The decor was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. And we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine! There was an awful smell in the room, which was on the top floor. We were told the smell came from the drains. Also, the hotel was difficult to find, the entrance being down an alley and there being no sign; you have to check the numbers on the wall beside the canal and then go down the nearest alley. It was more than a 5 minute walk from the station, especially carrying cases. |

Good location! Easy to walk to from Palazzo Roma with luggage. The hotel rooms are kept immaculately clean. The staff were all very pleasant. The night porter let us in at 02.30a.m. and managed a happy face, after our flight had been diverted to Brescia. Good location for touring and fairly quiet. Even for Venice off season rates it is not cheap. No tea/coffee facility in rooms. Very noisy extractor in bathroom. Despite catering for few guests, a (typical Italalian?) pretty meagre breakfast choice. No cheese both days of our stay, no bread for toast first day, only apricot yoghurts one day, apricot or natural the next. |
