In front of Rialto Bridge, Hotel Rialto features a terrace with views of the Grand Canal. It offers traditionally furnished Venetian rooms and suites with satellite TV.
Score from 769 reviews Very good
La Locandiera is housed in a small 17th century building on Campo San Giovanni Novo, a peaceful and typical Venetian Square a few minute's walk from St. Mark’s Square.
Score from 162 reviews Excellent
Located 490 ft behind St Mark’s Square, Hotel Antigo Trovatore offers air conditioned rooms, great water bus services and panoramic views out over Venice from its rooftop terrace.
Score from 435 reviews Very good
In a 17th-century building just 55 yards from St. Mark’s Square, Best Western Montecarlo offers Venetian-style rooms with air conditioning and satellite TV. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
Score from 1408 reviews Very good
Very much overpriced with having virtually no amenities other than an average breakfast.
I thought the location was fantastic and the room itself was very Venice!!!! I am a fussy customer and I thought this hotel was perfect. Prob not very suitable for people with disabilities.
The hotel is in a very good location !!!! Our choice for the hotel was because we wanted to experience in a palace, and this was the Palazzo Bembo !!!!! The experience was fantastic, completely satisfied !!!!!!! Everyone at the hotel were polite, kind, helpful and very friendly !!!! The cleanliness was excellent and the view from the hotel fantastic !!!
Breakfast is perhaps ought to be richer ....
Staff Location Value for money
Great location so central, waterbus station so close. Shopping, restaurants, sights all within short walk. Staff excellent.
Absolutely everything, we could not fault our stay in any way, all t he staff were very courteous, and informative which helped us tremendously. We liked the spacious room and the bathroom was a good size too. We liked the character of the Palazzo Bembo and all the amazing antique furniture, and on top of all this we had the best location. We took the water bus (orange line) from the airport - Rialto and got dropped off within metres of the hotel entrance. We have already recommended this hotel to some of our friends and would definitely stay there again. Jackie and Chris, Leeds
We live in a triple room. The room is very big, especially the bathroom. Also the breakfast is pretty good. My parents like it very much. Transportation is very convenient, just at water bus station Rialdo. Next time will choose Palazzo Bembo again.
The convenience of the water taxi dropping us literally at the front door was priceless, both arriving from a cruise ship and departing for the airport. It was as though we were in someone's home instead of a hotel. Fabulous location. Rooms were very quiet. Nice selections for the complimentary breakfast. Would highly recommend.
Couldn't get the room temperature off the frigid level...this is July so we probably slept better. Had we been there more than one night we would have asked for help adjusting it for a second night. Because the building is 500 years old the floors slant...more some places than others; but that truly was more amusing than unlikable.
Very good location, breakfasts adequate and rooms were adequate.
We booked a canal view room blocked out completely by scaffolding which required re-negotiation of the deal. It would have been a poor view regardless. Management not very helpful, Wi-fi standard was poor, shower heat inconsistent always and when booking beware - as far as we could ascertain almost no rooms have views facing the grand canal as the picture suggests.
Very friendly and relaxed environment. With only 6 rooms it was very peaceful. Great location for getting around Venice and right next to water bus stop. Great when you have 4 suitcases to negotiate.
It was hot towards the end of May and air conditioning wasn't due to start till 1 June. With the windows open to get some air we were bitten by Mosquitos.
The location of the hotel The staff are very helpful
The water in the pathroom can't be controlled for the proper temperature .
the location is excellent. Would definitely book again !!! Breakfast was the least impressive here though of the three hotels we stayed at.
the mosquitoes !! we got caught up in the beauty and sounds of our location and slept with the windows open _ big mistake!! Also our side of the building had scaffolding which obstructed the view but they reduced the price of room. Overall very pleased and would definitely stay again !!!!!
Excellent location and fantastic experience staying in a Venetian Palace on the Grand Canal
The shower needed a thermostatic control . . . Otherwise very good
Mostly everything was very good. service and people were great.
Beds uncomfortable. Breakfast should include a more variety for diet restricted guests, such as hard boiled eggs. not just salty hams,
Great Location, Friendly and Pleasant Staff!
The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, we couldnt find the hotel inially, and it was very dark at the ground floor, the elevator is very small. The room is clean, but uneven floor. The shower would oscillate between too hot or too cold. Overall ok, we enjoyed our stay. :)
Very old palace (palazzo) for those who love to feel the "ancient" atmosphere (although, the entrance looks kind of very basic, since the hotel is only on the third floor, the rest of the building is exhibition place). Situation: 300 m to Rialto bridge. Station for the public boat service (vaporetto) in front of the house, quite convenient. The "hotel" has only 6 rooms, could be a good place for small groups. Don't expect luxury, but authenticity. We liked it a lot. Appx. 10 min walk to san marco (by vaporetto it takes a bit longer, but nice boat ride). Quiet room. Friendly staff.
As always in Italian hotels, breakfast is poor and they should not call it "buffet", since people tend to expect more by the word "buffet". The croissants are excellent, unfortunately the coffee is not. The drip brew (filter) coffee is very thin, the espresso might be okay for most tourists, but not if you like real italian coffee, cannot be compared to coffee at a bar. Our room (standard) was relatively small (appx. 16 m2 + bathroom), but ok. two windows. Some moscitos in the room (but might be everywhere in venice, don't know)
Really great views from family room overlooking the Rialto bridge. Comfy beds & great bathroom. Great location in the heart of things. Good breakfast & helpful staff. We travelled with our 16 year old & 11 year old staying in same room. Very spacious &clean. Loved it!
Staff not on desk all the time so some visitors may worry about security, although there are locks on room doors. Not so much a hotel as five well appointed rooms on 3rd floor of mixed use accommodation (business uses).
Fantastic location, beautiful rooms of antiques, nice breakfast and helpful & kind staff.
Very helpful and responsive front desk staff and lady who served breakfast was great as well. Breakfast was adequate - continental. The location was hard to beat being close to Rialto vaporetto stop. The room was clean and reflected an old fashioned palazzo.
Beds were very firm. The lift was small and slow and didn't inspire confidence that it would make it to the top floor.
The location was great and easy to get on and off the vaporetti, and within 5 mins walk to st marks square. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious.
The uneven floors - although that cant be helped. The very dark entrance lobby at night, lights are on a timer, but should be kept on dusk till dawn. A change of breakfast would have been nice.
Very helpful staff, great breakfast, loved the rooms! And literally 5 min from st marks square, and right outside the Rialto stop.
Nothing comes to mind - would love to stay again.
Staff was good.
We arrived about 9 pm after taking the wrong boat (my fault take the one going to the Rialto Bridge and you'll be right in front of the hotel). The entrance is about 100 meters from the Rialto Bridge - great location. HOWEVER, the foyer was in utter darkness, very old, very creepy and the totally empty. Apparently there is a bank on the ground floor and some kind of exposition center on the next floors. In addition, the intercom didn't work and looking at the building, we thought it was deserted and we were scammed. We spoke to a water taxi driver who led us to a side door which was locked and the intercom also didn't work. I called the hotel and the one staff member came down to the deserted lobby and met me. He was very nice. They keep the massive, OLD wooden open day and night and the staff leaves at 11pm so the hotel is unattended all night! Every night when we went back to our room we had to find lights which are on a short timer and who knows if some mugger was hiding in the shadows. As far as the rooms, the walls are covered with a very heavy fabric but the fabric is about 1/4 inch off the actual wall. The bathroom was clean and breakfast was great. Frankly, I would never consider staying there again. BUT if you already booked your room the above information should give you enough info to prepare and enjoy your stay.
Very easy to locate - close to Rialto water service and all shops and restaurants. Large room.
Sloping floor in part of the room, mosquitos, no tea or coffee making facilities in room, our advertised view of the canal which attracted us to this hotel was a view of scaffolding and we couldn't see the canal at all.
the venetian style of the hotel It was really quiet Clean friendly receptionists
We weren't expecting the entrance to look quite so derelict The scaffolding outside our window meant that we didn't have the wonderful views of the canal that we were promised There was no communal bar area for a drink on returning to the hotel after dinner
