Great location - close to everything you would want to see and do in Sorrento Great breakfast - good selection, made daily by the owner Paola and her sister. Everything from fresh juices, cereal, fruit, eggs, bread and the best freshly baked cakes and tarts! Great Service - the owner Paola and her staff are very friendly and welcoming
Magnificent spaces Fabulous breakfast Courtesy and attention of every one there
Palazzo Marziale name is very appropriate for the quality of services provided. The atmosphere there was very welcoming, relaxed and oh so elegant. Hotel interior, room quality and decoration amazed us. Food variety for breakfast as well and choice of crockery and cutlery were at the top end. The staff surprised us with a bottle of local wine since Sorrento short stay was part of our wedding anniversary trip.
Lovely bedroom ,nice breakfast, friendly helpful staff, great location for town and train station to Naples and Amalfi towns. All in all a great place to stay for couples.
well located, nicely clean, enough spacious, greatly decorated. Staffs were helpful and easy to communicate.
You need not expect an extravagant hotel buffet breakfast. It's clean and simple.
Everything is good !
This is a beautiful old building, very well decorated and atmospheric. Small hotel with very attentive, welcoming and helpful staff and management. It has two restaurants that are open to non-guests as well, excellent quality food and wine. The breakfast is great too with frittata, good bread, fruit, vegetables, cakes (incl. a birthday cake!) and excellent coffee and lots more. The location is great too: within the old centre, the sea is just visible at the end of a church square, close to the marina for the ferries, 15 mins walk to train station, many restaurants and shops on your doorstep. The Amalfi coast, Capri, Pompei, Napoli etc are within easy reach by boat, train, bus or taxi.
There is nothing to dislike!
We could fault it at all..
The owners and staff did everything to assure a memorable experience. The closeness to the square, sea of Naples and the train station were excellent. We experienced 4 weddings within our first 48 hours at the Palazzo. The restaurants and scenery along with the proximity to fabulous sites like Pompei and Capri is the best! We stayed 3 nights and we should have stayed a week! Antonella treated us like long lost family and had terrific suggestions on what to do and arranged all the details in a flash!
Honestly, we have not one complaint. We'll be back!
Paola is an excellent hostess. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are quite spacious. Bed and bedding are very comfortable. Decor and design are very impressive.
The street is very noisy and full of exhaust gases. Because of that we had to keep the balcony door closed and use air conditioner, despite the good weather.

Beautiful building and rooms, polite and attentive staff, a fantastic hotel.
Our whole stay was fabulous. The Palazzo Marziale was ideally located near the Francescan Cloisters and lift to the port. It is a gracious building with great features our room was perfect. The restaurant served one of the best meals we had during our stay. You couldn't ask for anymore than the lovely display for breakfast.
The mattress was a bit hard.
The location was perfect ideal for the coast and yet close to the centre. The hotel was traditional and charming with very friendly and attentive staff. The bar was small but cosy where you could watch people passing by. If you like to watch weddings you will not be disappointed.

Location (1) as quite noisy as on the main street
Loved the proximity to all that we wanted to do and see with shopping, exploring, hydrofoil, etc. Homely atmosphere amidst the sophistication which is very rare to find today.
We loved the warmth that Paula provided. She was so attentive to our every need. She helped us find the most wonderful driver....Luiggi who showed us the Amalfi coast and took us to a great Restuarant. We also hired him the next day for a Farm to Table experience and to drive us back to Naples to catch our boat. The hotel is immaculate and romantic...we highly recommended it as our best experience in Sorrento
Everything. We were a bit worried about taking children as Palazzo Marziale looked so beautiful in the photos - we needn't have worried. The owners (and the gorgeous little Coco) and staff were so wonderful and welcoming to all of us (7 traveling together, including grandparents). We were in Love and Romance (beautiful room names), which were spacious and comfortable, with wonderful outlook - we even saw a bride arrive at the church opposite. The breakfast (Italian / Continental) was delicious, with so many choices. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but it looked gorgeous (perfect for a wedding reception ... we would love to come back for our wedding anniversary). Location just perfect for doing nothing or for exploring the Amalfi coast. We loved Palazzo Marziale, and so did the in-laws!
We cannot think of anything - it was beautiful
The hotel is located in a beautiful property at the center of Sorrento and very close to the lift that gives access to the lower part of the city and the ferry terminal. The staff was very nice. It is worth to mention the fact that the hotel managed to get a locksmith at the spare of the moment when we were checking out to unlock a door that one of the persons or our group inadvertently locked with the key inside. That was a life saver because we had a car waiting at the door to take us to Rome. The restaurant was excellent and Costanzo made his best to make sure that our group had a wonderful evening.
The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast selection. However, that was totally offset by the positive aspects of the hotel.
Everything was perfect
A/C blew directly on us
The building is beautiful and clean. The hotel is located near the main square and the port. The option to have breakfast at the hotel is definitely worth it. We left a day early, and while the owner would not refund us for the final night's stay, she did offer us a small discount on our total bill.
The beds are small by American standards, and our room was a little noisy because it faced the street.
As a well travelled professional couple in our early 40s we would highly recommend. A boutique hotel that pairs the classic features of the palazzo with modern luxury. The ocean a few steps away and based in the heart of the old town
Staying at Palazzo Marziale was one of those incredible experiences that my family and I will never forget. This hotel is absolutely stunning and a must-visit when staying in Sorrento. The decor and furnishings were just exquisite. The rooms were lovingly decorated (by the owner Paola) to such a high standard, with careful attention to detail. They were contemporary and stylish, yet still had that authentic feel. The location was perfect! Close to the best restaurants and shopping in town, it offered lovely views of the sea and was in close walking distance to one of the best lookouts in Sorrento! The service and staff were in a league of their own. Paola (the owner) made us feel so welcome, like we were family. As did Antonella who was such a warm and friendly host. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay special, even setting up a beautiful breakfast and dinner (both of which included birthday cakes!) for my son's birthday. The food and wine was some of the best I've ever tasted across the whole of Italy. They offer a range of traditional Italian dishes (plus plenty more) across two restaurants – one is a steak house downstairs (might I recommend the beef fillet and the bbq ribs- yum!) and the other is a world- class restaurant that offers intimate fine dining (perfect for celebrating that special occasion). We ordered a bottle of Tuscan red from the extensive (literally, a whole book) wine list and it was just incredible. Be sure to check out the impressive wine cellar downstairs! I will definitely be staying at Palazzo Marziale again (as will the rest of my family). Thank you to Paola and all the staff for a truly memorable experience. Stayed August 2014, Cindy Stepancic and family
Great breakfast, nice location.
In the middle of Sorrento. You may explore everthing by foot. Decoration is glittering. Staff and the owner are so kind. Breakfast was really good especially croissant. Restaurant of the hotel is also very nice and romantic.
