Palazzo TalamoVia Pasitea 117, 84017 Positano (Show map) Very good, Score from 111 reviews“Great location.Views of the ocean and Positano. Excellent staff.”
Linda,
Tiburon
Start your day with a rich breakfast buffet, complete with Italian pastries, while admiring the view across the Amalfi Coast; the perfect way to wake up in Positano. Palazzo Talamo is an elegant, 19th-century building, which was completely restored in 2006. It has been in the family for 3 generations, and is managed directly by the family even today. It features original vaulted ceilings and large terraces, but also a host of modern comforts including Wi-Fi. Your room at Palazzo Talamo is complete with a sea-view balcony. This guest house is set in the popular area of Punta Reginella, a natural terrace overlooking the sea. Take the steps down to the beach in just a few minutes. Here you will also find the port, where you can catch the ferry to Capri, Ischia, and Sorrento, to name just a few nearby Islands. The helpful staff is always on hand to assist in any way they can. Be sure to ask them for recommendations on some of the best restaurants in the area. Guided tours and shuttle service along the Amalfi Coast are available at an additional cost. Hotel Rooms: 11

Everything. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was ideal. The sea was only a few minutes walk. Restaurants, shops and bus stop was only a few minutes away. There is a particularly good restaurant right across the street. The breakfast selection was limited but quite good nevertheless. The coffee in particular was great! But best of all, the view from our balcony was amazing!!! We had a view of both the town and the sea. I'd recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Positano.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, a family run hotel with a customer care attitude. The location was very good given the general terrain of the area. The view from the room was magnificent and the terrace bar was a wonderful place to have a drink and relax. Room decor was good but not great, Would return again and recommend to others.

Palazzo Talamo is an excellent place, centrally located with just amazing views across the Mediterranian from the balcony. Staying with a family run hotel added to the exceptional experience of Positano. Mother Enzo was an absolute delight along with her daughters and staff. Room service, breakfast, bar. view and attentiveness are high recommendations for wanting to return in the very near future. Just amazing. Book and enjoy.

Room spotlessly clean, staff really helpful and polite. Good restaurants in the street nearby. Cannot understand why people don't like its location. Positano is not for you if you don't like steps and hills. The room was small, not a problem in itself but there was very little storage and cupboard space. Also we had instant coffee at breakfast.

The view from the room, the room was clean and tidy. Location was good. Each time we left the room we had to give our key to reception which worried us about security of items in our room. When we wanted to use the mini bar and open a beer, there was no bottle opener and when we asked for some glasses for the wine and beer we were told no and given plastic cups. When I left the hotel to go for a run in the morning, I was locked out of the complex, no one was around to open the door. I had to call reception and was outside for almost 30 mins. There were too many rules and regulations by the hotel for a holiday!

They didn't have the sea view room with balcony. They put in their apartment on the side of the hotel, which was comfortable indeed, but it wasn't the sea view balcony I wanted to enjoy with my wife. It took them ages to explain why thy needed to change me (apparently, there was a leakage on our previous room. Staff was unfriendly, except for the night shift guy, who was helpful and served us really well when having a few drinks in reception.

What a gem-this small(11 rooms) hotel perched above the harbour at Positano could not be faulted-helpful,friendly staff-clean, comfortable rooms-all balconies with a view to die for of the Mediterranean and the village of Positano-fabulous breakfast buffet in beautiful breakfast room- several nice restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk of hotel. There is no pool which would have been nice(35C when we were there) but air con very effective. There is 350 steps down to the beach and harbour for boat trips/swims which we managed but not for the older or physically incapacitated( there may have been a local bus but we felt good to work off the calories of the fabulous food). The 350 steps to the harbour was a challenge in the middle of the day - would be worth asking if there is a local bus service if this would be a deal breaker.Otherwise faultless.

The rooms were spotless, the balcony offered a great view, the breakfast buffet was more then adequate (fresh pastries, fruit, eggs, toast, yogurt, cakes, cereal, espresso drinks etc) and the walk to the beach was only 5 minutes down the steps...a lot closer than I expected. Eventhough the hotel is situated on the one main street that runs through Positano, there was no traffic noise because the rooms are on the water side and built into the cliff side, below the road. Although only a 5 minute walk on the stairs to the beach..about 300 steps, you need to be in good shape to get back up. We traveled w/ lots of beach toys for our 1.5 yr old son, and we didn't have an issue, but I did hear other guests panting along the steps due to the strenuous workout of climbing back up from the beach. But..if you take your time, it's not really a big deal at all.

The staff were really nice. Friendly, helpful and informative. It was a great location for shops, restaurants and beach. the terrace was small but there were plants and a lovely tiled table on it and the view was sensational over the sea. the car park comes to the hotel to pick up and drop off the car - excellent idea. The breakfast was disappointing. no tomatoes, poor pastries, no dried fruit or fresh fruit salad.

This is a small, intimate, family run hotel set in a beautiful position, about half way up the cliff and overlooking the beach and the sea in Positano. Our room was clean and well appointed and the balcony views of the town and coastline were stunning and caught both the rising and setting sun. Breakfast was extensive, varied and beautifully presented and the pretty bar and breakfast rooms were comfortable and inviting. All the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful and the hotel is very well positioned for access to the town and a range of popular restaurants. An added bonus was the lift as the hotel accomodation is arranged on five floors. All contributed to a fantastic holiday experience.

We had a wonderful time with a very hospitable family run hotel. The breakfasts were great, and the treatment was stellar. We would recommend to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing time, relatively close to beach and facilities such as sightseing, dining etc.

Room was small but clean and well-equipped with private balcony and fantastic sea view. Breakfast was tasty and filling, with a fair amount of variety. Family business with very helpful staff. No free car parking nearby. Parking service is available but costs 20 Euro daily.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Went the extra mile everytime! Helped us book further hotels and transport as well as located missing property! Definitely would recommend. Beautiful view from the balcony as well. Was tempting to eat all our meals on the balcony! To get to you need to walk up the hill a fair way, but that's cause we didn't know to wait for a special bus!

Location, even you need to walk 350 stairs to reach the beach. Vs other hotels in Positano Palazzo Talamo is a great hotel value for money. Wi-Fi is not working properly in the rooms.
