even though they have frozen it and I had to pay cash as the card was blocked.
The Wifi isweak, specially in the room which is far away from the router.
the lady at the reception is very kind and helpful with a superb english. Also, iwould like to mention in partiular the breakfast staff, irene, is a very welcoming lady. I will return to that hotel most certainly for business trips and holidays.
Wifi is free at the entire hotel, no passwords. It gets slow at night though. The lobby is ok, the staff is nice but not everyone speaks English. The bedroom big and quiet but both room and bathroom are very simple and old, really need urgent renovation. Breakfast was nice, but hot chocolat was cold both times... We loved the breakfast room, beautiful. The location is very good, walking distance to train station and main atractions.
Not everyone speaks English.
One of the best locations in Florence
Difficult to reach by car
The staff was very friendly and attentive. Very well located.
Breakfast was good, location is excellent, close to station and duomo!
quite grubby, rooms jaded and tired, lift was a bit dodgy!
The friendliness of the staff The quiteness of the room
very clean,comfortable,good breakfast,central location,very helpful staff,especially owners Rafaella & her brother.
we have stayed at this hotel once before, and had a lovely room. however this time our room was very very small, and not nearly as nice. When I asked if we could change this room for another they said the hotel was full, and anyway as we had booked through booking, com we would only be allocated a small room ?? last time we stayed there we had just walked in off the street, so I couldn.t confirm if this statement was correct. I asked if we would be able to move rooms for the next night and the hotel said this would probably be possible. When we came back to room late in the evening the room had not been cleaned, and as it was so late and we where very tired, we just got back into the same sheets, at about 11.30pm we where phoned in the room to let us know that they had another room, although not once had we been told this before, and by that time we where not going to get up pack and move rooms. The next morning the receptionist insisted that we had been moved to a better room, We hadnt. Wouldnt stay there again.
Great location, and lovely breakfast room and garden, there is a bar, but not open very late.
