Palazzo Failla HotelVia Blandini 5, 97010 Modica (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 126 reviews“This is an outstanding hotel where both the service and the rooms are nearly beyond description. The staff would bend over backwards to help you find what you want or accommodate your wishes. The rooms are a spectacular combination of palatial comfort and modern amenities. The hotel itself would be a destination to seek out even if one does not have any other reason to go to Modica. ”

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is beautifully decorated. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! Our room was rather dark and the bed was not comfortable. We also had a problem with the heater which didn't work well.

The attention of the hotel staff was superb. They helped us in everything we needed, and the hotel is beautiful and very care. The noise in the rooms from outside, but the staff solved us that problem.

The hotel was a private residence and has been beautifully converted into a lovely hotel with 10 bedrooms - 7 are in the main building and 3 in the annex. However, these 3 rooms are even better than the main building with huge bathrooms so do not worry about being allocated one of these. A little difficult to find and to park outside. Park where you can and the hotel will take care of the rest!

Absolutely excellent staff (and owner, who gave us a lift one day!). The people at reception and in the bar were always extemely polite, proactive, smiling and really happy to help. The rooms were elegant, comfortable and fully-functioning and the breakfasts copious. One of the best hotels I have stayed in for many a year, largely thanks to the fabulous welcome. Nothing negative to say! All excellent!

A truly fantastic hotel, one of the nicest I have stayed at in Europe. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was an absolute highlight. I would not be hesitating to stay at this hotel next time we are in Modica.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff who really care about your welfare, individual nature of hotel, lovely rooms, very clean, choice of dining, located in a very interesting town and area, excellent value overall Located in narrow streets with traffic very closeby, no garden area to sit, parking can be difficult but the staff will park your car for you which takes some of the pressure away

We loved the beautiful old rooms and the excellent bathrooms. The restaurant is superb. The staff were delightful. Unfortunately the bedrooms can be noisy as the hotel is on a busy corner, but it is well worth staying.

Very personal service. Perfect location in historic town of Modica. Beautiful quality boutique hotel and restaurants. Modica is a beautiful town full of history, facinating buildings built on cliff faces so lots of narrow streets and hundreds of steps. Also 20 mins from lovely sandy beaches. Serviced if you require them. Lots of quality restaurants serving quality natural food and wine. Nearby towns of scicili, Ragusa and siracusa are a must visit. Even the drive from Palermo airport passes the most stunning scenery as the elevated motorway snakes over valleys and through mountain tunnels. English is often not spoken or understood so depending upon your view or situation will either be an enjoyable challenge or a frustration. We sometimes received a laziness from locals not trying to communicate at times because it was effort. But not a biggy. Must have a car. Stairs could be a problem. Spa equipment didnt work which wasn't an issue but could be as they advertise that side of things too heavily.

Five stars.Owners and staff very helpful and kind. Stayed in historic building in exquisite antique room - very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Owner even picked us up in Modica after sightseeing and drove us back to the hotel. Their associated restaurants are also excellent. Great place!

This is a small, beautiful and extraordinarily well-run hotel. Staff was eager to help us in any way, including parking our car (gratis) and then offering to drive us from upper Modica to lower Modica and back. Accomodations run from excellent to luxurious. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous. We ate dinner in the hotel's 'second-tier' restaurant, dal Colonello, and found a fabulous menu and wine list, and all the food expertly prepared. One usually has to choose between Noto and Modica to see a certain quality of Sicilian baroque architecture and decoration. This hotel is one, very good reason to choose Modica. I recommend Palazzo Failla unreservedly.

Palazzo Failla is a most wonderful place to stay in Modica actually one of the best we stayed in Sicily. The room was tastefuly decorated with lots of respect to its past glory, it was comfortable, the bathroom amenities are indulging, breakfast was rich and tasty. But most of all, the staff and owners mke this hotel amost recommended one, they are warm and helpful, ready to help on every matter, one can easily see that they care for their establishment and guests. For us it was a 5* experience.

We spent three nights at Palazzo Failla Hotel (superior room). We were impressed by its refined and noble quality in all aspects and details of tasteful design, service, breakfast and dinner. The hotel staff was very friendly. Modica is a "pearl" amongst the southeast Sicilian baroque cities and there is a lot to discover. The Palazzo Failla Hotel is outstanding and setting standards in all respects. German/Swedish couple/February 2011

The hotel had an excellent multilingual staff that provided great service in a professional and courteous manner. The hotel staff made the whole experience enjoyable. The restaurant and coffee bar had good food at reasonable price. Also the hotel was located away from a major traffic road, so very quiet at night.

In today's world of mass consumption and sameness, it is lovely to find somewhere that stands out. The Palazzo Failla hotel is not only a beautiful building with a lovely air and atmosphere situated in the old town of Modica, it is also staffed by professionals. We were treated like royalty; so much so that it was hard to leave. Every single person we encountered was friendly, courteous, and happy to answer even the most trivial of questions. For the first time in a long time, I felt like an honoured guest rather than simply the occupant of a room. A wonderful experience. It was too short. Try as I might, I can't fault the hotel or the staff on anything. Excellent value, excellent location, excellent staff. I can recommended it unreservedly and will definitely be back.

Staff paid attention to every small detail. Our room, which was very comfortable, was in the dependance which is in an alley opposite the hotel so it didn't quite have the charm of the palazzo itself.
