Staff Location Situation Helfulness Great Breakfast
Location, style, welcome
The size of the room, the amenities, and most especially the balcony that looked on to the iconic umbrella pine silhouetted against the misty shape of Mount Vesuvius. The breakfast was very good, fresh and plentiful. The roof amenities of pool and lounges were quite nice.
One day we had tiny ants in the room and were given a spray to deal with the problem. Later an employee came up to check the situation and it was immediately resolved. I felt it was not my place to spray the room, although the incident did not detract greatly from our enjoying our stay
Location and staff
Absolutely everything else.
nice roof-top bar with swimming pool and hydromassage
Lots of use of the lifts, particularly early in the morning and late - our rooms was right beside it.
the staff, the pool , the location, the food, the coffee, the rooms - just about everything was perfect
slamming doors in the early mornings, no free wifi
Great location, just a 15 second walk to the main piazza, and very close to the top of the walking path down to the marina. Very nice and clean hotel. Breakfast was delightful, mostly due to the atmosphere that the older gentleman there who caters to patrons. The outdoor patio at the roof top of the building was awesome. Plenty of lounge chairs, and a small pool for cooling off. There's a waiter there who serves drinks and snacks. Perfect after a long day of touring.
Our room's bathroom had a foul odor. If I had to describe it, it would be a combination of sewer and pesticide. Thankfully, we spent very little time in the room outside of sleeping. Wifi was not free, but not terribly expensive. However you pay per day, and per device. This would have been way too much for all the devices in our family, so I paid for a single device - a laptop - and shared the internet connection via a hotspot from the laptop for the rest of us to share. Worked well. The pool was pretty small, but was still pleasant for just cooling off.
Loved this hotel, booking last minute we couldn't ask for anything better the hotel was in a great location just off the square, very clean spacious room staff very friendly and beautiful rooftop pool and bath with fantastic views. Would highly recommend this hotel and will return on my next trip to sorrento! Staff also very helpful!
The rooms were big and comfortable. Good air con. Great breakfast. Central location and amazing views from the terrace. Nice pool and sun loungers.
Very elegant. I loved their 1st floor lounge which they call " living room ". The roof top solarium with bar is also nice with good views of mountains and the sea. We had a quad room which was very comfortable except for climate control issues.
AC was not effective. Perhaps due to lack of insulation in concrete walls. This nice hotel is a little hard to find. Here is how to get to it: From the train station come down the steps after you cross the street. Walk 100 yards and turn left onto the main street(Corso Italia) lined with shops. Once you reach Piazza Tasso look to your right and you will see the railing of the bridge(road below). Turn right onto the street where the railing ends. Palazzo Guardati is on your left on this very narrow street.
Perfectly located just off the main square the hotel offers spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms. The bath and shower facilities were superb as were the staff, with nothing too much trouble. It is our third visit and since our previous visit five years ago the hotel has added a plunge pool to their roof terrace bar and a lovely 'reading room'/lounge. We have no complaints whatsoever having enjoyed a perfect holiday.
The central location near the main square was excellent. The staff were friendly, in particular the breakfast service and the main reception. The range of breakfast buffet choices was, by Italian standards, pretty good.
The internet photos of the rooftop pool and completely misleading. It's tiny. Opening times are a bit mean. The hotel also charges a lot for WiFi (which is free in the cafe next door). The furnishings and decor were ok, but not in line with the B&B price of nearly £200/night/room.
The hotel is in the middle of the historic downtown with narrow lanes full of shops. Easy walking distance to the cliffs and pathway down to the sea. We liked views and lounging in the rooftop garden with small swimming pool and much appreciated the excellent breakfast and coffee served by a warm friendly host.
Our room was three floors above a basement restaurant and though very clean, always smelled a bit like grilled fish.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is very central, perfect as a base. It is a small, comfortable, family run feel hotel.
You have to pay for WiFi.
The staff is extremely friendly and so helpful. From Mario at the front desk to Antonio at the rooftop pool and the breakfast area attendant, all so helpful and cheerful.
Location very central Nice breakfast and bar staff
Having to argue for the room paid for. Beware of mis-advertising of rooms by this hotel - triple room pictures and description is advertised for double rooms. Room 306 which we were initially placed in was clearly only half of the advertised 25m2 so after an very long discussion we finally got moved to another room. Clearly this is common practice as I had read other similar comments prior to our stay (and whilst we were there we heard two other similar issues).
The cleanliness, the most wonderful staff, Mario, Magda, and of course Vittorio. I'm sorry I didn't learn the name of the housekeeping lady. She was amazing as she made the bed just the way I like it, not the standard hotel way and I didn't even ask her to. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I was in the thick of location wise and I neglected to think this through before booking. My room over the hotel entrance was a bit loud. People coming and going till 1am and the early morning traffic of motor scooters flying by. It just meant that I was forced to be a little more Italian and take an afternoon nap. So really it all worked out in the end.
Central location with everything we needed to make our holiday as relaxing as possible
Central location. Very clean and friendly, helpful staff.
Pool is small.
The rooftop terrace and pool area were the best feature of the hotel. Room was very comfortable and great shower!
Not having wifi included for free was annoying. The connection wasn't always that great. Otherwise no other complaints!
A cool, quiet, elegant oasis in the heart of Sorrento. Spotlessly clean, excellent staff. Fabulous solarium with pool on the roof overlooking the bay of Naples. Terrific central location but quiet once the balcony windows were closed. Convenient to bus/train station.Very good selection at breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Guardati.
Wifi was extra (€25 per week) No iron in the room
Fantastic location, at the heart of Sorrento, and yet, our room was very quiet and peaceful! A "boutique" hotel, with very elegantly decorated with Tuscan furniture, Murano chandeliers and inlaid wood. Very friendly and helpful staff, both at the reception desk and in the breakfast room. A beautiful roof-top terrace, with a wonderful view of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. We'll definitely be back, next time we go to Sorrento!
We loved everything about the Palazzo Guardati!
Location Roof top pool Lovely shower
Bed covers very scratchy. No free wifi
Could have been more delicious fresh fruit at breakfast and greater selection of cheeses.
