We had stayed at the Ravizza years ago, back when they had a restaurant and offered dinner as part of your reservation. Alas, that turned out to be economically impossible to continue, but it did not affect the ambiance of the Palazzo. You can imagine some count living there, enjoying the gardens and fountain and arbors. We had room 126. It was roomy, the bath good with typical shower in the tub with a glass water shield. Access for driving was easy as they gave good instructions. Getting to the parking lot is easy and the climb from it through the hotel’s gardens is easy. All in all no problem. Breakfast was good but not as big a selection as other hotels we stayed at during this trip. While the hotel is not ‘close’ to the Campo, it’s only a few minute’s walk through the streets and generally convenient to all the sights. WiFi was available in the room although the connection was spotty at times. We saw this at other hotels, especially those in older buildings with thick walls. We would definitely stay here again.
Location and property are excellent
Directions for driving are confusing
Good hotel with ample car parking, once we had found it! Not easily recognisable. Comfortable large room, spotlessly clean. Friendly, helpful staff all with good English.
Breakfast could have had more variety.
The location of this hotel was excellent, just a stone throw from main centre. The common garden and sitting areas are excellent also. We chose a superior double room which was wonderful with plenty of space. Our room had a beautiful bath and separate shower. Room and front desk service was good and Elena was especially helpful... A classic hotel!
Although we chose a superior double room it looked out onto the road which lacked any charm whatsoever. We like to sleep with the window open but this proved a bad decision. The traffic noise was dreadful all night long. We should have closed windows and turned on a/c. Suggest you pay extra to ensure garden room or make sure you book one of the superior doubles thart is on garden side.
The staff were very helpful, especially the receptionist, and the building and gardens were lovely. Breakfast spread was varied and generous,The parking was free and conveniently located. Very good location, close to all the sights.
Not much difference in style and facilities between the standard and superior room we had in our group of four.
Beautiful hotel, very good and reach breakfast, good english-speaking staff, free parking, beautiful view
We guess this hotel is only for people travelling without any car !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Impossible to drive into this so called palazzo. Would never advise anybody booking with this place
We loved the Palazzo. Breakfast in the garden every morning overlooking the Tuscan hills.Wooden beams on the ceilings. The sense of being somewhere with a history and ambience no modern hotel can match. Brilliant.
Lovely stay in family run hotel with lots of old world character, perfectly located just outside the walls, with free parking. Staff....excellent.... helpful even before we arrived! Breakfast in the garden overlooking the tuscan hills was just what one would imagine it to be......
A perfect stay....what not to like!!!
Beautiful setting in which modern facilities are seamlessly integrated with old charm. Excellent Breakfast in the garden was a treat both in quality and in comfort and service. Private, free parking within city walls makes this ideal for people arriving by car (just make sure to get directions since access is available through one gate only). Easy walk to all attractions.
Nothing. The best stay throughout our Italy travels.
Great Location Overall Facilities are beautiful especially the back terrace area. Good Breakfast, especially the chocolate croissants.
For the upgraded room we had the shower was a big disappointment - so small bumping into walls
Free private parking lot, comfortable bed, nice view, nice garden breakfast
The garden . Their brown bread . Location Beds very comfortable Views
Nosey plumbing from other rooms
Clean and comfort
No Wi Fi though stated that they offer. Hotel address is incorrectly stated on the web. Hotel accused booking.com for that. Poor excuse.
Large garden Great View Drinks and water available Charming rooms Car parking
old villa with wooden beams an unusual feature making one aware of its age, and a lovely garden to sit in especially for breakfast extremely close to all the historical sites
difficult to drive to but parking reasonably uncomplicated once we were given directions from the hotel reception
Location, magnificent historical building, lovely gardens with exceptional view over Tuscan landsape, Good value for money, free onsite parking, clean, good breakfast, helpful staff, good wifi, good size bedroom and much more.
No criticism whatsoever.
The garden over looking the tuscan countryside is great. Hotel is very old. Close to central siena by foot
Old hotels no matter how clean give me hayfever from the dust
A very nice view of the tower from our room. The garden is a lovely setting with beautiful views.
The room was a little small. The staff was not able to locate a first aid kit for an accident we had in the room. (I hit my head on a shutter.) They did direct me to a pharmacy that was nearby. I wasn't crazy about the breakfast.
Great location, just a 5 minute walk into the centre. We had a superior room which was spacious and we'll appointed with a good shower room. Good selection of cold meats, breads, cheeses etc for breakfast taken in the garden with views across the city. Free parking....any parking in Siena is a bonus!
A little difficult to find your way to, forget satnav in Siena, but after a call to the hotel the helpful staff talked me in. There was a little noise transfer from the adjoining rooms bathroom.
Superb location with adjacent car park accessed by the rear garden which has views across the Tuscan hills. On arrival we were given a room at the front which we didn't like but for a €100 a night supplement we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the garden. Eleanor on front desk was most helpful.
Garden, ambience, proximity to everything, large room, friendly and helpful staff, car park, good wifi, This is our 3rd visit in some 14 years. And we'll be back again!
Lighting in the room a bit too dim.
Location, view from room, restaurant recommendation, best breakfast, garden terrace
Should have stayed 2 or 3 nights instead of 1!!!
Great location, convenient parking, beautiful parking.
There were no exercise facilities
Location is fantastic-within the city walls and within walking distance of everything. Definitely call the hotel prior to arriving as they can guide you in and get your license plate info to notify the police so you don't get a ticket for driving into a ZTL. You'll also have to get the code for the gate to the parking lot, which is just below the hotel gardens and very easy to find. Stunning views of the countryside from the garden side of the hotel with large windows that open right out over the garden. Quiet, nicely decorated, beautiful property with helpful staff and a great breakfast-far more than just bread, cheese and cold cuts.
Oddly, though we loved everything else about the property, we had our two worst nights of sleep here. Unsure why-it wasn't noisy and the bed was adequate, although very firm. We did have some trouble with the temp and that may account for it.
