One of the highlights of the luxurious Atlante Star Hotel has to be its rooftop restaurant where you can enjoy spectacular views of St. Peter’s Basilica while you eat.
Score from 507 reviews Good

Right next to the Vatican City and a 10-minute walk from Saint Peter's Square, Starhotels Michelangelo Rome has rooms with classic decoration and air conditioning.
Score from 2215 reviews Excellent
The friendliness of the staff, professionalism, safety, proximity to the Vatican, advice given on touring the city and restaurants were memorable. Great location for people who are traveling solo because the staff really takes care of you like you are family.
Very Helpful & Friendly Staff from reception to housekeeping and concierge.
Located just a few minutes from St Peter's Square. Stayed here for the Papal Audience. Staff very friendly. Provided us tickets to attend the Audience and an early breakfast. Helped arrange our tour of the Vatican.
Bedroom very hot at night with no air con available until summer; no bath; very noisy from street from 1am onwards; no roof terrace in 'sister hotel', as commented by previous visitor.
The staff very attentive; lovely courtyard oasis to come back to and escape the crowds; central location.
room are very noisy, can here people in the hotel, so much noise from the people in the street and in the night regular noise from heater/conditioning. So very noisy room day and night
good location and beautiful palace
If you don't have ear plugs then you will not sleep! Bedrooms are at the rear of hotel building which backs onto a road which is a "rat run" for large groups of noisy people. Bin emptying and street cleaning are at random times through the night.
Location was excellent, with a good buffet breakfast. Hotel clean and tidy and staff helpfull
Excellent located, lovely and really helpful & friendly stuff.
The bathroom wasn't clean and smelt bad.
The staff were great !! Very helpful.
Our stay was only for one night. I experienced some problems with WiFi but the location and the charm of this hotel fully compensated for few hours without Internet access.
You can't possibly stay any closer to St Peter's Basilica unless you are the Pope :-) This charming high quality small hotel sits in the perfect location at the entrence to St Peter's Square. The experience of entering beautiful, secluded hotel courtyard from the crowded and noisy street is increadible and nothing short of the description on hotel's own website: " leaving behind the hubbub of the city to enjoy the luxury of settling down in an elegant haven." The hotel is trully elegant, furnished with taste and consitency throughout. Rooms are appropriately sized and very clean. Despite of its very central location, the hotel offers tranquality and calmness. Staff are very polite and happy to accomodate guests requests, for example bar & snack service outwith specified hours. Breakfast was excellent with very good choice of cold meats, cheese, fresh salad, bread, fruit, yoghurt, crossaints, cakes, cereals as well as scrambled egg and hot soussages and bacon. Bar & Snack offer was also very good. We tried antipasti, tiramisou, icecream, and wine - all was delicious and portions were very generous. And throughout the stay all members of hotel staff took great care of us and were always there if we needed assistance.
Maybe a better selection for evening meal.
The hotel was perfect situation and very friendly staff. They could not have been more helpful helping with tickets for buses and Vatican.
Evening meal in the court yard, good food, good location, friendly helpful staff,
Great location No restaurant and bar service only between 4.30 and 10. Staff very friendly
small room; lack of lounge
surrounding, architecture of the palace
Shower is too small and runs the danger of flooding. Rooms are small. I would rather trade square footage with ceiling height.
Breakfast is EXCELLENT! Receptionists are classy and polite. Courtyard and dinning hall has Renaissance taste. Very close to Vatican and St. Peter's
No bathrobe available. Room to improve for average ability of staff.
Location, breakfast, proximity to Vatican museum
Very noisy at night preventing me from sleeping. Noise of people in street etc - very surprised there is no sound-insulation on the glass windows.
Good breakfasts and clean rooms
There was nothing I disliked.
I have stayed in hotels all round the world and this is one of the loveliest. The staff are absolutely delightful, the décor is inspiring for historians like myself and the location is just amazing. One feels that one is in the very heart of Roman and Vatican history!
nothing to dislike
-proximity to St. Peters -friendlyness and helpfulness of staff -discreteness of hotel -inside court -history of Palazzo
everything.staff were excellent.the hotelwasmagnificent.excellent.
Room size No bath, only shower Minority of the staff The price of the white wine Bar / food only available after 16.30 a bit late for lunch, and not on Sunday strange.
Location and still very quiet / tranquil Does not feel like a hotel - very personal The courtyard Breakfast Room comfort Room cleaning Lovely soft toilet paper Good quality soaps shampoo etc Vast majority of the staff The white wine
Everything was great. From staff to services. Great location. Just few steps from Vatican, few steps from city tour buses, a various choice of restaurants around, taxi at your fingertip, ATM all around. What you can expect more? 15 minutes on foot and you are in Piazza Venezia, or Corso for shopping. With no more than 10 euros you can hit any point of interest in any corner of Rome. For us it'll be for sure always our option when in Rome. Thanks to all hotel staff for all touristic and other advices. One hint. When you check-out, take the transfer service offered by hotel. Due the rush traffic the taxi driver refuse to take you there and you have to pay an "extra fee" to be accepted. For same money hotel offer you a "limo" service.
A beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a great location.
easy access to Vatican City, and close to amenities. lots of charachter
Staff were most helpful and knowledgeable.
The location is great, really near St Peter's cathedral. The staff was always ready to help. The breakfast was definitely good.
