Walking the back streets of Venice and stopping at the many shops and eateries. Sitting on the terrace for breakfast and late afternoon drinks looking out over the Grand Canal. Shower water pressure was too low.

I loved the location, the service and the general ambience. My only complaint was the fact that the air-conditioning comes on at a certain date. Luckily I didn't need it. I think the guest should decide when he or she wants air-conditioning not the hotel.

Just one word: fantastic! Imagine enjoying your breakfast on a superb terrace right on the canal grande in the most idyllic spot one can imagine, a superb breakfast as well!! They went out of their way with all kinds of suggestions that were really helpful, we have eaten as kings, and discovered a neighbourhood that we didn't know yet, the Dorsoduro, which for once, is not crowded with tourists, but where you can meet locals and students. Great! They also went out of their way to get the wifi going on my android tablet, alas to no avail, but it will certainly work next time around..

As soon as we walked into the hotel we were like, wow! It's in a historic mansion that has an awesome staircase (but has also been fitted with a lift). It overlooks the canal - perfect place to eat breakfast or have a pre-dinner drink. The room was decked out in traditional Venetian style which we loved, and the window looked out to the rooftops. You could hear the churchbells and the lapping noise of water... it was so relaxing. Bathroom had nice toiletries and lots of soft white towels. Staff were very helpful, we didn't know how to operate the shower and they came straight up and showed us. The hotel is a bit away from the busy touristy area which suited us perfectly, however it was only a short walk if we wanted to go there. Also the free wifi is super fast, and a yummy breakfast is included in the cost of the room. We didn't want to leave! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Quality and tasteful modernisation of an ancient palazzo. Excellent Breakfasts Ideal position and adjacent to Vaporetto stop. general friendly and helpful attitude of staff The sound insulation was not ideal. We had the suite and there was significant and at times annoying noise from the room above. Telivision and conversation were audible and the walking back and forth was at times like a troop of elephants! On balance the positive qualities of the hotel won us over and we enjoyed our six nights there.

It is the best location for Venice, Italy, because the public boat bus stop is in front of the hotel. ( I put it as business purpose. ) It is also nice View, and great breakfast. -- Romance/honeymoon purpose. The hotel was marked as 4 stars, but it can be 5 stars.

In a perfect location on the Grand Canal with a vaporetto stop right outside the front door. Great restaurants just a short walk away. Beautifully appointed rooms. Very clean and modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast included in price. Wonderful bar/cocktail lounge. Great outdoor terrace overlooking the canal but too cold in November to sit outside.

This was our third visit to the hotel -the same week including our wedding anniversary of 1 December for the last three years. Once again we marvelled at its beautiful restoration, lovely location on the grand canal close to the Ca'Rezzonico and its convenientNo1 line vaparetto stop.Even in December it was possible to finish breakfast(a wide choice) with coffee on the terrace -but obviously this cannot be guaranteed all the time at this time of year! We had no complaints. We did have a temporary problem with the extractor fan in our bathroom, but were immediately offered an upgrade to another room. In fact the problem proved to be only an intermittent malfunction( to be fully rectified as we left) and we happily stayed put in what we had come to regard as 'our room' over the three visits.

What more can one say? This was my third successive stay at Hotel Palazzo Stern within the last three years and when I make a return visit to Venice I will certainly be back here again. The homely yet luxurious atmosphere of this palazzo hotel is a delight on the visual senses. There is a huge terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The location is perfect being adjacent to the Rezzonico waterbus stop. Situated in The Dorsodoro district, the hotel is in within walking distance of the major art galleries like the Academia, Guggenheim and Ca’ Rezzonico and amidst good local restaurants. A wonderful stay and hugely recommended.

A beautiful luxury hotel right on the Grand Canal but convenient to other parts of Venice as it is right next to a water bus stop. Our room with canal view was huge and very nicely appointed. The great breakfast buffet made for a good start to the day especially when enjoyed on the canal side terrace. The location is in a less busy area; more of a residential part of the city so we enjoyed being among the ordinary people of Vicenza. As convenient as the hotel is, the water bus stopping next door was a bit noisy.

The location of this hotel is superb and is within walking distance of St.Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. If you don't want to walk the vaporetto stop is at the side of the hotel but. Is not intrusive or noisy. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is really comfortable. There are a number of restaurants close by. Altogether a superb hotel in a geat location.

This is a small luxury hotel of the highest quality. We particularly liked being welcomed at the hotel's landing pier with a drink! The room was enormous, with stunning views of the Grand Canal. Lovely bathroom and superb, almost silent, air-conditioning. Lovely decor everywhere. It really is only 10 yards from the vaporetto stop, which means that everywhere is within easy reach. One can also walk to some very pretty, uncrowded squares with cafes. Breakfast very varied and served with a smile. We can't wait to go back. The very smallest quibble. In the bathroom, one has to hold the shower attachment,as there is no hook on the wall, so that one cannot stand under it. But, a very small point.
