The hotel is unique in its ambience. Nico made us feel most welcome. Our room was actually an apartment with 2 baths & 2 beds. We used one. We were on the ground floor with access to a garden. Breakfast is brought to your room at an arranged time. If you stay make sure you are driving a small car to get through the gate. We loved the fact that this hotel is different.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Historic location with modern facilities, such as a/c, wifi, and beautiful private garden/courtyard.
size & furnishing of apartment
great welcome with lots of very helpful advice, excellent location.
bathroom small and the seating could be more comfortable but this is often a problem with italian accommodation and should not put you off staying here
Lecce was a beautiful town and to top it off, we stayed at a centrally located, very comfortable B&B. Nickolas was very helpful and made our stay most enjoyable!
Really nice place to stay and Nicholas the Manager is extremely helpful and a delight to have a talk his English is excellent It can be tricky to locate but Nicholas gives you very good instructions and you will find. Close to all you need to see
The place is a jewel and the Manager is exquisite, kind, helpful, and attentive. It is a place not to be missed.
Beautiful setting and garden with lovely spacious rooms. Very good welcome and information
Lovely old building, room filled with antiques, like living history. Given lots of tourist information and good restaurant recommendations.
The rooms were huge and well appointed. Breakfast served in the room was a nice touch. Being right in the centre of Lecce, it was an easy stroll out to dinner in the evening. The private parking was a bonus. Nicolaos was a very knowledgeable and accommodating host.
There was nothing not to like.
Beautiful building in a good position in the old town Large suite with some kitchen facilities Breakfast delivered to lovely garden
Breakfast rather basic but quite adequate
Very Italian. Owner was charming and went out of his way to be helpful.
We stayed in the largest room, sorry, rooms, which opened out into a lovely garden....quiet.except for conversation of the neighbours which edded to the charm.breakfast, was served in our room, the staff was so helpful, and Nicholas the manager could not do enough for us.the position was great also, easy parking and directions to find the place
The walled garden and trees. Wildlife (ants, occasional bird) and the feeling of tranquility. The extremely warm welcome; assistance with parking the car; information & recommendations on where to eat etc from Paulo; Attention to detail in the rooms. Lovely arched ceilings.
Difficult to find a way in to the old city initially. Print off a detailed map before travelling, as port entry closed and one needs to take a small access road close by instead. Once we found the accommodation, Paulo sorted out our parking. Thanks : )
Everything. Location, decoration, size, friendliness, and great breakfast.
Nothing. Can't fault it.
Beautiful decoration, excellent breakfast. If you choose the suit Jacaranda you will be able to have breakfast in a "fairy tale" Italian garden.
Although Wi-fi was supposed to be free, we could not find the network in any of the two rooms where we stayed. It could be less expensive.
Staying at Palazzo Bernardini is like being a guest at a noble family's home - it actually is! Nikolaos Papazoglou is an excellent manager, full of information on sights and restaurants. The room we were in had a living room with tiles from the 18th century and a garden which boosted two of the tallest trees in Lecce. This hotel is a wonderful change from these monotonous modern hotels which all look the same as they all thrive to look "trendy". Palazzo Bernardini has character and history and it feels right to stay in such a hotel when visiting Lecce with all its magnificent buildings. This hotel radiates old world hospitality.
A word of warning, do not come with a big car, it won't fit in the courtyard. Breakfast is a spartan affair and can be improved.
Location Price/quality Furnishing Quality of the beds, furniture and bathrooms
WIFI speed was ok, but could be better.
Lovely rooms with our own courtyard to sit in. Exceptionally friendly helpful owner and manager. Lovely breakfast. Great location.
Nothing to dislike. It was our second visit and we'll be back!!
The welcome from Nikolaos couldn't have been warmer. I had arranged to be picked up at the bus station as there are no buses allowed in the historic centre and I didn't have a car. Nikolaos spent a good 15 minutes showing me where everything was on the map (including some excellent restaurants) then showed me round the enormous suite which had every mod-con and was beautifully decorated and furnished. Breakfast was good but could be improved perhaps with the addition of some fruit. At the end of the holiday I was given a lift to the station which was much appreciated on a hot morning.
There was no TV reception for 4 days as there was a problem with the satelite decoder which took a while to repair. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem but it did mean I missed the World Cup matches although Nikolaos did invite me to watch the Italian game with him upstairs.

Palazzo Bernardini is a special place with lots of history and orginal pieces from the xvii and xix century. Located in the historical center it is a perfect place to stay when visiting beautiful Lecce. Nikolaos is a perfect host providing you with great sightseeing, local restaurants tips and if interested shows you around the Palazzo and gives you insight to the rare antiques of the house. Special requests are accomodated. Parking in the Palazzo is very convenient. The apartments in the ground floor have access to a hidden, historical garden which is great for having your breakfast in the sun. We will for sure come back. Thank you Nikolaos!
Superbly positioned in the centre of town. Our suite opened onto a garden with our own patio where we ate breakfast which was delivered to us by Mark who also helped us squeeze our vehicle through the narrow entrance into the secure courtyard.
Met by manager even before we parked. Great explanation of town and area. Lovely breakfast delivered to the room. Nice room with garden mini-terrace.
Elegant! Historical building in the heart of the old town beautifully appointed with antique paintings, furniture, and original tile floors. Tall glass doors opened to a lovely garden. Enjoyed a glass of wine at our table on the patio. Pretty linens. On-sight parking. Charming and helpful proprietor. Wonderful breakfast.
Everything was perfect.
