This boutique hotel is in the centre of Ortigia, near Piazza Duomo. It is set in a historic building with high ceilings and stone walls. Each of the 6 rooms is spacious and unique. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby. All rooms at Palazzo Del Sale include satellite TV, air conditioning, and a minibar. Several of the rooms also have a terrace. The bathrooms are made with local materials, such as lava stone and terracotta. Palazzo Del Sale is close to the Aretusa Fountain, to the Maniace Castle and to all the most important churches of Siracusa. Enjoy a walk along the Lungomare promenade, which circles the whole island. If you think of having a home away from home - stay at this lovely place! I have a most tastefully decorated and spacious room with a large terrace - all impeccably clean and just delightful. The owner - Giovanni - and his staff, in particular Luisa, are most welcoming and helpful people. The location is amazing too - just 2 min walk from the magnificent Dome Square and 3 min walk from the sea promenade. And Ortigia itself is fabulous! I was missing my porridge for breakfast but, oh well, there was enough choice anyway!

Location, friendly helpful staff, decent size rooms, with good communal lounge. Good breakfast. Managed to park in street! (Talete parking garage is a hole) Remember to plug the hotel number into your phone as reception (and initial entry) isn't always there at the publicised times. But gets there fast once contacted.

Room was light and cool with balcony looking onto street. Bathroom was modern and well equipped. Lovely breakfast in first floor room. Friendly and helpful staff who made us feel V. welcome on arrival, providing us with a map and directions to the most popular sights. Great restaurant recommendation for local fish restaurant at the top of the island.

Take this hotel, what ever you do! In Siracusa, stay at Ortigia. In Ortigia, stay here. I really did enjoy my stay at Palazzo Del Sale. It was beautiful, service was perfect, my "room" (more than a room) was really spacy and nice, terazza and balcony, big bathroom. The location is great, all restaurants and Il Duomo are near. Visit also the open market near by. Breakfest good, served in living room. If you want, you could make your own cup of coffee or tea there.

Giovanni and his staff were exceptionally helpful in providing suggestions for great local restaurants and places to visit. Their directions always got us to where we wanted to go. Their b&b is quiet and centrally located in Ortygia, so it was easy and safe to walk the wonderful streets and alleyways of the oldest part of the city. Lastly, they provided one of the best breakfasts of any b&b in which I've stayed! Thanks so much!

they coped well with a booking error on their part - a cancellation which they failed to confirm with us ;we were re-booked into a close hotel ; a 1 night stay left us disappointed not have a complete booking!

the bathroom was so dirty and it took them 2 days to repare the shower,so you could not wash yourself.There was a nice girl how tryed her best,but the hotel is just so terrible she could not do anything and the manager was extremely rood.It was a very expensive poor hotel.Never again and i suggest that you check it out.........

The decor of the room was splendid and clean. It was spacious. Breakfest was average. Location was great, near the seaside, but not facing the water.

Accueil très chaleureux personnel très sympathique et lieu très agréable. De grandes chambres, un endroit calme, un hotel joliment décoré. Petit déjeuner impéccable. Bref un excellent endroit pour séjourner à syracuse et profiter de la ville. Le personnel nous a même aidé à trouver une place dans la rue pour que nous n'ayons pas à aller nous garer dans les parkings publiques.

la tranquillità dell'hotel nonostante la posizione centrale che mi ha permesso di visitare a piedi il cuore di Ortigia. L'aspetto negativo non è attribuibile all'hotel bensì all'organizzazione carente della città per quanto riguarda il traffico e la viabilità. Si potrebbe godere in pieno del soggiorno a Ortigia solo se questa fosse completamente chiusa al traffico. I parcheggi già esistenti e le navette lo permetterebbero.

Tutto perfetto e di buon gusto...lo consiglio caldamente!! Se proprio si vuole trovare un difetto, poichè la struttura è nel cuore storico di Ortigia non è del tutto agevole trovare un parcheggio.
